for replicating the same situation as Oceanic 815, Ben's going to toilet action may reflect Bernard.
Just a small note. =]

Charlie was in first class toilet and Bernard must have been in the tail section toilet.  Which one did Ben go to?

This is a question about something Ben said-just not on the plane. When he was talking to Jack in the church about the story of Thomas and Jack asked if he ever believed it. Ben says "of course he did _______" and that blank was not Jack. I could swear he called him John. I rewound it like 5 times. He did not say Jack. If anyone rewatches the episode please listen to this part and tell me I am not crazy!

you're not crazy, it did sound like John. But sounded more like "Jaaa" with the last letter undetectable. So while it seemed like he said "John" because you can't hear the "ck", I think it was just a really quiet "Jack". Or, he mistakenly called him John and let it slip out in a midwestern or Bostonian accent. :D

Jack is a nickname for John.  Maybe he was being formal.  I'll have to listen to it again.  Did anyone record it with closed captioning?

Yeah, I was pretty sure he called Jack "John" too but I wasn't sure why . .

according the transcript posted on Lostpedia:

JACK: So was he?
BEN: Of course he was. We're all convinced sooner or later, Jack.

he went up to the front like Charlie did.
Yes.  Somebody had to be in the lavatory, like Charlie was.  We still need a wheelchair.....

No we don't, because if you remember correctly, the flight attendants told Locke that they could not find the wheel chair they usually use for handicapped passengers, so the bigger attendants carried him on. If you want to get really technical about it though, Locke is fulfilling three roles by being dead. He's taking Christian's place as the body in the coffin, BUT he actually is John Locke so he's on the plane, and because he's dead, he can't walk, and I'm assuming that someone had to physically put the coffin where it is on the plane, so Locke got carried on again. LOL, that's pretty funny SOL, jump started my brain there.

I think Ben was intentionally calling him John. Do you have a friend who's really annoying (we'll call him Bob), and then you have another friend (let's call him Brian) who starts acting like Bob, so you insult him by going, "Ok, whatever you say Bo...er...BRIAN" Well I think this is what Ben was doing. I think Jack is becoming the "man of faith" that John always wanted him to be, and Ben is pointing out that Jack is turning into John.

Ben went to the toilet and called Jacob with his magic box to get special  people beamed out the plane to the island!

If Cindy is/was an off-Island Other, Ben may be her proxy.

I wondered about this Ben comment:
Jack: How can you read?
Ben: My mother taught me.

We all know that isn't true....hmmmmm
