Spoiler Theories and Speculation / Spoiler about My Package....
« on: September 24, 2010, 01:27:57 PM »
that contained the Blu-ray box set. You all have a sick mind. Anyway! So the package comes as the base of a pyramid or temple of some sort. When you open the Lid, which has a large LOST emblazoned on it, the reverse side has a raised map of the island. Kind of topographical, but no real location markers or anything. Just a map of the Island. Has some girth and texture to it, its kind of nice. Back to topic. When you explore the fun contents of the packaging you find a black light pen. Seems a bit out of place. So I kept the black light pen out to play around with it and I closed the package up and put everything back together the way it was. I liked the Map as opposed to the LOST lid, so I placed the lid upside down so the map would show. I was playing with the black light pen, looking for fun things around the packaging, and was having no luck, until I shone the light on the Island Map now showing as a lid to the packaging. I saw a little violet discoloration. So I turned out all the lights and tried this experiment again. Clear as day, across nearly the entire island, was an image of the Donkey Wheel. This intrigued me, so I turned the lights on and started looking around the contents again. I started to think how this would pertain to the show's theme or story, and was starting to get confused. I looked back at the lid of the packaging. I noticed on each corner of the raised rectangular map there was a symbol. Directly matched up to these symbols were symbols on the lowered lid. The Symbols did not match. So i took a hold of two of the corners of the Map and turned gently. A slight give. Exhilarated, I turned until the map had gone 90 degrees to be creating a cross out of the two separate portions of the lid. I lifted the map away to reveal a hidden disc.

I have yet to partake in the hidden disc because I want my Fiancee to find the secret and we will watch it together. Anyway, I thought I would share that little story of LOST's last little gift to me. Everything this show gave use for 6 solid seasons will never be forgotten for alot of fans.  I am sure that once I watch the disc the Journey will officially be over, but the end is not what matters, but the path one takes to get there.

No no I don't think so. The little secret attached to the Black Light pen is with either of the box sets I believe. I haven't yet watched the Epilogue, although I hear its kind of pandering to a certain subset of people. As for the Packaging stuff I don't want to say anywhere on a board because I told my friend and he got really pissed, even though I don't think he is buying the box set anyway.

Episode 6x16 / Re: Unanswered Questions

Okay here's the thing. The thing is here. As fans we are allowed to like a show for reasons that we ourselves determine. Some people like LOST because of the Mysteries, and some people like it because of the character development. Some people liked the mysteries, but understood the show had its characters at its core, and some people thought the character stuff got in the way. Those are all opinions that you are allowed to form for yourself. What you cannot form for yourself is what the writer's intended the show to be about. To all the people arguing about who's right and who's wrong need only to look at the evidence at hand. I get that some people are upset with the way it ended, and that's just too bad. The writers ended the show the way they wanted to end the show. The characters we grew to love all had closure to their stories (as puberty would allow in the realm of story telling of course). As a writer I understand that they are really the only ones who have concrete answers on anything. If they say this show was all about the characters, which they said as early as season 2, then it is a character driven story around the setting of a mysterious island that is the source of everything good in the world. You can challenge that all you want and say that the intention was otherwise and changed over the course of the show, but that is the nature of writing. It is an organic experience. Just because something about a show intrigued you and then you felt disappointed when the reveal came, does not mean that it was intended to con, it just means you were focusing on the wrong part of the show. Alright well I am done for now. Carry on.

Yeah the packaging alone for the series set I bought is amazing. It comes with its very own Black Light pen light, which has a nice little secret attached to it. I figured it out at work yesterday after I bought The Package. (see what I did there?)

Hey Guys and Gals. Its your friendly neighborhood IAJ here. Just wanted to start up a topic for anyone to talk about the Blu-Ray Box set. Just picked it up and it (so far) is fantastic. I haven't even gotten near a Player for it, but the packaging is amazing by itself. It seems there are still a few secrets left for us to find which is pretty awesome. Anyway, here it is. For anyone that still frequents SWLS, Let's do this!

Ah, MAN! I was all excited for Chipotle for I want Portillo's. Grrr.... HAHA

House, engagement, Stanley's Cup I mean dude you are just having a slam dunk summer and if the Cubs win world series well there you go!

A Cubs World Series would be the worst thing that could happen to my year so far. (I am a Sox fan) The fans of each team are very polarized here, it makes for some great arguements. One of the happiest sports moments of y life was Game 6 of the 2003 NLCS when Alex Gonzalez booted that room service hop right after the Bartman foul ball. I've been absolutely stoked with this current run the Sox have been on. It all started around the time Lord Stanley came to town.

HAHAHAH. Yeah I know we've both wanted to go to Hawai'i for a while. That would be pretty nice.

Yeah She loves LOST too. I got her hooked on it when we started dating 3 years ago. We watched a disc a night in that first Summer to get her caught up. Hawai'i is an awesome idea too.

So when's the next LOST episode....::sniff:: I miss it. As for me, I am engaged! WOO! Getting married on June 11, 2011

Episode 6x16 / Re: Questions?

I am just trying to help.

Well, one of the things is this baby business.
If women are not able to conceive and give birth on the island (they can either come pregnant or go away to give birth), what with Ethan?
OK, I understand, that Amy MIGHT have conceived off the island, but there is no indication she did, so this is not the answer I'm looking for.It has been banded about, I can't remember where, that the Others routinely brought people off the island to reproduce because of the problem with child bearing.

Was his body used by MiB only? Was it MiB or Jacob who didn't want to give Locke a hand when he was about to move the wheel? Was it MiB or Jacob who set Michael free?
MiB was Christian on the island. The Christian on the Freighter could have been either MiB or Christian. My guess is Christian, but in the grand scheme it really doesn't matter. Michael achieved his purpose to help the Oceanic 6 get off the island so MiB could use them after they were brought back.

If there was a strict rule about the bodies (implied elsewhere) because MiB could use them, why was the Dharma grave left open? Apart from dramatical purposes.

Dharma Mass grave may have been before the scope of MiB's powers were really known.

If you can only move on when you reconnect with significant people in your life, why didn't Sayeed reconnect with Dogan before moving on?

Really? Okay. Sayid didn't reconnect with Dogen because Dogen was largely unimportant in Sayid's life. The most important time of his life was spent on the island, and Shannon was the most important person in that reralm of his life.

I am disappointed probably because I didn't like Vanilla Sky and the whole ALT idea resembled it too much for me. As much as I am a big sucker for philosophical speculation I would very much prefer the time IMO wasted on the ALT to be used for some more satisfying storytelling. I take it's about 50% of season 6. I understand it's just my personal preference, but this is the way I feel.
