Episode 6x01 / Re: Weird Looking Dude on 815
« on: February 08, 2010, 06:30:23 PM »
I don't know. I'm sticking with my Santa theory.

-Santa hasn't aged in hundreds of years like Alpert
-Santa is able to warp time, hence his ability to delivery toys to children all over the globe in 1 night
-Santa can change forms like Smokey so he can fit through all kinds of chimneys
-Santa is from the Arctic where polar bears live

Too many coincidences for there not to be a connection. I'm starting to think that the Island is really Santa's Workshop, and the Others are his elves.

Episode 6x01 / Re: Why do we know Jacob's name but not MIB's name?

Season 6 / Re: So, where's home?

Season 6 / Re: Isn't Smokie supposed to be a wimp?
« on: February 06, 2010, 09:16:31 PM »
I guess there have to more than one Smokie!

Otherwise it wouldn't make sense that Richard never met Smokie/MIB since the french team arrived / dharma built the fence to keep Smokie out...I guess Jacob has a Smokie-form too...
i bet if he does its white smoke

Episode 6x01 / Re: Choices Lead to Consequences

I also think Jack switched from being "Man of Science" to "Man of Faith" when he started seeing Christian off-Island, and Locke came back and told him he'd seen Christian as well.  So I think those I-believe-in-Fate choices fall into a different category for me.

Does being touched by Jacob mean you're "destined" to do something specific?  Maybe, but I think Jacob's touch is also possibly a one-time resurrection "Get Out Of Death Free" card -- he brought Locke back to life immediately, and now Sayid has come back to life after what should have been his death.

lol@ get out of death free card... nice analogy

or could someone have stolen Chrisstians body?

Episode 6x01 / Re: What was the signficance of the "dirty water?"
« on: February 06, 2010, 08:56:13 PM »
I'm going to go against the grain and say Jacob did not inhabit Sayid's body. I think something may have changed Sayid (like it changed Ben) but I don't think Sayid is now Jacob.
i wouldnt be surprised if sayid starts wearing guyliner and never ages.....

Episode 6x01 / Re: Jack

Since this is a Jack thread, let'd discuss the big issues - like what happened to his hair? No more 2004 buzz cut, he's still rocking out in his 1970's Dharma hair with graying sideburns. What's up with that?

I also got the impression that when Jack looked at himself in the mirror on the plane that he was noticing he was older.

As soon as I saw him on the plane I thought the same thing. I thought it was amazing that makeup/wardrobe managed to get the other actors to look like they had in season with Jack looking so different it had to be intentional.

Carlton Cuse also pointed out in the Jimmy Kimmel interview that Jack had one less vodka bottle on the plane. Maybe parallel Jack doesn't have a drinking problem either.

The stewardess giving him an extra bottle doesn't mean he has a drinking problem. LOL Unless...does alcoholism give you the ability to affect another person's actions?? That would be awesome.

Maybe (like the implication in Mango's post) the alternate timelines have been bleeding together all along. The dock at New Otherton looked pretty decimated back in S5 when Locke and Ben arrived so Ben could be judged.
Ah man, good point! We never really saw anything that would explain how it got that way. Not saying this definitely explains it but its a possible indication that the two timelines are having an effect on each other.

but.. but... didnt you spot as he was pouring the vodka into his glass the turbulence knocked his arm so it didnt go in and spilt... like he's not supposed to drink it - destiny/fate/higherislandforces are stopping him from becoming an alcoholic... yeah a stretch but my head was mashed with the only recognising Desmond thing.

and the mirror thing earlier in this thread - agreed - Jack double take because he looks older all of a sudden, like the last few years didnt happen

hello peeps, just thought i'd stick my head in, and what do i see? a million evil spammers cluttering up the site. tsk... would never have happened in my day lol! This lounge is looking decidedly untidy!

missing you all loads, still plodding from one crisis/disaster to another. dreading christmas this year, desperately need a lotto win!!

catch you again soon

another month passes....

so in the last month Mr Dizzy is in for an umbilical hernia op - poor baby, we are in court with the kids mother fighting against visitation rights (she aint getting any, she's 7m pregnant with a pedophiles' kid, she's drunk, and the kids hate her - she aint going no where near MY kids) I settle into my proper job doing buckets of overtime, the kids get back into school routine, and we are broke again. No heating or hot water in the house (any SWLS plumbers out there?)

