Episode 6x16 / Re: Positive thoughts on the finale
« on: May 26, 2010, 10:03:34 AM »
Hurley being the leader. I mean that is the coolest thing! Name one person who would do a better job!

Yeah, how was Christianity front and center?  The whole point was that they were meeting together in some kind of purgatory/limbo situation.  Christianity doesn't even believe in purgatory.  I think that's just a Catholic thing.

LOL...This was kind of funny to me. "Christianity doesn't even believe in purgatory...I think that's just a Catholic thing." The reason it's so funny to me is Catholic's are Christian. To be Christian one has to be a follower and believer in Christ. Catholics are just that. Not sure why people seem to think Catholics are not part of Christendom. I'm not Catholic, but I am an ordained minister, and just wanted to throw my two cents in.

Yeah, when I watch the Kimmel special I saw him lay out this theory. I thought it sounded kind of cool.

I also have no issue with Kate. I do feel she's been under utilized this season. So if she were to die, it wouldn't bother me.

I'm with ya. I totally thought there was going to be some amazing electromagnetic thing happening. Then when that didn't happen, I was expecting Locke to go all Smokey. Then that didn't happen. I thought the whole scene was a let down.

Sawyer: "Who the hell is Anakin!"

According to Lostpedia, Kate's name was in the cave as number 51 and it was crossed out. Lostpedia references an interview with Carlton Cuse, where Mr. Cuse says as such.

I saw that and thought the same thing.

Episode 6x08 / Re: Why did he bury the necklace?

Yup. Symbolic.

It could have been the Black Rock. We've seen day turn to night before. The Ajira flight is a good example. Clear skies, and all of the sudden it was night, and stormy. Same thing could have happened.

Episode 6x08 / Re: Jacob Baptizing Richard

I think you're reading too much into it.  But of course, you are welcome to your view points, since there are many to be had in the world of Lost.  But I still just think he was proving a point, nothing more.  And it was probably more effective than beating him with a rock.
I can't see how I'm reading too much into it since Lost is pack to the brim with religious symbolism. The symbolic baptism in this case was incredibly blatant, to be honest. Not sure why this moment should be any different than the multitude of others during the show's run.

Dude...I got to tell you. I saw it too. The first thing I thought was, "Wow he's baptizing him, and he's now born again!"

My wife said it's the Garden of Eden. Which means the island is a testing ground for a chosen what happens when those few that pass leave?

Pretty good. I like it.

Also, I noticed that it is unlikely the ship we saw in the S5 finale was the Black Rock.

Just thought the same thing myself. I wonder what that ship was.

Episode 6x06 / Re: How long since Sun saw Jack and Hurley?
« on: March 11, 2010, 10:22:03 AM »
Sun was on the plane with Jack, Kate, Hurley and they disappeared.
She was happy to see them alive and safe.
That was my take on it. Relief that they were alive.
