Thank you for voicing my opinion, GJ, about how it had a "Titanic" ending.  And that's actually one of the things I hated about "Titanic," so I couldn't give the episode a 10.  But I did give it a 9.  I really enjoyed all of the characters getting together with their constants in the end.  That was nice.  Mr. Eko seemed to get the shaft this season, but I guess you have to draw the line somewhere, don't you?

I knew Frank wasn't really dead.  I just wasn't convinced.

I have this nice relieved feeling about the show being over, and I think that's probably a good sign.  There are no questions that will bug me about the story, and I guess... it's a teeny bit underwhelming that they pulled the a "Titanic" ending, but I suppose I can live with that.  Interesting.

I gave it a 5.  It wasn't a horrible episode, but I felt like the episode could have been done in a shorter period of time.  And it was almost like a different show again because the characters weren't the same.  Clearly, this episode was important to the entire storyline, but I guess I'm just not very invested in those characters.  And really, I'm kind of tired of the repetitive storyline of people needing to be on the island to protect it.  Yeah, we got that in season 2.  Carry on.  They answered the Adam/Eve and Smoky questions, but now I am left to wonder, "who cares?"

9 - I like it when stuff happens.  Stuff happened.  Yay!  Caught up with my ratings!

7 - Pretty good.  The story was going somewhere.

I voted 9 because I love Hugo.

I gave it a 7.  I liked it, but I think that the show is just cruising until the finale.  There was nothing huge to me in the episode, but it was still enjoyable.  Good to know that they still drink McCutcheons or whatever it's called.  Eloise was looking very Barbara Bush... Penny was playing the role of Jack running the stairs.  It was all good.  And I also really liked the Charlie thing.

Also, as an aside, and since I know he'll see it, I've noticed that on Twitter people seem to be fighting over whether JB is Jonas Brothers or Justin Beiber or whoever, and I'm just saying that to me, JB will always be our JBRam from SWLS.  That is all.

I gave it a 7.  It was classic Lost, but I guess that classic Lost is getting a little old to me.  I like Sun and Jin, and I'm interested to see what the conclusion is to their story.  Sometimes I wonder if the candidates are people who end up having their loved one die on them at some point or people who have to sacrifice being with a loved one for the good of the island/the world/whatever.  Kind of like Richard.

Maybe not.  I'm just glad we're on the home stretch.

Episode 6x08 / Re: Biblical References

Also, I think that with such a heavy prop use of the cross, it's pretty clear that they're at least intending us to infer some Christian symbolism from this episode.  Lost has been pretty heavy in various religious references, not just of Christianity, many of which have been mentioned on this board throughout the episodes.

Episode 6x08 / Re: Biblical References
« on: March 25, 2010, 03:31:00 AM »
The biblical references that stick out to me:

- Richard seems to be representative of a prophet.  Jacob can't directly tell them, so instead, he sends a messenger, i.e. Richard to do it.
- Jacob as a loose symbol of Christ has to sacrifice his life for the good of all people.  He is the one that keeps the man in black from claiming the world.
- There are some who believe that the apostle John didn't die (per St. John 21:22), so that could be kind of a Richard/John similarity.
- I still have yet to see the man in black eat or drink, which is symbolic of Satan never having received a mortal body.

There are more thoughts I have, but I'll just leave it at that.

Community Lounge / Re: MARCH MADNESS!!! SWLS LOST...Brackets are back!

It's so funny how bad my brackets are this year.  I love the upsets.  The only one with a prayer of doing well is one I have on espn.  I did 3 different brackets this year.  I think this is the worst I've ever done.

Oh well.  Even Obama is doing poorly, so I guess I shouldn't feel badly about it.  Who could have predicted all of this madness?

I gave it a 9.  I don't think that I could give it a 10 with so few of the other characters involved.  I kind of enjoyed that I felt like I was watching a Spanish period movie towards the beginning, with a tragic romance.  I also like that "Satan" is referred to as "the man in black."

It was interesting and different.  And very serious.

I gave it a 7.  I liked that he was a cop.  It was interesting to me that he was a cop, but he still didn't tattle on Kate with her cuffs in the airport.

It wasn't the best episode, especially for a Sawyer episode, but it was alright.  I think I might just like Sawyer as a snarky side character hanging out with Hugo.

As I said before, I wasn't thinking or implying that they should.  I think it must have been other people implying that.

I gave it an 8.  I love Ben.  I am so glad that he got his redeption, and I maintain that he is still one of the creepiest characters on the show.

Anyway, this episode was pretty moving, I thought.  I really enjoyed Ilana's and Ben's interactions, as well as Flocke's and Ben's interactions.  They were great.  Seriously, great.

Not so moved by Jack and Richard, but that was a good scene at the Black Rock, and I really appreciate Hurley and his cheese curds.

I love how it ended with the Widmore sub.  Awesome.

Also, I'll have to go back and see how I rated it, but I'm sure I didn't give it a 10.  Anyway, I still love the episode "Through the Looking Glass," and if I didn't give it a 10, I probably should have.  It may be one of my favorites.  Sometime we should all do a "Top Ten List" of our top 10 favorite episodes.  It would be cool to see what everyone says.

I looked, and I gave it an 8 because I didn't like the Jack stuff.  I guess I kind of try to ignore that these days.  You were right, JB, it did get better after multiple viewings.  And THAT, is a good episode.
