Flight Seat #: Unknown

Claire is a young lady from Australia whose boyfriend, Thomas, left her soon after she became pregnant (she found out about her pregnancy 8 months before the crash of Flight 815).

Her friend Rachel took her to see a psychic one day for fun, who turned out to be Richard Malkin (who had once met Eko).  Malkin, who at first refused to see Claire, became concerned that her baby remain with its mother, and gave her a warning that harm would come to it if raised by another.

Claire, at this point, had already decided to place the baby for adoption, and left confused and bewildered.  She met with Mr. and Mrs. Stewart, prospective adoptive parents, along with their attorney, Mr. Slavitt for the final document signing.  Even though they promised to sing "Catch a Falling Star" to the baby one day (a song Claire's own father used to sing to her), she started to have second thoughts because of what the psychic said, and changed her mind at the last minute.

She went to Malkin again, who now wanted to pay Claire a large sum of money to travel to LA, where he said there was a couple waiting to adopt the baby.

Once Flight 815 crashes, Claire is stranded on the island with the other survivors, and has no choice but to keep the baby.  She has disturbing dreams about her baby coming to harm, and writes in her diary about a black rock.

While she is still pregnant, Claire is kidnapped by Ethan, who takes her to the Staff Station, drugs her, and injects medication into her belly which he calls "a vaccine" for the baby.  Claire sees that they have built a nursery for the baby that includes a plane mobile that plays the same song from her childhood.  He and the Others have plans to take the baby by c-section, but Alex and later Danielle help her escape and return to her friends, with partial amnesia.

She gives birth to Aaron, who is soon kidnapped by Danielle (trying to exchange him for Alex) before Sayid and Charlie recover him.

Claire later recalls many of her memories with Libby's help, and accompanies Kate and Danielle as they explore the newly discovered Staff Station.  She is distressed that she cannot find the medication, which she believes her baby now needs, because she becomes convinced that he has been exposed to the sickness.

She has been forming a bond with both Charlie, and then Locke, who have both helped her significantly in her care of the baby.  She rejects Charlie after she learns that the Virgin Mary statues he carries around are filled with heroin, and tells her not to come near her or Aaron anymore.  However, she starts to get closer again to Charlie and his finding of the medication/injector in the food drop solidifies things.  She kisses him shortly after.
