Episode 4x02 / Why Only Six?
« on: February 11, 2008, 10:31:55 PM »
How many originally went with Jack?  What happened to the rest?  The helicopter can't carry eleven (the six, boaties, and Ben), so there must be over one trip or another way off.

Episode 4x02 / What If We Find Survivors From 815?
« on: February 08, 2008, 06:59:50 PM »
Out of the thousands of islands in the pacific and millions of square miles....

Why would Naomi suspect that the plane crashed on this island and why would she suspect that there were survivors?
Abaddon/Naomi had some notion of the island's capabilities/properties before the mission.  The idea that a plane was lost and impossible to find led them to suspect that the island was a place where such an event could happen.  Additionally, Naomi knew that a crash on this island was not the same as a crash elsewhere.  (A normal altitude loss of control/crash doesn't produce survivors).  Finally, Naomi knew that although the man they were pursueing (Ben) and the others were diabolic, they would not kill the survivors.  Therefore, she must have some understanding of why Ben would want to keep them alive (baby factories).

So, it's starting to look like Abaddon is in charge of the cover-up.  Naomi's flash may have been back.  Dan, Frank, and Miles' may have had flash forwards or flashbacks.  If they were forwards, then whatever got them off the island altered their memories and/or possibly reality.

Ya, lot of theories.

But, again, why would Naomi suspect that the survivors were upon this specific island.

Episode 4x02 / Were They Flashforwards or Flashbacks?
« on: February 08, 2008, 12:51:52 AM »
Serious question.  Did the scenes occur before or after the four reached the island?

Episode 4x01 / The Other Team
« on: February 07, 2008, 05:00:45 PM »
Just some questions/thoughts before tonight's show....

The replay of Charlie having a conversation with Penny shows her in, presumably, her father's office.  I suspect that Mr. whateverhisnameis (Penny's dad) had the radio frequency of that hatch and had planned to speak to the boat people once they had taken it.  Instead, his daughter decided to visit him that day and he was out of the room when contact was made.  Thus, Mr. whateverhisnameis is on the other side.

Mr. Abaddon, the attorney, the gatekeeper of Shoel, is not likely a good guy.

Ring lady and Monk guy, probably good people.

Sun's dad....bad guy.  Is he on a team?

Kelvin....a possible player?

Undercover cop kid (Locke's mary J flashback), possibly on a team (you're a farmer John, not a hunter.....too prophetic)

Ya, I know....a new topic.  But I wanted to gather all of your thoughts, as we get more pieces of the puzzle, on people in the flashbacks (including Randy) who may be players on one side or the other (and what are the sides).

Episode 4x01 / The Blackboard
« on: February 04, 2008, 06:56:38 PM »
Did anyone get a screencap of that thing.  Looked like an island, shark, and other stuff.  Anyway, didn't see a post of it and was curious.  What was the name of the lawyer who visited Hurley?

Episode 4x01 / Why Would Hurley Go With Jack?
« on: February 04, 2008, 05:27:22 PM »
Hurley states, at the close of the episode, "I should have went with you."

What does that portend?  Why should he have went with Jack after Charlie's statement?

If he didn't go with Jack, did he get off of the island by a different route?

How did Jack know that it was Hurley driving the car?

Why didn't Jack ask Hurley what it was that drove him to the nut-house?

Episode 4x01 / The Future Ain't What It Used To Be....
« on: February 02, 2008, 06:40:40 PM »
In the flash forwards:

Hurley doesn't have millions,

Jack's dad is alive, and

Kate didn't blow up her step-daddy (and her first love is alive and with her now).

The island is a conduit amongst realities.  The past two episodes may be suggestive.

Theories & Speculation / Weekly Riddle 7.14.07
« on: July 17, 2007, 12:25:40 AM »
Christian once told Jack (after he had got in a fight as a kid), "don't choose.....because when you do, you just don't have what it takes."

The words spoken by Christian must have been in error, or they were meant to be studied.  When is it important not to choose?  When is more difficult not to make a choice?  When is one week when we take a stand?

I believe that Christian's words.....Na, I'll stay quiet....What was Christian trying to tell Jack?

Theories & Speculation / WEEKLY RIDDLE 7.1.07
« on: July 02, 2007, 11:36:06 PM »
Every week on "Car Talk" (National Public Radio), they have the riddler.  Many times I can figure it out....but I'm amazed at how creative questions often have intuitive and simple answers.  That is why they are called riddles.

Lost has a number of these puppies on the books.

I thought that it would be nice to run one a week during the very long offseason.  Please email me suggestions for next week and post your answers below.

So, the maiden voyage....Here it goes.

Ben once slipped an amazing line.  He stated that God doesn't know about this place any more than the rest of the world.  What sort of place would obstruct the view of a creator?  What lab experiment can be done where the lab doesn't exist to the scientist?

Episode 3x22 / Why Does Jack Want To Get Back?
« on: May 24, 2007, 05:05:56 PM »
This question, to me, is the elephant in this room.

Jack uses his gold pass every weekend, churns over maps, but continues to tell lies (about what?)....he wants to be back on that island.

Is that because Ben was right in saying, what do you have to go back to Jack?
Is it because of those left behind by Jack and whoever got out?
Is it because he now believes in destiny and that his has been diverted?
Or, something else?

Episode 3x22 / Was Ben Right? Poll
« on: May 24, 2007, 01:47:32 AM »
Ben was willing to be killed rather than allow Jack to go through with his plan.  His actions in jamming the island, desiring the sub to be blown, keeping the women upon the island, etc.....were his deceptions really for the good of the island?  Were the others really "the good guys?"

Jack seems to believe, in the future, that he and Kate were not meant to leave the island.  Why would that be?

Episode 3x22 / Who Was Naomi?
« on: May 24, 2007, 12:41:01 AM »
There is a paradox here.  If Naomi worked for Dharma and Dharma has attempted to infiltrate the island and destroy Ben's group, the how did Jack and Kate survive and end up home?

Better yet, if Naomi's employer was the force behind the cover-up that placed a fake airplane and a bunch of dead people in an ocean trench (faking 815's crash), then why would they rescue or allow anyone to leave?

Episode 3x22 / Who was in the coffin?
« on: May 23, 2007, 11:36:14 PM »
I'm betting Benjamin Linus.  Who else could die with nobody showing?  Kate's response of "Why would I go to the funeral?" could mean that she is still on the run or that she despised whosever funeral that it was.

Episode 3x22 / CHRISTIAN LIVES?
« on: May 23, 2007, 11:14:44 PM »
I am presuming that Jack was a hero first for surviving on a deserted island and then for helping the people in the wreck.  That means that what we have seen in the future and Jack does get off the island (along with who/m else?).

So, if Dad can write a script, Dad is alive.

Christian lives, but how?

Episode 3x21 / Where Does Locke Fit In?
« on: May 23, 2007, 07:50:12 PM »
Assuming that he lives, what will be his role in the finale?  When Jacob said, "help me..."  Help him with what?  I just can't see Mr. Clean's part in this simply getting out of that pit.
