Episode 5x14 / Who died and put Radzinski in charge?
« on: April 29, 2009, 11:48:14 PM »
You know, I was really excited when I first heard that name this season. I thought "FINALLY!" But now, I kinda just want him to blow his brains out and get it over with. He's pushy, arrogant and just plain annoying. Anyone agree?

Episode 5x13 / Daniel is from Ann Arbour?
« on: April 15, 2009, 11:13:25 PM »
Ok,  Chang said that they were picking up some scientists from Ann Arbour. That's been speculated that those were the DeGroots. Is Daniel Gerald DeGroot? or maybe just related? IDK this show confuses me SO much.

Also, I think the timing is off a bit. Didn't Juliette say that the sub wasn't going to be back for a few weeks? Yet here it is, like THAT night. or maybe the next night? Something's off...

Episode 5x12 / "Had a daughter with an outsider"
« on: April 08, 2009, 11:47:29 PM »
Did anyone else find that line interesing? And the fact that it seems like Widmore was "supposed" to leave the island and wasn't "swindled" by Ben... Anyway, do we have any guesses as to who Penny's mom is? Or is this something that we don't need to know? I think it may be the latter as it suggests someone we haven't yet and may never meet...

Episode 5x12 / The Ben Complex
« on: April 08, 2009, 11:40:40 PM »
Did anyone else put this together? Ben definately has some kind of complex and it all stems from the fact that his mother died when he was born:

1) Ben can't kill Rousseau (sp?) because he can't leave a baby abandoned
2) Ben can't kill Penny because Charlie came out at the right time. He didn't want to leave Charlie without a mother.

Also, did anyone notice that Widmore accomplished what he set out to do without doing it himself? First he sent Ben into the jungle to Kill Rousseau and "it" (the baby), Alex. 16 years later, he accomplished the task by sending his mercenaries to the island. I, for one, don't think Ben is responsible for Alex's death. I think Widmore had it out for her from the day she was born. I think it was just important that Ben feel responsible for at least ONE death that happened because of him.

Theories & Speculation / anagram?
« on: March 31, 2009, 04:07:23 PM »
Hey guys. I've been toying with this for a few days now. I read on another site about how there was an anagram in the episode when Karl is in room 23 that is a clue to the identity of Adam and Eve. This supposedly came from Carlton Cuse. The folks on that site came up with something I wasn't satisfied with from what was being said over a speaker. The one that drew my attention was "god loves you as he loved jacob" but I can't get anything solid. Anyone else heard of this or want to give that quote a try? Thanks guys

Episode 5x10 / Ann Arbor?
« on: March 25, 2009, 11:55:37 PM »
When all the Dharma-ites were in the meeting discussing what to do about Sayid, Radzinski mentions calling Ann Arbor and letting them make the decision. Ann Arbor, Michigan? Is this like, headquarters? What would Ann Arbor have to do with anything?

Episode 5x09 / Did someone turn the numbers back on?
« on: March 19, 2009, 04:09:23 PM »
Hey guys. I was just thinking about this... when the plane was going down it turned to daytime right? Well, we also hear the numbers transmission over the radio while the copilot is trying to radio for help. That was turned off in 1988 by Rousseau. If this is present day, shouldn't the numbers (and even the distress signal) be turned off?

Something is amiss here. I'm just not sure what. Anyone have any ideas?

Theories & Speculation / Jack Kate Sawyer and Hurley
« on: March 14, 2009, 02:35:15 PM »
Hey guys. I don't know if this already been covered or not so forgive me if it has.

Way back in the season 2 finale Michael brought Jack Kate Sawyer and Hurley to the others in exchange for Walt. I don't remember if this was evidence from the show or speculation but I believe they were on Jacob's list. I think the list is people that are/were/should be others. I believe Richard gets to know these 4 in the 70's and even converts them to be others and this is why they wanted those 4 specifically. Thoughts?

Episode 5x08 / The chess board
« on: March 06, 2009, 08:23:53 PM »
Hey all.

Did anyone else notice that there was no king on the white side of the board in that chess game that was breifly flashed in this episode? Its in the user requested images on the front page if you haven't.

For those of us not familiar with the game of chess, the king NEVER leaves the board. It's the most important piece in the game. The object of the game of chess is to capture the other color's king. When the king is in "check" that means that one of the opposing color's pieces has a direct attack position on that king. "Checkmate" means that one of the opposing color's pieces has a direct attack position and the king has no way to maneuver out of that line of attack, so the game is over. That being said...

This is the second time (that I can recall) that chess has been involved with this show. The first being "enter 77" when Locke beat the computer chess game to activate the "manual override" at the flame station. In that scene, I'm pretty sure the notation letters and numbers were reversed from a standard chess game. Not to mention, Locke was playing the black pieces. In EVERY chess game I've ever encountered, white is that color that the user controls. (could possibly have a deeper meaning with the whole black vs. white thing going on in the show since day 1)

The king not being on this boeard bothers me a bit because the king can never be off of the board unless the game is over... I'm not sure what to make of it, but they showed it for a reason didn't they?

Thanks for reading my ramble... feel free to add thoughts.

Episode 5x08 / Where's Olivia?
« on: March 04, 2009, 11:54:47 PM »
A question that nagged at me the entire episode... Wasn't Horace ad Olivia that picked up Ben and his parents when he was born? I assumed that Olivia was Horace's wife... did I assume wrong? SOMEONE PLEASE HELP!!! LOL

Hey all,

I'm writing this now becuase I don't like teary good-bye's or anything like that and I don't want to wait until the last minute or until it's too late.

I would like to say thank you for being the best LOST website out there. This website and forum just feels like I'm part of a family of LOST lovers everywhere. Everyone here has made me feel welcomed and encouraged to share my ideas and thoughts with you.

I would also like to thank you for all the great analysis on every aspect of this show (including things we look far too much into LOL). It has really helped me understand this show on a whole new level.

So thank you Sledgeweb, and thank you Sledgeweb members for making this show a great experience.

Episode 5x07 / Where's Sayid?
« on: February 25, 2009, 11:28:04 PM »
Sayid wasn't mentioned in this episode on the island (that I saw) Did anyone else see or hear anything? Caesar said that the passenger list was taken by the pilot when he left in an outrigger with some woman (presumably Sun) So where's Sayid?

Episode 5x07 / Lapidus.. Hell of a Pilot
« on: February 25, 2009, 11:25:35 PM »
Man that guy can fly can't he? This is 3 times now we've seen him in a crash and rescued just about everyone on board with his superior piloting skills... Is THIS why the island/Jacob needs him? Does he provide some kind of special flying ability to get people to and from the island? IDK but WOW he's good lol

(sorry I'm just impressed lol)

Episode 5x06 / Flight 316
« on: February 20, 2009, 11:16:26 PM »
Hey all, I was just rewatching the episode and right before Hurley gets up to tell the deskperson that he bought all of the remaining seats I listened closer to the announcement she made.

"This is a preliminary boarding announcement for Ajira Airways flight 316 with service to Honolulu and Guam departing from gate 15"

I thought it very interesting that, first of all the flight connects in Honolulu (where they're filming) and second, that we never saw their connection in Honolulu. That means that the island was between Los Angeles and Hawaii when they returned. Not sure what that means since the island is always moving, but I thought it might mean something. And since there have been talks about a volcano on the island, does that mean that it travels around the "ring of fire" where all the volcanoes and earthquakes seem to take place in or around the pacific?

Just a thought....
