Episode 6x12 / Re: MiB brought Sayid back to life?
« on: April 24, 2010, 09:34:21 PM »
I never took on board before the idea that MiB and Jacob were the same entity, I think the word 'trinity' has been mentioned, along with the Island, MiB and Jacob, all one and the same, make up the trinity, but now I am swaying to that idea, its seems to make as much sense as anything else I can think of right now.

Which could make even more sense if we had Jacob and MiB, accompanied by Widmore representing the Island and all its powers.

Regarding lunch, aye we are still on work permitting, Im in the Saturday night but should be OK to meet up the Sunday - keep me posted on your movements and have a safe journey over here  :)

If so, why did Jacob sent him over there to be health ...

Just made me think, would it be possible that MiB, upon Ben killing Jacob, used the form of Jacob to speak to Hurley?
We know he used other dead folk to do his bidding so why not Jacob?

I can answer my own question to a certain extent, that Ilana said he was stuck in John Locke's form now, but since when? The exact moment Jacob was killed, the moment he took on Locke's form, only Im not so sure, has he not appeared to Claire as Christian since then?

All I am thinking is that it seems strange Jacob told Hurley to take Sayid to the temple, he must have had an idea the spring was 'spiked' with evil. So maybe MiB appeared to Hurley as Jacob to take Sayid straight to his murky pool?

Episode 6x12 / Re: sun recognised locke ?

Madam P, I am in agreement. I have been an advocate that MiB is essentially the good guy (and Widmore :)) but this last episode has me thinking Im wrong. MiB (and Widmore) seem to have taken a step into the dark side, MiB seems very sinister right about now.
I cant quite put my finger on it but I get a very uneasy feeling towards MiB, the only saving grace is that maybe his beleif is that if he is sucessful all the people he killed will be alive and well in the LAX timeline - he killed them for a greater good and they all live happily ever after in his ideal world.
Widmore, who I have always thought was essentially the good guy seems to be doing his damnedest to be a real 'dick' as someone quite aptly put it.
But it puzzles me, as Jacob also seems to have done some nasty stuff too - all 3 cant be the bad guy can they?

Episode 6x11 / Desmond the 'Red Shirt'.....
« on: April 15, 2010, 07:39:09 PM »
This season we have seen at least Hurley and now Desmond in red shirts.

We have Jacob - White shirt, MiB, Black shirt and now Desmond (and earlier in the season) Hurley in red shirts.

I saw this mentioned in another thread about Michael telling the joke back in season 1, 'whats black and white and read (red) all over?', at the time it didnt seem relevant but now looking at the last few episodes could there be another team in the game - team red?

This episode we also saw Hurley with the red flower just before Michael showed up and Des definatley had a red shirt on, also we saw Hurley earlier in the season with a red (albeit a worn out red) shirt. Other occasions that spring to mind are the red paint Desmond spilled in 'The Conatant', also the guy in red shoes (same episode I think, was run over by a car).

So I am wondering if we have team Jacob (white) and team MiB/Locke (Black) whats the relevance, if any, of team Red?

Appologies if already being discussed but I couldnt find anything recent, feel free to merge, thanks.

Episode 6x11 / Re: Who is the young boy???
« on: April 14, 2010, 07:06:23 PM »
Some great thoughts here, Id be going with the idea that its the same kid, a young Jacob, seemingly getting older..... and a decent possibility that he will soon be his adult self again.
Its also fair to think that the two kids are Jacob and MiB, possibly twins or brothers.

Picking up on the scene where Des was thrown down the well, im looking at it from two different angles at the moment.

The most likley is that it could be the same well that Locke went down (in the time jump) and ended up with a snapped leg, right next to the donkey wheel? Good chance Christian will pop up down there again and tell Des to turn the wheel. As Des is known to be able to withstand more electro magnetic energy than the average cat could he turn the wheel all the way without being spat out in Tuniaia?

Second and more unlikley idea is that MiB Locke has memories of Lockes dad throwing him from the window, a big fall followed by an audience with Jacob. He knows Locke survived (most likley due to Jacob's interaction) so he does the same to Desmond? Im a bit stuck as to what i would expect to happen but its a back up idea in case the first idea is wrong.

