Episode 6x16 / Re: So it's left to our imagination
« on: May 29, 2010, 12:06:07 PM »
I agree that if Cindy and the kids had stayed in the Temple they would have been killed in a heartbeat.

But a small point: Zach and Emma's parents were not killed in the initial crash. They were traveling alone and were to be met in LA by their mom. So they have living family elsewhere. In my version of events up inside my brain, Hurley sends them home with Desmond.

ETA: Now I see they said on the popup "LA X" that the parents were killed. So is that revisionist history by the show writers or a mistake by the popup writers?

This is going nowhere. Locked.

Episode 6x16 / Re: Nadia

Everyone who knows how much I obsessed over Lost asked me what I thought of the finale. I said every time, "I loved it! Except for the Sayid/Shannon foolishness."

I really wasn't surprised that Sayid ended up with Shannon.  His happiest time was the time he spent with Nadia, but the most important time in his life was on the island.  That's where he redeemed himself.  That's where he changed into a better Sayid.  I'm happy with the Sayid/Shannon reunion.

This makes the most sense of any way I've tried to look at it. Because otherwise it just makes Shannon a booby prize.

anyway, i think this will be my last post here.. of course i may be wrong, but we'll see. i've just been frustrated at all the negativeness in this forum about the finale, i literally can't read anymore bad reviews by angry fans. i'll definitely check up to see the recaps, i love those :) and maybe i'll check in every once in a while... thanks sledge for all your hard work, and thanks to all the mods and admins and others who have kept this forum going all these years... you guys are all a great bunch of people!!!!

-with much LOST love
hurley rocks dudes-- also known as Jason :D

First off thank you! ( for anyone who doesn't know I write those and as soon as my brain gets unmelted by the finale I will have new ones up!)

But I did want to make one point. This forum is exactly designed to hash out what we ALL thought of the finale. It's not "Sledgeweb's Lost... Stuff for people who liked the finale ONLY" so I don't think it's fair for anyone to say (and I'm not singling you out, Jason, because a lot of people are saying it) like it or get out. It's almost as if people are taking others opinions too personally.

Person A: I loved it.
Person B: I hated it.
Persons A & B: OMG, what is wrong with you??

Can't we all just get along?*

(oh, yes I did!)  ;)

I think it should be a law that you can't use the term jump the shark for a finale because it renders the term moot.

Speaking of diversity, noticably missing from "heaven": Eko, Michael, Walt.

my take on Eko was that he moved on with his brother. Yemi meant more to him than the 815ers. That's why we saw him and his brother walking away arm and arm right after he died in "Cost of Living". Michael already told us he can't move on, hence he couldn't be there. Walt grew up and went on with his life and hopefully met other people and had other family it was more important with whom he moved on.

I don't see where I'm all worked up and I guess I don't understand what point you're making. Do you believe the whole six season involved dead people in purgatory?

And Sun got pregnant.
On this "mystical" island/ waiting room..... for heaven

When she was on the island, got pregnant left the island and had Ji Yeon that was all real.

The baby sun was pregnant with when she was shot by Keamy... I have no idea why she was pregnant actually... especially if it's the soul of Ji Yeon who has died at some point in her life, probably as an adult and then moves over to the afterlife as a fetus... ???

when did everyone else die?  when did they begin the afterlife?  What caused them to die?

some before Jack, some after Jack.
The afterlife is timeless, they all met at that place, not time.
Some of them you saw die. The ones that died after Jack, could be anything, including old-age.

maybe it was an answer to one of the oldest questions we had: what happened to the wreckage? It didn't float out to sea and sink, it just went down island to another beach! It's been there all along!

wow! That was awesome GJ. Was that your son singing? QUITE a voice! I hadn't been able to watch til now because my laptop is too slow for youtube, had to get a better machine!

Thanks for sharing!

Episode 6x16 / Re: Who WASN'T at the church and why?
« on: May 24, 2010, 11:30:28 AM »
I loved how Eloise show a little weakness when she asked if Desmond was going to take her son.  She had said none of them were ready, but I think it was just that SHE wasn't ready yet to move on and didn't want to lose her son.
I took the church scene to mean that they were moving on to a better place, but that this was a just a small group of people that were closely related to each other.  Dan, Miles, Frank, etc. would move on another time in their own ways with the people who were special to them.  Still others may never move on (Michael) or need more time until they feel they deserve to move on (Ben).
And the world is full, I'm sure, with characters who will be moving on in a different direction altogether.

THIS!!! Exactly!

Take it easy, no one is being the the thought police. This is a discussion board. People try to sway opinions with arguments. No one said you have to believe what they do or get out. If you're not open to discussion about other possibilities then why bother posting? As you said, everyone is entitled to their opinion, and disagreeing with yours is no worse than you disagreeing with theirs.

That is my point.  I'm suggesting another possibility.  And the response I get is "you're wrong."  I've never told anyone else they were wrong.  In fact, I had the same theory as they did up until the credits.  That's when I changed my mind.  I'm not saying I'm right or wrong.  It just my opinion.

Emphatically telling someone they're wrong is annoying yes, but not out of bounds. You were beginning to creep over to another level by taking the argument to the "thought police" territory. That was all I was trying to point out. Frankly I feel your opinion is as incredibly valid as any others, even though I've decided, for my own personal sanity, that the wreckage was more of a memory/homage than any indication that everyone died on Sept. 22, 2004.
