I'm really tired of hearing "fans" trash Lost.  I'd like to see you write something so stinking perfect that there is nothing to complain about, nothing to pick apart.  It's a show, and in my opinion it's a great show- it's not worth the time to rip it apart... I'm interesting in enjoying it.  No one is making you watch it.

i think that smokey is the brother combined with the power of the island.  why else would he most often be seen as the MIB, and why else would Jacob speak to him as if he is his brother? I'm missing where some people are thinking the smoke monster just came to be and is not related to MIB going into the light.

Remember back in season 2, when Eko came face to face with the smoke monster? And the monster read his thoughts, and you only see the good things that Eko did. Then the smoke monster just took off, because he was good, and therefore could NOT kill him. Later in season 3, when Eko said he did not not want forgiveness, the smoke monster was then able to kill him, because now he is bad. That is why the smoke monster, disguised as John Locke, has to make someone else kill Jacob. He can NOT kill Jacob because Jacob is always good, and did not do any bad things. So, the smoke monster can only kill people who were bad.

the smoke monster can do whatever it wants, but it clearly can't kill the candidates.  And as we learned last night, mother made it so he could not heard Jacob and vice versa. 
i know i'm saying this assuming the smoke monster is actually the brother, but I believe that's true--- the smoke monster takes on the image of the dead, jacob talks to his brother in the future (after he was killed) as if he is still his brother and i think that's because Jacob knows Smokey is his twin brother... in spirit and mixed with the islands "light"

Thinking of this raised another question in my head -- what are the chances that, once the O6 do whatever magical thing it is that they're supposed to do to stop the time-flashes on the island (if that's what they do), that they'll be in the "right" time when they do it?  (Or has Locke already stopped the time-flashes when he adjusted the wheel?)  In other words, aren't the odds astronomical that everyone will be in 'Dharma-time', or '1950's time', or something else, rather than in 'the-helicopter-just-took-off-from-the-beach' time?  Will they have to re-live part of their lives, or will they be in the future?  And if they have to re-live, will there be two sets of them?  Ack.

Edit:  Actually, someone elsewhere pointed out that since we saw Jin in a Dharma uniform and in the van last night, maybe they've been stuck in Dharma-time for three years already, ever since Locke went down the well.  So yeah... never mind...

They are time traveling, so they wouldn't have had to be there for three years... the 6 caught up to the ones who were still on the island when they time traveled as the plane was crashing. 

Locke isn't supposed to stop the time traveling, Desmond is.

I thought Kate gave the baby to Claire's mom, but I wouldn't throw the Cassidy theory out.  I think Sun's daughter is with the grama and Sun thinks she'll get Jin and get off the island.

As far as why would Kate give up Aaron- the thing is, Kate is unnaturally attached to Aaron, like he fills some need she has that we are not aware of.  I also think that if she went to Claire's mom and explained that her daughter was "missing" or lied and said she was dead, and that they didn't tell the truth about the baby because they didn't want him to get hurt, Claire's mom would walk away happy as pie to have her grandchild.

By the way, I think Claire's creepy boyfriend (who looks like a young Ben) will come back into play.

Locke falling into the well flash was pre-dharma, Sawyer held the rope for some one later to find and dig a well.

The well was there before Dharma and then filled in.  Sawyer still had the rope because it was a physical object in their possession, so it traveled with them.

I think the 6 are now traveling in the same time flips as Juliet, Sawyer, Jin, physicist, psychic, and angry chic. 

I also feel a wee bit suspicious that the plane crashed in another time.  When the 6 hit the island, they traveled through time, then the plane crashed in modern day, leaving all others on board to crash sans the 6.  But, they wouldn't notice, and they probably have a whole 6 seasons worth of stories about their time on the island!

The station could be another hoax, or they're lying about what to do with it.  They lie... that's what they do.  Also, if Widmore has a station that can find the island, then why is Widmore desperately seeking the island.  Did I miss something?

I think they were trying to not be obvious.. but also I think it showed they were all torn about their decision.  Even Jack was questioning the situation when he was speaking to "Mrs. Hawking"

my first thought was Ben is at an airport, he just looks like he's traveling...and then the thing about the machine being a security machine confirms that for me.  I think he came off the island and was being watched...he's on the grid!  So, Abaddon's people got the picture and sent it with the Freighter people.  I think it would be too presumptuous to assume he's working for DeGroot and he's on the island.  I think it's too far-fetched to pin down a time when this photo was taken.

How is the Black Rock not Danielle's ship?  Didn't she call it "my ship?" 

The Losties identified the Black Rock as an old slaver. Likely well over 100 years old.

Ok, I am not in any way disputing this, so don't take it that way, but how does that mean it's not Danielle's?  Did she said her boat broke apart when they came to the island?  And why is she calling it her's?    I mean, I agree, it would make sense that it not be her ship, but I must've forgot or missed the details on this issue.

Did anyone notice that they didnt show who Faraday was with.  I find this kind of odd that they did not show her face.  I think it will be somebody that we have seen before.  If it was just some random person i think they would have just showed us who.  Unless of course it is someone that they repeatedly use as an extra and dont want to confuse by having her appear in different places, and not really mean anything to the story.

I saw this as a story telling device. If they just show a man watching a news report of the discovery of the wreckage of a downed plane and sobbing about it, a viewer is likely to presume he knew someone on the flight. You put in a background character asking "Why are you crying?" for exposition purposes, all the while focusing the camera only on the crying man, it tells us that this is unusual behavior and makes us make note of it.

that's what they wanted you to think!!  LOL

Little off topic, but I think they are after them for more than the purge. I see a scenerio that Ben went off island to get finacial support for his work. They are heavyily funded by someone. He then went back to the island not to be found again. Either he did not do what he promised or he took funding and left. Just a con artist like Sawyer.

It is just a hunch.

Oooooh, intriguing good point...Ben conning someone for cash, fitting in with a major theme of the show!  I like this!  This may be the people who came in for Juliette's trial.  They show up every now and again, Ben puts on a good show, like everything is just fine, Heinz ketchup with a Dharma logo keeps dropping from the sky.


I don't think the freighter folks are there to avenge 815, I think it's just that they are aware that the plane may be there, hence they studied the manifest and everything about it so they knew what they were up against.
