Ben has 70 hours to get the oceanic 6 together. It does not appear that the Losties will be apart for that long.

yea I guess this is when the island and the people on the island will be in the current time. As in they will all be back to 2008 or 2007 whenever that scene took place

Unless Ben gets them to the island at whatever time the island people are in. They could go back to the island and it is 1970s

And that could be why Dan was there building a hatch?

It is 70 Hours because she was calculating where and when the island will be in that time. Lets say the island will be 2 miles off shore of LA in 70 hours for a time frame of 20 minutes or so and then it disappears again.

Check out Mrs Hawking's secret time lair. The computer screen shows ten 'twinkling star' patterns, which probably represent probable island locations in the Pacific/Indian Oceans. This suggests that while the island is jumping around in time, it is jumping around in space to these probable coordinates. None, tho, are anywhere near LA.

Did Daniel say to Sawyer that it wasn't the island jumping around in time, but that they were?

unless the whole of season 5 just shows us those 70 hours... so far, no shots of O6 back on the island in any previews, right?

Did Daniel say to Sawyer that it wasn't the island jumping around in time, but that they were? See, that's the thing that is confusing me. I feel like the Island did "move" somewhere in space and time... but the people on it (Sawyer, Juliet, Locke, Faraday, etc.) are the ones that are skipping around in time. So what happens when the O6 go back? Do they go to the "real" present-day Island? Or do they go back to the time/place that the Leftbehinders are skipping around in? (I can't shake this headache, and I think my nose is starting to bleed!)

Have you guys seen Madam P's ideas on this? The Island is moving in time & space. This was shown by the Beechcraft @ the beginning & then Ms. Hawking's calculations @ the end.
Are we absolutely sure? I mean, if the island was the one thing that stayed put while time moved, then the space beneath/around the island would move just by virtue of the Earth's rotation as time goes by. That probably makes no sense. It does in my head, for just a minute, once in awhile... LOL. I think this is the best way to explain it. http://lost.cubit.net/forum/index.php?topic=8391.0
