Episode 3x03 / Re: How did they survive the implosion?
« on: October 20, 2006, 11:05:00 AM »
I agree that they were briefly displaced, although I'm leaning towards parallel/alternate dimensional displacement.

Some of my questions are...

1. How could the hatch be thrown so far away when everthing else imploded? Was it violently ripped off & flung by something?

2. Why did Desmond run away from Locke? Don't give me that 'he was naked & shy' stuff..he's European! Something spooked him.

This sucks!  Not your poll, but the fact that I know TPTB said NO TIMETRAVEL.  I like displacement, but that is a form of time travel.  I don't know what the answer is.

TPTB pretty much said NO to EVERY THEORY so far! There are really only a few things not offered up...let's see

1. Magic...is this a magical place?
2. Alternate/Parallel dimension...maybe this has even been theorized on?
3. A sort of mass hallucination or hypnotism.
4. Everyone on the island are training to be angels or demons.

hate to say it, but I'm lost!

Episode 3x04 / Re: Preview Discussion
« on: October 20, 2006, 02:10:35 AM »
It's amazing how differently ABC and CTV promo the show.  Two vastly different angles are explored in each of the promos.

They really do show vastly different things! Questions...

1. Who is yelling "do you love this guy...do you love him"? It is NOT Ben, despite how the preview makes it look, IMHO. Of everyone we know of it sounds most like Desmond to me.

2. What does Kate appear to say at the end? Is it "I love him"...I don't think so, but maybe...furthermore I bet that most of the audio doesn't go with the video being shown. I put my money on the "do you love him?" means Jack, not Sawyer.

3. What con is Ben trying to pull on Sawyer? That they injected him with the sickness (the rabbit as proof)? That Kate loves him? That he can escape (just to be re-captured)?

well so it is!  Damn 70's bubble lettering!

Magna Carta (Latin for "Great Charter", literally "Great Paper"), also called Magna Carta Libertatum ("Great Charter of Freedoms"), is an English charter originally issued in 1215. Magna Carta was the most significant early influence on the long historical process that led to the rule of constitutional law today. Magna Carta was originally created because of disagreements between Pope Innocent III, King John and his English barons about the rights of the King. Magna Carta required the king to renounce certain rights, respect certain legal procedures and accept that the will of the king could be bound by law.

I was thinking that Locke not being able to speak seemed to be psychological and maybe the same holds true for his former inability to walk...

He could only speak "...once he had something to say..." or something like that...anyone have an exact quote?

Also..he said he had to "talk to the island"...could Boone have represented the island?

...there was some force that pushed out (for example, the hatch door) and then later in.
It is logical, I just don't think it is survivable.

Ok, but the hatch door (isn't that redundant ???) was at the outer most part and I dare say that Locke & Dessie were at the dead center.

Refresh my memory..Dessie turned the key but where was Locke in relation to him at that moment?

The one on the truck Locke was driving in the flashback. They seemed to make a point of showing it at least twice...maybe some significance...or a red herring!?!
