Episode 6x15 / Re: Jack's ascension?
« on: May 19, 2010, 01:42:56 PM »
I was just disappointed that he told Sawyer he didn't feel any different.

Wait..What? Am I going crazy? I don't remember that part. ???

I don't remember that either, and I watched the scene this morning. Last we saw Sawyer he and Kate were watching Jack and Jacob from a distance, no further interplay between Sawyer and Jack. LostFan777...whatchyoutalkinbout?

Yes! That helped wash away the bitter disappointment that was last week's episode (you know, the episode that was all about the island's mythology that provided precious few answers while creating a zillion new questions and a whole lot of confusion). I give it a 10 and I didn't even see the final scene at the well.

Yeah, I figured that the concert was David's, but what happened after Kate was holding up the black dress? Did it just whoosh into the credits or was there more?

My DVR cut out at the end when Desmond handed the black dress to Kate...what happened between that and the LOST whoosh? ???

Widmore's death was a let down, he seemed to be in control and we finally were getting info on his motives and he gets shot by his nemesis and just like that he's done for...he didn't even get a dramatic last word in.

I gave it a 5, which is probably as low as I have rated an episode. It would have rated probably a 7 or 8 if it was earlier in the season, but I'm frustrated that we have one more episode before the season finale and we don't have a clue about...

Why the Smoke can't leave the island, and what has to happen to let it go.
What would happen if the Smoke got off the island.
Why the Smoke takes human form at all, and why it makes mechanical noises and is averse to electromagnetism.
Why the Smoke Monster has to abide by the same rules about not harming Jacob that applied to Brother, who is lying dead and slowly decomposing in a cave.
Why Jacob could be killed by Ben...was or wasn't he made immortal by Fake Mom.
Who is Fake Mom, and why is she so powerful. Is she a witch? A God or demigod? Is she as evil as she appeared to be or just nuts from having to guard this wacky island with its all powerful light source?
Who finished the Donkey Wheel.
The statue of Taweret, the Temple, and the hieroglyphs in the tunnels.
How and why are people drawn to the island before Jacob became the protector of the island/light.
Why the Candidates? Jacob didn't appear to even understand why he had to protect the island. Why is he looking for a replacement? Did he know he would die? Does dying allow him to leave his post as protector, which he didn't want in the first place? If so, why did he want to prove to the Smoke that mankind isn't inherently corruptible?
What does "it only ends once" refer to?
Most importantly, why Jack doesn't have the same haircut on Oceanic Flight 815 version 2 as he did on Oceanic Flight 815, version 1.

The forest moon of Endocrine?

Episode 6x13 / Re: And we have closure on THAT topic...
« on: May 05, 2010, 11:08:58 AM »

Can't say I had much emotion in this episode. It's been along time coming, maybe the best episode with them at focus. Good episode though...

HEY GUY! Welcome back bud. As for this episode I didn't get too emotional either. Mainly because I don't really like Sun at all. Jin was alright, but it was a neccessary evil Now to address the people who think there is still ambiguity.

NO NO NO NO NO NO.  You are all wrong . The writers clearly state that he is the antagonist and needs to be stopped. They said those exact words. Quote it. I don't care how badly you want to be right, you are completely and utterly hopeless. All the speculation on that topic is over. MiB is evil and must not be allowed to complete what he started.

Writers Strike - You say he "Gave them a choice". He NEVER gave them a choice. That bomb was ending up on Jack's back the mmoment he took the watch from the dead guard at the Ajira plane. You are a complete idiot if you think MiB had any intentions of just hopping on the sub and floating away. That is not his end game as he clearly stated to Claire at the end as he grabbed his gun. He is off to "Finish what he started." He started killing the candidates off, and it is that he is off to finish.

nometicus - I agree that we don't know his motives at all. That IS true. However every homocidal maniac thinks his motives are pure. There HAS to be a reason he is being kept there. Do you think he is just an innocent column of black smoke that just wants to be loved and go volunteer at a homeless shelter? Probably not. MiB is trying to kill off all the characters we have grown to love over the past six seasons. I find that to be a pretty evil thing to do. I don't care why he is trying to do it, I just care that he is killing even more people.

No doubt the MiB is evil.  What remains to be seen, IMHO, is about Jacob.  Good, or evil in a way too and opposed to MiB for reasons other than good vs. evil?

I agree with this. No way we can yet deduce Jacob's motives and they may be a little more Grey. However they have been DRILLING this whole Black and White issue home. Maybe that's a little hint to us that this will be a good versus evil showdown.

NO!  No closure at all!  Maybe all that "Evil" Locke is doing is trying to kill all of them off because that is the only way they can reach that wonderful world in the other timeline....And if he fails it simply CEASES TO EXIST.

Please for everyone's sake stop putting Evil in quotes. He is EVIL. The writers said it themselves. When are all the people that are still clinging to the faint hope that MiB will turn out to be the good guy going to abandon that and allow some constructive discussion. All the sane people on here have to keep reminding you of all the evidence stacked against your "Hero." It gets tiresome. If he is just trying to kill them off so the Sideflash can occur than why didn't he let anyone else in on that. Why when talking about the island doesn't he tell people that this is all an illusion. Sure maybe they wouldn't believe him off hand, but I am sure some of them would. Or why didn't he tell Sayid that is how he could get his True Love  (Shannon) Back. All he had to do was kill off six more people. The zombie would have done it no problem if he wasn't sent to Desmond first. Desmond seemed to bring him back a bit. Or Claire. She's a bit loopey enough. Tell her she can have Aaron back if she kills the people pretending to be her friends. Tell her this is all an illusion and if all of them are dead then everyone can have a nice happy life in the Sideways universe. She'd believe everything he threw at her. The reason he didn't do these things is because that is not the case. MiB is Evil Incarnate. He wants to kill off everyone who stands in his way of leaving the island. His only reason for doing so is for his own freedom. He said as much to Jacob on the Log. When Jacob told him someone would replace him, MiB responded, "I'll kill them too." All this blinding evidence and still people agree to follow. This is how cults are formed people.

Also to those who say he is just doing what he needs to be free...and asking wouldn't I do the same. Would you say the same about a death row inmate who killed 20 guards in the process of his escape? That guy (or girl) is just doing what he needs to be free. All well and good right?

Amen, brother! MIB/Smokey is evil and must be stopped. If you cannot deduce that from what has happened this season, through last night's episode, then the writers telling you....he is evil and must be stopped...should just about do it.

Absolutely nothin!

That's hilarious, especially since I think I saw his van yesterday!
I was buying groceries yesterday morning and when I came out of the store a green VW bus was parked next to my car with a DHARMA license plate. I wish I had taken a picture with my cell phone.

It is not so strong, Claire, Sawyer, Hurley ans Sun all have ignored him.
So is it safe to assume that Desmond is not only not shot but possibly no longer stuck in a well?

Perhaps MIB only has a strong hold over the nearly dead.
Him and Miracle Max! (Princess Bride reference.)
Yeee! thanks, Holland!  You know how I love PB references ;D

I'm glad you two picked up on that...

I don't see the point in showing Smokey they can blow sh*t up when they had appeared to know enough about him (re: his aversion to electromagnetic barriers). Seems like a contradiction. Why would a Smoke Monster care if you can fire mortars with some degree of precision?

Are we to believe that every vision on or off the island was the MIB, or could it be only certain visions?
