To be clear, I guess I was surprised JB was dissing season 5, so I went back and clicked on a few of the episodes in S5, and he had rated them all at a 10.  I only checked two or three, so I didn't do a thorough-enough sample.

I was not suggesting that he change his voting.  I was merely pointing out what I, in error, perceived his voting to have been, which was in contrast, I thought, to some of his comments.

And it does make sense to me that we all have different scales.  Sometimes, for me, they really are 3s or 4s because there are episodes where I have felt that weren't really adding to the show.  But I am fine with people not feeling the same way.  That's what I like about this rating thing.  We all have different opinions, but then the summary and scale somewhat represent how we cummulatively feel about the episodes.

This season is ten times better than season 2 and 5. Every single episode so far has been brilliant, with the exception of LA X, which was only mostly brilliant. Evil Sayid, although I might want him to be good, is totally awesome. Best Naveen acting in three years. They actually made Claire's character interesting, gave O'Quinn something to do instead of leaving him dead, and Nadia being with Sayid's brother is simply saying that not everything is perfect.

EVERYTHING they have done this season is working. Working very well, in my opinion. They are making up for the confusing and less-than-spectacular penultimate season they had. I understand being a little more critical, but hey, if you think they are going to do what you want them to, you've been watching a different show than I for the last 6 years.

I would just like to point out that you basically gave every episode in season 5 a 10.  i.e. your rating system does not take into account the possibility that some episodes are better than others.

I gave it a 7 because even though I was SOOOO happy that the storyline is really going somewhere, it was just so sad to see Sayid fall back into his murderous ways once again.  At some point in Sayid's storyline, I was hoping for him to stick to some decision that turns out for his betterment.

I feel like I don't know Flocke very well, except that you can count on his deceitfulness.  It's like Ben was channeling him during all of season 3.

I wonder where Jin is?

the second season of LOST, our tv had crap reception (bunny ears), so we couldn't see half the clues and important things on the show. So we'd (my dh and I) wait with baited breath for all the investigations to be up on this site so we could see what we'd missed on the stupid tv!

And you were the one that introduced me to this site because you e-mailed me links to SWLS screencaps!  Ah, yes.  I think it's actually my four year anniversary of this site this month.  Crazy.  Thanks for e-mailing me those.

Also, this thread became very SWLSish for a while there by being hijacked by flirty bantering.  And THAT, my friends, is a huge part of the SWLS memories.

Totally.  Sometimes I feel like Hurley is the LOST character embodiment of fanboys and fangirls who theorize about LOST all day online.

I gave it an 8.  It gets rated higher because it followed a Kate episode, and every episode seems awesome after a Kate episode.  I would say that the most enjoyable part of this episode was when they buried Locke.  The eulogy was awesome, and the whole group dynamic at the grave site was fantastic.

I gave this a 9 because I love Hurley.  He was cracking me up during the whole episode with his comments, like with Obi-Wan.  Also, props to this episode for being a bearable Jack episode.  As one of my friends says, "The only thing worse than a Jack episode is a Kate episode."  But seriously, this one was pretty good!  Also, is anyone else totally weirded out by crazy-eyed Claire?  Yeah.  Absolutely.  Her face makeup is quite lovely for being so otherwise dirty and scary-like, but she did some pretty good crazy eyes.

Also, we got a glance at Jack-face.  WooHoo.

Jin's leg grossed me out.  Totally.  Sick, people.  Gross!

Um... yeah, and also, there was this hilarious Old Spice commercial.  But, I guess that has nothing to do with the show.

I gave this episode a 4 because:

1 - It is a Kate episode, and blech for Kate episodes,
2 - The only mystery that I don't care about here is whether she actually killed her dad in this timeline, and
3 - I am so over the Sawyer/Kate sexual tension, ... oh wait, I never really liked it.

I gave it a 9.  I really enjoy the juxtaposition of the island with the alternate story, even though it is against my personal time travel beliefs.  It makes it feel more like the entire show is a chiasmus.

I gave it a 9.  Anyone who votes 10 is easily pleased in my opinion. j/k  I just had to contradict JB's character judgment.  You know.  I had to just for tradition.

That was a great episode.  It's amazing how the writers weave the answers into the episodes.  This episode was fantastic in that regard.  I am so glad that they decided on a number of seasons to finish the show.  I think that the time limit helped maintain the story and creative integrity of the show.  I love that the episode ended with the bomb explosion, but a part of me hates it, as well.  Because of that, truly anything is possible on Lost.  There can be so many theories but the destiny truly lies with the writers.

I love this show, but I hate it so much because it teases me.  But I like how there is so much continuity.  It's so awesome that Lost can do shout outs to itself in these later episodes.  Like when Sun finds Charlie's ring, etc.  Way to follow-up, writers.  Nice job.

I just don't buy alternate reality as a viable option.  Ever.  It doesn't work for me.  I think that it is something that people made up so they wouldn't have to worry about consistency and potential flaws.  Made up just like elves, gremlins, and eskimos.

Oh, and if you go see it, pay attention to red shirts and ... um "the hatch" on the frozen planet.
