Rebirth / Reincarnation ("The Next Life")

In "Tabula Rasa" (meaning, "blank slate," from the philosophy of the British philosopher John Locke), Ray tells Kate in a flashback, "I get it, you know. Everyone deserves a fresh start."  Jack also says in the same episode, "We should all be able to start over."

In "Solitary," Sayid reads to Danielle what Nadia wrote on the back of her photograph, "You'll find me in the next life if not in this one."

In "Outlaws," Sawyer is convinced that the boar who is targeting him is Frank Duckett, a man Sawyer killed when he mistook Duckett for the original SawyerLocke tells Kate and Sawyer a story about how his foster mother once believed that his foster sister had come back as a golden retriever.

In "...In Translation," Locke tells Shannon, "Everyone gets a new life on this island, Shannon. Maybe it's time you start yours."

In "Deus ex Machina," Anthony Cooper says "See you on the other side, son." to Locke, shortly before they are both rolled into surgery.

In "Do No Harm," scenes of Boone dying are juxtaposed with scenes of Aaron being born, implying that the cycle of life is continuing.

In "Born to Run," Kate burns Joanna's ID in a plan to get on the raft and rescued under her new identity.  Many of the islanders are given a chance at "a new life" on the island, but she is most notable for taking this literally.

In "Man of Science, Man of Faith," Desmond says to Jack "See you in another life, yeah?"

In "What Kate Did," Sawyer attacks Kate when he is delirious from fever, saying that she killed him.  This leads Kate to believe he might be a reincarnation of Wayne, who she had killed.

In "Dave," Dave tells Hurley, "See you in another life" shortly before jumping off a cliff.

In "?," Richard Malkin's daughter was believed by her mother to have been revived after passing away.  She tells Eko in the airport that she saw Yemi in "the in between place."

In "Live Together, Die Alone," right before Desmond turns the failsafe key, he tells Locke, "I'll see you in another life, brother."

The swan at the center of the DHARMA logo for that station is also a symbol used for rebirth in many religions.
