I won't even describe what the spoilers are, except to say that some pretty major stuff about at least the next two episodes have started to come out on line, and since we're coming down to the wire, anyone who doesn't want to be spoiled ought to be very careful going online for the rest of the series.  I don't see it as a problem here on Sledge's site, but certain other sites are infested with people too immature not to get their jollies ruining it for other people.

Episode 6x16 / Pilot episode being re-run day before finale...
« on: April 23, 2010, 12:59:37 PM »
ABC announced they are re-running the pilot episode on Sat., May 22.  I wonder if this is being done to refresh folks memories for some major finale-tie-ins to the pilot ep.

Episode 6x12 / MiB brought Sayid back to life?
« on: April 21, 2010, 02:22:55 AM »
Are you guys buying this?  It seems certainly to be what Zombified Sayid thinks, but did MiB really do it or did he just take credit for it?

Episode 6x11 / Jack contrasted with Locke...
« on: April 14, 2010, 02:26:37 AM »
I thought the exchange between Jack and Hurley was quite poignant, especially as compared to John "Don't tell me what I can't do!" Locke...

Hurley:  Then why'd ya come with me?

Jack: Ever since Juliet died - ever since I got her killed - all I've wanted is to fix it.  But I can't.  I can't ever fix it.  You have no idea how hard it is for me to sit back and let other people tell me what I should do... but, I think maybe that's the point.  Maybe, maybe I'm supposed to let go.

Hurley:  Unless you letting go gets us killed.  Going to see Locke was my idea, not Jacob's.

Jack:  Hurley, you asked me to trust you.  This is me trusting you.

Jack finally gets it, whereas Locke never did, probably never could.

I can't help thinking of that scene from The Life And Death Of Jeremy Bentham:

KATE: Have you ever been in love, John?
LOCKE: What?
KATE: I think about you sometimes. I think about how desperate you were to stay on that Island. And then I realized... it was all because you didn't love anybody.
LOCKE: That's not true. I loved someone... once. Her name was Helen.
KATE: What happened?
LOCKE: Well... it--it... it just didn't work out.
KATE: Why not, John?
LOCKE: I was angry. I was... ob-obsessed.
KATE: And look how far you've come.

Locke could never let go - and just when he maybe, just maybe might have started to, Ben offed him.

Season 6 / Actors / TPTB's plans for life after Lost?
« on: April 12, 2010, 01:00:41 PM »
So from what we know so far -

Elizabeth Mitchel is doing V, and Daniel Day Kim is doing Hawaii Five-Oh.  I've heard Evangeline Lilly wants out of acting, and I think Mathew Fox has stated no more TV for him.

Do we know if any of the other actors have any specific plans for their next projects or what they'll be doing next?  Darlton?  Josh Halloway?  Neveen?  Nestor Carbonalle (should be cast as Ted's evil twin brother on Better Off Ted, me thinks!)

Episode 6x10 / Widmore's Test of Des didn't make sense...
« on: April 07, 2010, 03:04:56 PM »
Widmore told Desmond that the Island isn't through with him yet.  We know if the island isn't through with you, it won't let you die.  Surely Widmore with all of his island knowledge must know this as well???  So testing Desmond to see if he can survive another "catastrophic electro mangnetic event" doesn't make sense, does it?  There's no way he can die until the island is through with him.

Episode 6x10 / Sacrifice / Upcoming Electromagnetic event?
« on: April 07, 2010, 01:41:08 AM »
So what is the upcoming catastrophic electromagnetic event that Widmore needs Desmond to survive?  Why?  Does it have anything to do with His Royal Smoky-ness?  And what sacrifice does Desmond need to make?  Ishe the only one who can do it because he must first survive some sort of catastrophic EM event?

Episode 6x10 / What was the rabbit's name?
« on: April 07, 2010, 01:08:41 AM »
Enstrom?  I think that's what he called him?

Decided to unleash my inner Doc Jesnsen.  Best I can find online for whom that might be a reference to is:

Axel Fredrik Enström

(from Wikipedia)
He was born on August 21, 1875 in Stockholm, Sweden. He graduated from the Royal Institute of Technology. He later earned a Ph.D. from Uppsala University. From 1896 to 1908 he taught physics and electrical engineering at Royal Institute of Technology. From 1903-1916 he was a partner in an electrical testing station and he carried out consulting and investigative activities in the electrotechnical field for Sweden. In 1916 Enstrom was appointed to the National Board of Trade.[1][2]

Episode 6x08 / What's with the names? Ricardo -> Ricardus???
« on: March 24, 2010, 12:30:08 PM »
Maybe I'm missing something, but how did the guy who in 1864 is being called Ricardo end up in 2007 being called Ricardus by Jacob and Ilana?  Why the name change?

Episode 6x08 / Bad news for the candidates?
« on: March 23, 2010, 11:38:22 PM »
Smokey tells Jacob, if someone takes Jacob's place, he'll kill that person too.  Does that foretell bad news for whichever candidate "gets elected"?  Is there going to be a death from among Jin, Sun, Hurley, Jack, etc.?

Episode 6x08 / Black Rock Journal?
« on: March 23, 2010, 11:30:45 PM »
So if Smokey, er, uh, smoked, the entire Black Rock crew, how did its log / journal make it back to the mainland for Widmore to later purchase at the auction?

Episode 6x08 / Please help a couple of things I missed...
« on: March 23, 2010, 11:28:57 PM »
The dialog was a bit hard to hear in a few places...

How did the statue collapse?  Did they say the Black Rock hit it?  If so, how did it hit it high up enough to do that?  Did the water suddenly rise up?  And how did the ship end up so far inland?  I thought there'd be a clear explanation of that, but it seems like it was totally glossed over?

Episode 6x09 / The title refers to (speculation)...
« on: March 20, 2010, 02:32:44 PM »
Whatever is in the locked room on Widmore's sub?????

Episode 6x08 / In order to see Ab Aeterno before next Tuesday, I'd....
« on: March 18, 2010, 03:40:07 PM »
(Yes, all of the above)

Episode 6x07 / Sawyer, Jughead and the timeline branch?
« on: March 17, 2010, 01:21:32 PM »
I thought Sawyer's line last night to Charlotte about why he decided to become a cop.  To paraphrase:

"I guess I just reached the point in my life where I was either going to become a cop or a criminal"

Was this alluding that the timeline did in fact split?
