THE HUNT is a scavenger game hosted on this site. Each week, you will have to use a series of LOST-related clues to find information in the real world and on the internet. By putting the pieces of the puzzle together, you will find the solution to the weekly hunt. The first 10 people to enter a correct answer on this page each week will receive points (10pts for 1st, 9 pts for 2nd, and 8pts for 3rd, etc). Whoever has the most points at the end of the game will receive a Season 1 LOST-DVD set (possibly an autographed set).
RULES (Anyone who breaks these rules will be suspended from THE HUNT):
1) You cannot share information with other contestants
2) You must provide your email address each week when you enter your solution, this email address will be used to track your points (but not given to anyone)
3) You will be tracked by IP
4) You can only use one email address - anyone caught playing with multiple accounts will be banned
5) You can only submit one answer each week
6) Solutions will be posted each week for the previous HUNT. Study the solutions to help you do better on future HUNTS.
INTERNATIONAL PLAYERS:
You are welcome to play, but, you may have to help with the cost of shipping if you win. Also, the DVD format will likely be NTSC. If you require a different format, I will try to accomodate, but there are no guarantees.
PREPARE YOURSELF! To do well in THE HUNT, you'll need to know your LOST facts. The more you know, the better. Use this site, and others as resources. You're best friend in THE HUNT will be the GOOGLE BAR at the top of every page on this site.

WEEK 3 SOLUTION
1) The first thing you need to figure out is, who is it that is writing this note. It is signed with the initials EAL. It is someone in SRMHI. A little sleuthing will tell you it is Emily Annabeth Locke, and that she is talking about John Locke - her son.
2) Then, you need to pay attention to the fact that SAM UPDATED HIS PROFILE. In Week 2 puzzle, you had to look up Sam Toomey on the Yahoo Member Directory. If you look him up now, you notice he has a homepage listed, which he didn't have before. The homepage link takes you to a 'Crazy Lenny' page.
3) The 'Crazy Lenny' page has a field where you can ask about people. If you ask about John Locke, it will tell you that Locke likes to sell stuff online as a hobby, and that Locke is listed in the same directory as Sam. It also tells you, to find what Locke is selling, use the numbers.
4) If you search for John Locke on Yahoo's Member Directory, you'll find one located in Tustin, CA. In the profile, it talks about selling a Message in a Bottle online. There is also a link to ebay.
5) To find Locke's auction on Ebay, use the numbers... search for '4815162342' and you'll find an auction for a message in a bottle. The message in the bottle is a word seek puzzle that you have to solve.
6) Once you find all the words in the word seek, you put them together in a sentence, which is something along the lines of "For the final answer find the title of chapter sixteen of Sawyer's book on Amazon.com" (I'm paraphrasing here).
7) If you ask Lenny about Sawyer, he will tell you that you are looking for the "Rabbit Book", which is Watership Down.
8) If you search for Watership Down on Amazon.com, you can "look inside" the book and read the table of contents to get the title of chapter 16 for the final answer:
