I know this show has ended, but I feel it's forever discussion-worthy and simply awesome.  Plus a lot of people are rediscovering it thanks to Netflix.

Long live Sledgeweb!

When Sawyer kept saying "I've got you, baby" to Juliet, I started in on the ugly cry.

Ah, DITTO DITTO DITTO!!!!

Deleted scene on DVDs

Jack returns to the group after talking to his father. Everyone is smiling and hugging. Jack looks down and there is David.
Jack says "Thanks for helping me let go."
David looks up and says "thanks for helping me go home."

L O S T

But he had a father and it was Esau ::)

THIS WOULD BE THE BEST ENDING, MIB wasn't ALL bad and he NEVER HAD A FATHER!

Actually Esau was Jacob's brother in the Bible.  So Jacob's brother's father wouldn't be named Esau.

Strictly speaking, of course.

Just to echo everyone else's sentiments, thanks Sledge! I hope you keep the site up at least until the last season is released on DVD so we can discuss the additional footage that's going to be added.  ;D

Yay, something to look forward to!

Episode 6x16 / Re: The Official "Pat yourself on the back" Thread
« on: June 01, 2010, 05:32:32 PM »
-- That Jacob/MiB were brothers, but I think a lot of people guessed that (my boyfriend was impressed that I predicted it,though!)

-- That the girl who washed up on the beach was (a) pregnant and (b) Jacob and MiB's mom. (The moment it showed her washed up on the beach I shouted to my boyfriend -- who was sitting right next to me, but I still felt the need to shout -- "That woman is going to be pregnant and give birth to Jacob and MiB!")

-- That Juliet and Sawyer would meet in a different existence (which turned out to be the Alt. timeline) and offer to go dutch on coffee.  I knew this right when she was whispered it to Sawyer when she died in his arms.  When the Alt timeline showed up in Ep. 1 of Season 6, I was positive.

Episode 6x16 / Re: It worked

It was an amazing red herring.  Took some thinking to realize she wasn't referring to the bomb re-setting time at all, and that the bomb hands-down didn't work.

Episode 6x16 / It worked
« on: May 29, 2010, 10:33:33 PM »
Juliet was talking about the candy bar, not the bomb!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We all obsessed over this statement meaning that the bomb re-set time, but she was just having a flash to their purgatory/ALT timeline and the candy bar falling out of the machine.  That is all she meant by it.

I was waiting so intently for the "We could go dutch" line that I didn't even realize she said "It worked" also until I rewatched it tonight.

(My apologies if this has already been discovered/discussed by others, but I didn't see this in the other thread titles yet.)

Episode 6x16 / Re: Numbers...Valenzetti....An....swer?
« on: May 29, 2010, 09:21:57 PM »
re: David - if I'm not mistaken, as soon as Locke tells Jack he has no son, we never see David again.  Momma Juliett leaves him at the concert, then remembers with Sawyer.  Aunty Claire goes and gives birth, has her moment with Kate and Charlie.  And Pappa Jack is intrigued enough by Kate and what she's telling him that he leaves the concert without David.  So there's either some pretty bad parenting going on here on the part of Jack and Juliette (and some bad babysitting on the part of Claire) or maybe everyone realized they didn't need to worry about David any more.  And that's just from the fact they abandoned him at the concert.  Never mind that they all headed off to the Church and went off into the great white beyond without him, leaving him to fend for himself in that "life" he was in.

Take that for what you will, but notice that Juliet leaves David at the concert with Claire.  Juliette has her moment with Sawyer.  Claire has her moment with Charlie and Kate.  Jack starts remembering, lets Kate drive him off from the Church.  Meanwhile 12 year old david, if he's even still around, I guess was left to fend for himself at the concert because all the adults left without him.  So I sort of felt like Locke telling this to Jack had something to do with us never seeing David again.

Agreed. It's as if he dissippated

Just like in Coraline.  Coraline thinks that her "other mother" and "other world" are real, but starts to pick up hints that things are a little ... manufactured.  It finally hits her over the head when she's walking through the woods and the woods slowly go from being real and 3-dimensional to pencil sketches of trees and 2D, and then to nothing at all.   An empty canvas, and she's standing there among ... nothing.  That's when she realizes this "other world" is what someone just created for her.  There are limits to how far the illusion can go.

DAVID was part of that illusion for Jack (and for Juliet) in the ALT universe.  When Locke told him that he didn't have a son, something changed in his idea of "what reality is" and we never see David's face again.  The illusion of David fell apart, and David ceased to be in Jack's ALT universe.

Thank you all for the reassuring posts.  I don't have to lie awake at night now and wonder what it meant!   ;D

So I am not the only one!! After the finale, I kept waking up all night with random thoughts about the finale.

Ah, me too!!! Had at least a couple puzzled walks to the bathroom to fill up my water cup, thinking about the church and the light.

Episode 6x16 / Re: Jack's Stab Wound
« on: May 27, 2010, 01:35:59 AM »
Speaking of his side wound, I immediately thought of the wound that Jesus Christ had when he was stabbed in the side -- pretty much the same spot (where they think Jesus was stabbed).  And that was what caused Christ's death (although the nails and thorns didn't help).

And now that Kate and Sawyer are safe, will they shack up with each other?  I hope not. :P  Although I really do want Sawyer to have love and calm in his life.  But then again, I suppose based on his interaction with Juliet in the church, he never had another love top her.

Episode 6x16 / Re: Who WASN'T at the church and why?
« on: May 27, 2010, 12:43:23 AM »
Yeah, I don't understand what David was either besides a soulless illusion.  Jack just forgetting about him doesn't sit well with me.  But I guess it could kind of be like when you have a dream about some other life and you wake up and realize it wasn't real.

I think this is exactly it.  I've dreamt about totally invented scenarios and people which make me sublimely happy in dreams and then wake up and realize it wasn't real.  And I smile and then wake up and live my day (or walk out of the doors of my church of death, either one).  Jack's alternate life was his living his vision of success -- in that light, I don't think David's presence is hard to rectify, and makes sense.

Where will we all go now??  I don't want to wait until we're all dead in a church to see you all again!

Ditto to those who have said that this site has made LOST even more fun and enjoyable.  Being a LOST fan was truly an interactive experience, and will be hard to find again.
