Episode 6x01 / Re: Black Rock
« on: February 06, 2010, 01:00:28 AM »
For sure, we're assuming that the ship coming in at the end of Season 5 is the Black Rock.  But, we could at least be more sure with some screencap comparisons of:

1) the ship on the Season 5 finale
2) the ship in a bottle that Richard was working on, and
3) the painting of the Black Rock (?from the auction Widmore was at? or did somebody have that painting hanging on the wall -- Penny, maybe?)

there is very little continuity in Black Rock depictions, especially the ship in richards bottle, it is much larger than the black rock wreckage. also, the black rock in the sketch looks different from the painting, and of course the black rock in the water looks different too.

Jacob went down pretty easily for an immortal god like being

i get the feeling he won't be down for long

i for one, did not interpret the fade to white as a definite 'bomb explosion' effect.

to me it seems like they want us to wonder whether it might be a time flash or something.

plus+ jacob says 'they're coming' right before cutting back to the swan site disaster. right before the flash of white.

We don't even have a name for it. But I believe your people call it the monster.

I actually like the name "Jacob's Enemy", or JaCoBseNeMY for short

I know!  And what bites is that now that he's really dead ("dead is dead"), it's like he can never find his true redemption and get past his old issues.

about that, i'm still not fully convinced that "dead is dead" (i kno, i should shut up)

but if you remember last night when jacob was making his rounds, kid kate, kid sawyer, etc...
he lets locke fall out the building to what looked like his death, and jacob touches him right as his eyes open and he tells him everything's going to be okay and that he's sorry.

i know jacob is dead (is dead) right now, but to me this seemed like a resurrection.

Episode 5x16 / Re: RICHARD ALPERT IS DEAD!!!!!

haha, what an epic thread.

personally, i think i saw some decent observations in all that hectic shouting.

the taken form of his 'favorite character' is probably locke,
richard's 'death' is just a reference to his source of immortality (jacob) 'dying'
the black shirt = smokey theory has crossed my mind as well
and the 'white smokey' he's referring to is something that locke mentioned to Eko right after smokey attacked him. Although some assume this the bright light Locke was talking about was simply when desmond went to the bathroom, not the whole 'I have seen the island and it is beautiful' scene.

Anyways, don't let all these angry responses get you down, I see your point.
Just try to be a little more gentle with the caps locke :)

I've become obsessed with the guy Sayid killz.

I keep thinking I see him in the future present with Locke's others. He looks like the dude at the fire when Locke gets back to camp.
I know this is just my lost paranoia kicking into high gear, but remember what Ellie says to Richard, "if they succeed, it won't matter"

Episode 5x14 / Re: There are no Variables
« on: May 02, 2009, 03:52:40 AM »
Hi, this is my first post I think...

I looked through this thread and I'm surprised no one brought up the core values of the valenceti equation. At least for me, Faraday's speech about the "variables" really reminded me of that Alvar Hanso video about the doomsday calculation and how core factors represented the enviornmental and HUMAN FACTORS in his equation. The numbers were 4, 8, 15, 16, 23, and 42. And only by manipulating the environment, could they CHANGE the core factors to save the world.

Personally, I see a connection of some sort. Especially with Faraday's journal left behind as well as Faraday's possible resurrection which has been hinted at in the infamous comic con video featuring someone who sounds like him.
