The whole fertility aging thing still doesn't make sense to me in relation to the Others. If there is an aging problem then why live on the island? I could understand if there was a possibility of the rest of the world being destroyed and the island having the only life on earth, but season 2 finale showed that there is an outside world. Biologically, I don't see how a womb can age faster than the rest of a woman. And I don't think the actual people are aging any differently. It's a big leap for a 26 year old to age 44 years. The Others would be showing signs of aging by now, such as Juliet who we've now observed pre- and post-island.