My only idea on him running Locke over at the end is that Des may be of the assumption that they can all only live in one of the two time lines, killing ALT Locke may, in Desmonds mind, mean that Locke survives in the real timeline. Nothing to back it up as yet but thats my innitial thought.

Some good points in this thread but I have to go on record as saying that I am almost certain that TPTB will not be using that bastard Hitler as any sort of reference in all of this, if they do then I think they are opening a very, very big can of worms.

Season 6 / Re: All those who think ALT = Original...
« on: April 04, 2010, 08:43:59 PM »
I am still going with the timeline 'splitting' in 1977, with Jughead.

What 'splits' time, I am not sure yet but we have 5 seasons of a timeline that ends with 815 crashing on the Island thanks to Desmond not pressing the button and this season where 815 does not crash where by either Desmond presses the button or there was no button to be pressed.

After seeing the Island under water in LA-X then thats why I am thinking Jughead maybe sunk the Island, and so there was no button to be pressed.

As we are seeing so far this season, the Island along with Jacob and MiB is well and truely afloat, so with next weeks episode...

I erased because this is a no spoiler thread.

Episode 6x06 / Re: Guess the candidates 'special powers'......
« on: March 25, 2010, 05:58:50 PM »
After reading a few posts I think we have an idea of what Jacob's gifts could be to the candidates (and maybe others):

Richard - eternal life.
Hurley (and Miles) - communicate with the dead.
Jack - Healing?
Sun/Jin - ability to have a child.
Locke - ability to walk again.
Kate - ability to draw in a couple of million red blooded males to watch a show that was on it ass a couple of seasons back!  :P

Sawyer - no idea.... wish I did, but no, I have absolutley no clue what his gift could be.

So, I was thinking these 'gifts' may only work on the Island, particularly in the case of Locke and the kwon's but no, that dosent add up either as Hurley saw Charlie off Island and Jack 'healed' off Island too......

Now i am more confused, I just hope Sawyer dosent 'bite the bucket' before we find out what his gift is.  ;D

I have thought for a long time that Rose and Bernard are Adam and Eve, as alot of people have, however I am inclined, upon previous misleads by TPTB, that Rose and Bernard travelled back to the present on this occasion and are NOT A+E.
The reson we havent seen them yet is because IMO TPTB want us to continue thinking they are dead back in '77 and are actually Adam and Eve, so when we get the A+E reveal it will be more of a shocker when its not them.

Just to add, totally agree with the physics thing (Think of the statue being built of layers of bricks like the pyramids were (as someone pointed out) rather than a plaster cast lump of concrete, then imagine a Lego replica and hey presto, easy to imagine it toppling under a toddler's enthusiasm never mind a slave ship and tidal wave!).
Also I'd disagree that Jacob wasn't pissed about his statue being destroyed, he certainly looked a little miffed as he opened a can of whoopass on poor Ricardo! I hope Jacob was well placed (hopefully on some sort of latrine) when that boat hit his statue, otherwise he will be getting Richard a pair of rubber gloves and a scrubbing brush!.

Episode 6x08 / Re: Black Rock Sailed in 1845.......
« on: March 25, 2010, 05:27:06 PM »
I think it can work:

- 1845: sails from England
- "goes dark", as they say in 24
- 1867: acquires dynamite, visits Tenerife, picks up Ricardo - still off the books
- washes up on the island

Yep, I'd probably go with this, maybe add that the ship was 'stolen' between 45 and 67, not sure yet, but for now I'd rather think it adds up rather than an error by TPTB.

LOST Talk / Re: Into the final season - Favorite Character(s).....
« on: March 22, 2010, 09:17:38 PM »
I cant beleive there is no love for Charles, I am very disapointed in all of you :)

I just hope that in the end everyone (who doesnt love Widmore) will say, OMG Greg was right, he was a friggin' awesome character, a real good guy, we got him so wrong......... or maybe not :)

Widmore is for me the most interesting character, and IMO the most misunderstood - I have faith, Charles will come good in the end.

BTW, yeah I like Hurley but kind of like I like old Tom and Jerry cartoons, they are OK for a comedy fix but arent exactly life changing, but like I said, there is only one moment in the show that yanked on my emotional chord, when Penny's boat tips up to rescue the O6, the reunion between Penny and Desmond was bloody awesome in my book.
