I disagree Juggy. I think the preview indicated Jin and Sun as the final members of the O6.

But if that's not the case (we find out next week) I'll gladly post "Juggy Was Right" after the Epi :)

Episode 4x06 / Re: So Mister Benjamin Linus..... and his buddy Smokey
« on: March 07, 2008, 02:00:55 PM »
IMHO It was smokie.

Smokie takes on the form of someone pulled from the mind of the individual it is trying to communicate with:

Christian --> Jack
Walt --> Shannon and Locke
Yemmi --> Eko

When Eko first encountered the smoke monster he saw visions of people he had known in the smoke (see screencap thread from previos seasons, I believe it was season 2).

In order to believe that it was actually Harper you would have to subscribe to the following:
1. While Ben is locked away he somehow knows that Charlotte and Daniel have left the beach
2. Ben also has to know somehow that they are going to the Tempest
3. Ben also has to know what they are going to do while at the Tempest
4. Ben has to communicate with Harper (who is presumably at the Temple with the rest of the Others)
5. Harper has to coincidentally run across Juliet as she is chasing after Charlotte and Daniel, shortly after leaving the beach (30 minutes or so) and not too long after Charlotte and Daniel had left. So Ben had to be able to see into the future and send Harper out a day or two BEFORE they left the beach to go to the Tempest (or at least hours before they actually left the beach).

Occam's razor "All other things being equal, the simplest solution is the best."

Hence, Harper = Smokie

Ben couldn't get laid in a woman's prison.......That creepy dude must have used a jedi mind trick to get some woman pregnant.

Women are attracted to power more than looks. Doesn't matter how creepy you are... if you have power women will be attracted to you.

As evidence may I present to you Mr. Bill Gates :)

Episode 4x06 / Re: The Therapist's Eyes
« on: March 07, 2008, 01:37:47 PM »
Exposure to the sun can alter eye color, particularly in those with green/hazel eyes. The eyes may appear grayish after periods of sunlight deprivation and then get greener as they are exposed to more sunlight. Changes in either melanin or lipofuscin can alter eye color (due to age, sunlight, etc.).

Kate should've threw off her pack and commenced to beating the snot out of Charlotte at the Tempest.

That would have been hotness  :P :o

It's most likely Michael (based on the preview they showed after last night's epi).

My problem is this: Naomi said that flight 815 had been found and everyone was dead. When Michael arrived at the freighter you would expect the first words out of his mouth to be "We are survivors of flight 815" right???

Only solution is that Michael arrived AFTER Naomi left in the helicopter... but I'm not sure it fits the timeline.

Exactly what I was thinking Roger. They weren't sick, they were "unstuck".

Good catch.

I think you may also be onto something Forever.

Episode 4x05 / Re: Widmore doesn't have a problem with Des
« on: February 29, 2008, 12:07:46 PM »
Widmore was arrogantly confidant that Penny had dumped Des for good, so no need being a jackass towards him anymore. "Hell, I'll even give you Penny's address so she can shoot you down herself."

This was it exactly. he thought she would dump him for good. She was not nice to him during the call or the visit to her place.

If that's what happened, it was putting an awful lot of trust in "the fickle heart of woman."  Daddy was banking a lot on Penny's staying ticked at Des.  That just doesn't seem characteristic of him, to me -- he seems like the type who never trusts anybody, even his own daughter.  But, we don't have a lot of canon details, so maybe Penny's his weak spot...

I am married with two daughters, and I put an HUGE amount of trust in the fickle heart of a woman :)

Look, Desmond knows Widmore hates him.  He cares, but seriously...how many of us guys haven't dated a girl whose Dad hated us?  Once you learn to handle it, then it's hard for them to really make you feel bad.  Now, once you've broken up and THE GIRL hates you...well, that's a whole new ball game, and I think Widmore knew that.  When he says what he says to Desmond, he's really saying "Hey, I'm not your problem anymore.  You want to talk to someone who REALLY hates you?  Here's her address.  And, it will be even worse because you actually CARE what she thinks, which I know is not the case with me."

That's what I think he meant by bringing up the fact that Penny would have married him if they hadn't broken up.  I think he's recognizing that he can only hurt Desmond so much because Desmond doesn't like him either, but PENNY can REALLY hurt him, so he's glad to turn Des over to her for an emotional beating.

Not a problem for me since my daughter is forbidden to date until the day after I die :)

Season 4 / Re: Season 3 finale - The Coffin (again!)
« on: February 27, 2008, 08:57:31 PM »
We know 4 of the O6, how do you get 7?
Aaron wasn't listed as a passenger. Jack was really upset that the person died. Honestly, It could be anyone but Kate, Jack or Aaron.

There are 6. Aaron was still in utero on oceanic 815 so he's not one of the oceanic 6. The person in the coffin can't be someone on oceanic 815 or there would have been 7 and not oceanic 6.

The other two members of the oceanic 6 are spoilers, so I won't post here. There are Jack, Kate, Sayid, and Hurley so far. If the spoiler about the other two oceanic 6 members is correct, then neither of them is in the coffin either. So that leaves us with someone who was not on oceanic 815 or at least not someone identified as having been on 815.

Season 4 / Re: Season 3 finale - The Coffin (again!)
« on: February 27, 2008, 04:26:31 PM »
My two cents:

Since we have the oceanic 6 and not the oceanic 7, I'm leaning towards it being someone who was NOT on the plane because

(a) we know it is not Jack, Kate, or Hurley.
(b) if the spoilers are true then two of the other oceanic 6 can be ruled out also (since this is spoiler-free I'll leave it at that)
(c) i believe that the obit said that he was survived by or found by his son (correct me if this is wrong), thus I'm surmising that Sayid is out of the question.

Michael seems to be the best guess except he was on oceanic 815 and thus it would be the oceanic 7???

Ben is a good guess (but he does not have a son, does he?)... maybe we will learn more later on ???

Miles? Faraday? The Pilot? I recall one of the podcasts saying that we have already met who is in the coffin (again correct this if it is wrong), which would rule out these three guys.

John Locke (JL), John Lantham (JL).... Oceanic 7?

Need more input...
