Pickett is the Other that Michael first spots in the jungle before he is captured by Tom. When Tom talks to Jack, Locke and Sawyer in the jungle, he calls for Alex to bring Kate out. Alex asks that Pickett bring Kate out while she talks to Michael.
Pickett later draws some blood from Michael and places it into a plastic bag for later analysis.
In 3x2, we find out Pickett's first name is Danny, and in 3x3, that he is married to Colleen.
Pickett is responsible for instructing Kate and Sawyer on their duties (breaking rocks and carrying them away), and shocking them with a stungun if they get out of hand.
After Colleen dies from being shot by Sun, Pickett flies into a rage and takes his anger towards the Flight 815 survivors out on Sawyer by beating him severely. He confronts Kate with the question of whether she loves Sawyer (as he once loved Colleen), and she admits she does.
Soon after that, Pickett decides that he will assassinate Sawyer at the cages in front of Kate. However, when Jack holds Ben's life hostage during the operation, he has to let the pair go. When he chases after them later, he leads a small group of Others that fire upon them. Juliet actually shoots and kills him in order to save Ben and take Alex back, allowing Kate and Sawyer to escape with Karl.
