Episode 3x18 / Re: Link between pregnancies and no cancer?
« on: April 27, 2007, 08:59:43 PM »
Aaron (possibly like Ben) was also born on the Island. This is possible because Aaron was not conceived on the Island. That is why Claire and Aaron survived. If Ben really was born on the Island, it does not mean that he was necessarily conceived on the Island. And that is why Ben (and his mother?!) survived.

Episode 3x18 / Re: Juliet: "I hate you."

Juliet is obviously very manipulative and simple logic tells us that she should not have been trusted and brought back to the Losties' beach camp (they've got nothing to gain and everything to lose). I am personally torn as to whether she is essentially good or evil, but until we see a flashback episode for anyone other than the Losties (our heroes, the good guys), I am forced to believe that Juliet is good and will do the right thing in the end. I feel that flashbacks are reserved for the good guys.

Episode 3x16 / Re: Herarat Aviation
« on: April 14, 2007, 10:30:01 PM »
Another wonderful possibility that I've seen mentioned is, instead of an anagram, Herarat is actually a homonym. Consider Ararat, as in Mount Ararat (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mount_Ararat) - the supposed resting place of Noah's Ark where the only animals left in the world began the task of repopulating the planet.

Episode 3x16 / Re: Who else is on the island?
« on: April 14, 2007, 10:20:18 PM »
Well Danielle's crew were around then, Henry's Hot Air Balloon, and Yemi's plane crashed on the island.
I guess anything that loses control around that area is magnetised towards the island.
Maybe there has been plenty of crashes on the Island, and usually many survivors (due to the whole 'curing' thing on the island). Possibly Mikhail is jumpy of anyone 'foreign' to the island finding things they're not supposed to

Don't forget about poor old Emilia Earhart and her navigator. Looks like they might have crashed on this island, as well. Can anyone say "Adam and Eve"?

Episode 3x05 / Re: Were the producers lying to us?
« on: November 04, 2006, 08:24:12 PM »
Arzt--that reminds me--there have been stupid characters before.  Hoping this set are going to meet their end soon as well...or melt back into obscurity at the very least...

I can't decide if it's just the writing or if their acting is just that bad!

I think many of us are holding on to the hope that TPTB will pull another "Artz" and kill off an incredibly annoying character (or two) to simply appease the viewers afterwards. The only problems are:

1) The character of Artz was written as annoying, but was deftly played by a skilled actor. I maintain that, partly because of a brilliant setup by the writers, Artz blowing up was the funniest moment in all of Lost. Meanwhile, these two Johnny-come-latelys are backed by what appear to be two weak actors (with weak writing to support them):
"When were you planning on telling us this, Hurley? (Glass Ballerina)" *obnoxious smack*
"What's Eko looking for?" "His brother's body's in that plane. (TCOL) *Captain Obvious smack*
"The toilet still works. (TCOL)" *painful attempt at comic relief smack*

The other reason that I don't hold much hope for these red-shirts annoying us till they die:
2) It's already been done.

Here's hoping I'm wrong...
