The Scavenger Hunt

THE HUNT BEGINS EVERY WEDNESDAY AT 8PM EST.

THE HUNT is a scavenger game hosted on this site. Each week, you will have to use a series of LOST-related clues to find information in the real world and on the internet. By putting the pieces of the puzzle together, you will find the solution to the weekly hunt. The first 10 people to enter a correct answer on this page each week will receive points (10pts for 1st, 9 pts for 2nd, and 8pts for 3rd, etc). Whoever has the most points at the end of the game will receive a Season 1 LOST-DVD set (possibly an autographed set).

RULES (Anyone who breaks these rules will be suspended from THE HUNT):
1) You cannot share information with other contestants
2) You must provide your email address each week when you enter your solution, this email address will be used to track your points (but not given to anyone)
3) You will be tracked by IP
4) You can only use one email address - anyone caught playing with multiple accounts will be banned
5) You can only submit one answer each week
6) Solutions will be posted each week for the previous HUNT. Study the solutions to help you do better on future HUNTS.

INTERNATIONAL PLAYERS:
You are welcome to play, but, you may have to help with the cost of shipping if you win. Also, the DVD format will likely be NTSC. If you require a different format, I will try to accomodate, but there are no guarantees.

PREPARE YOURSELF! To do well in THE HUNT, you'll need to know your LOST facts. The more you know, the better. Use this site, and others as resources. You're best friend in THE HUNT will be the GOOGLE BAR at the top of every page on this site.

HUNT 6 SOLUTION

1) The error page. Well, it wasn't really an error page. You should have noticed the numbers 815 and 42 in the error message and realized it wasn't an ordinary error message. Also, the function name LMN_JCE is similar to a clue used in a previous hunt, LEMON JUICE, which indicated there was hidden text. In the hidden text, the vertical left-most letters gave an URL to the hunt page for Hunt 6: http://lost.cubit.net/thehunt06c.php

2) On that page, was the puzzle. Again, note the unusual capitilization of FAST and FRIEND, which is a hint that the puzzle has something to do with the comic booc FASTER FRIENDS.

3) The puzzle tells us GARRICK's friend would be a CRAZY place to begin. Note that CRAZY is capitalized, which is a hint to start with the Crazy Lenny page. You should ask him about Garrick's friend. In FASTER FRIENDS, Jay Garrick is THE FLASH, and his friend ALAN SCOTT is the GREEN LANTERN. If you ask Lenny about Green Lantern or Alan Scott, he will reply: He's famous these days, quite the savior. You should search for him and, I mean in, Hollywood

4) The important words are GREEN LANTERN, SAVIOR, and HOLLYWOOD. If you google these terms together, you will find a site called hollywoodjesus.com, which has a Green Lantern page.

5) Back to the puzzle, the last parts says that at the end, you'll have to take your best guesst. This is a clue to look for a guest book, which you can find at the bottom of the hollywoodjesus green lantern page. The guest book contains an entry by Jay Garrick.

6) The entry contains this line: FA=FF Original Owner, which means FINAL ANSWER = FASTER FRIENDS ORIGINAL OWNER. On LOST, as far as we know, the comic that Walt reads was originally owned by Hurley, as we see him with it on the plane.