All this and only 78 days to christmas.

Missing you all loads, will make more of an effort to stop by and visit, promise

Love to Lil for missing me back and sending me funnies... mwahhh
ho hum.. life goes on.

well i guess we won that one too JB!! the campsite was close to the Thames, but the nice clean and leafy end of the Thames where there is fishes and swans, not the other end where there's shopping carts and gangster bodies!

if I could afford to ship all the equipment I'd camp in chicago next year but its looking like i will only be able to afford sending you a cake. :( I sooo need a winning lotto ticket!

to those who havent camped before - do it, It's great fun!.... Britain went camping crazy this summer EVERY supermarket had bargain priced equipment, and i reckon every attic will be stuffed with things that wont see the light of day again until next spring!

i cant believe its back to school on Monday. and only 110 days to xmas. Something out there is sucking up the days.

we spend over 800 on camping equipment this summer, and its rained almost every weekend since. where's the logic in that? If only I had a huge empty room to dry all the kit in then we'd camp every weekend. Sitting huddled round a crackling fire toasting crumpets listening to a kid on the bongos in the next tent. the sound of the tent zips opening and closing in the middle of the night followed by heavy footsteps and the sound of someone falling over guylines, searching for the torch for the trek to the toilet block. the smell of bugspray, firelighters and babywipes. having muddy feet and dirty fingernails and not really caring all that much. hunting for dry firewood amongst the bracken and prickly undergrowth, and the buzz of finding a fallen branch just off the path. watching the kids play frisbee with complete strangers squealing with excitement and enjoyment, like they've been friends for years. the daily rituals of pumping up the airbeds and trying to find a dry teatowel to wipe the dead wasps out of the crockery.  back to basics treasure hunts, find me a feather, flower, nut, bug, leaf as big as your hand etc.  But its the fire that fascinates me. glass of wine in one hand, and sturdy fire pokin stick in the other, chewin the fat, getting a red face and cold back

yeah. i love camping. it's great fun.

this random post brought to you by the procrastinator staring at the hundreds of bags and boxes clogging up the dining room who just cant be bothered to haul them up 2 flights of stairs for them to gather dust in the attic until the next ray of sunshine.

love to all.... miss ya. really must keep in touch better.

omg people guess what? ::) ;D :D ::) :o :) ;D :o ::)? I got offered a contract finally!!! I've been temping at the same place since end of january and they finally bit the bullet and decided to make it more semi permanent! I have a contract for 6 months full time, then there's a girl off on maternity leave so I think I'll be ok for a good while! I am sooooooo relieved!!!!

Big apologies for not treading the boards recently, I've been neglecting you and shall flog myself as punishment. My faboo hubby has just finished burning this season to disc so I'll be rewatching again soon and catching up on all your wacko theories. (And I dont mean MJ there btw)

Kids are having a blast with Granny on their summer hols this week. We are off camping for a week in August (first time since I was a nipper!) down to Daisy-ish country so are looking forward to that. Millie still isnt dry by day, but she understands it's wrong now at least. Beth, bless her heart, my poor Beth was flashed at by a total pervert on her way to school one morning which has completely knocked her confidence. She's getting better but doesnt like walking alone anywhere. Both big kids had a set back when we had to cut off contact with their mother and maternal grandmother completely last month - they (the mother/g'mother) are not sticking to the rules of the protection order and we just cant risk any harm coming to them. So in many respects I'm glad it's done. but it's been a bit emotional.

What else..... erm.... I'm watching Jack in Vantage Point right now... and missing LOST terribly.... Saw Speed Racer last week too.....

Well i'll leave you that lil nugget to digest. Thanks all for looking in on me from time to time. Nice to see familiar faces on Facebook popping up, hope you all are well too.

Special thanks to Lil for keeping the thread nice and tidy!
