Sure, seeing JT win was great.  A really nice guy who was loved by all is now a millionaire.  But, the most important thing about this win is that I won $160 in our Survivor pool. ;D

Congrats- you buying drinks?
It's paying for my Guys Camping Weekend.  Every year, between 18 & 24 guys go camping for a weekend in early June.  Beer, steaks, more beer, smoked ribs, more beer... nothing but eating and drinking for 48hrs.

My wife was certain Adam would win... I told her that I thought it'd be Kris.  My reason being that I didn't think the majority of callers would be into his theatrics.  I can appreciate his vocal range and his talent.  It's his over-the-top approach to the songs (typically) that gave me reason to believe he wouldn't win.  I'm really glad Kris won because it'll give him that much more of a chance to succeed.  Adam's going nowhere... he didn't need to win the competition to have success.

Episode 5x12 / Re: Locke pulling a Clark Kent?
« on: May 19, 2009, 05:00:36 PM »
Locke = Smokey? ???  I don't get that.  If Ben hadn't told John to hang back, John would've gone with him to see Smokey.  And, it wasn't like John ducked out.... Ben had fallen, was John supposed to jump down?  John had to go find something to get Ben out.

I agree with the conclusion, but not your reasoning.
Wait... what??  You don't agree with something I said?  LOL

I was trying to illustrate that John wasn't making an effort to slip out of the picture in order to play the role of Smokey (which he'd have to do if they were the same and Smokey was ever going to appear).

How do you agree with me on Locke not being Smokey but disagree with my reasoning?  I'm not saying this is the only reason they can't be the same... just that it does support the fact that they are not the same.

Well, if I was on the flip side of the arguement saying that Locke is Smokey, then I would say that john went to get something for Ben to climb out of the hole at a very opportune moment when Smokey showed up. Plus, on top of that, Ben screams up "John, wait." And Locke still walked away. It's not like Locke didn't hear him.

And now I am on the flip side of the arguement. Sorry. LOL
It's all part of being a Lost viewer.  We're pre-disposed to being wrong.

I'm with anything inanimate being in the box.  A device, a weapon, a religious artifact... anything like that.  I just can't buy that it's a body.
I was just as surprised as you.

You know, I'll accept that it was a body (not that I have a chance to not accept it really), I'm just glad the cryogenicly frozen body of Widmore, or whoever wasn't in there.
Like you, Bob, I'm very glad it wasn't a body of someone else (which was what I was thinking when I said I didn't buy that it's a body).

No, no....Adam NEEDS to win.  I will lose all hope for the show if he doesn't.
Sorry hatchy, but I do not like adam at all. He is a one trick pony with his screaming at the end. I would never buy any song by him
I don't believe he's a one trick pony.  However, I do believe that he's been acting like one more often than not.  He needs to get it through his head that he doesn't have to show his range (read: scream) each time.  His best performance was Mad World.  He needs to show more self-control.

And you never know but you might just see juggy and his family on the telecast.
I know you're going to record it.  But, have you set a limit on how many times you're going to replay Danny's home visit before accepting that you didn't get on camera? ;D

What a crazy season finale last night.  I recorded it so I could skip commercials and I actually had to pause it during the last couple minutes for a "wtf?" moment.

Episode 5x15 / Re: Going to kill Jacob
« on: May 12, 2009, 08:20:44 AM »
Also, I think we're leading up to Walt's dream.  Locke states he's going to kill Jacob.  Ben tells Richard.  Richard has an issue with this and informs the rest of the group that this can't happen.  This is where Walt's dream of John being surrounded by people intent on harming him is realized.

I totally forgot about Walt's dream. Nice catch Shakey. That is some good stuff right there. Might explain how Ben still gets to kill Locke (like Smokey/Alex said), but doesn't actually kill him. Maybe Ben does his manipulative thing, and tells everyone about Locke's plan, and then plants the seed about kiling him to save Jacob.
Thanks.  That's exactly what I was thinking, too.  Ben will never become 100% subservient... this is his opportunity.

I think Richard knew about Jacob before Locke mentioned him in 1954.  It seemed to be the thing that got Richard's attention and made him listen to Locke.  I don't think Jacob started with Locke's statement that he was sent by him.

Something that bothers me is that the gunshot seemed to hit Desmond in a non-critical location.  Hell, he gets up and beats the crap out of Ben.  Then, he's in critical condition at the hospital???  I'm sorry but adrenaline will only do so much.

I'm a big fan of The Office.  I them on dvd, too.  I also get the Dunder Mifflin newsletter sent to my work email.  A buddy here in the office signed me up as a joke... HA!  Joke's on him!

Jug, you must've been pretty happy this week.... your top 2 were America's top 2.  I was shocked to see Adam getting the 2nd fewest votes.  Maybe he'll take it down a notch and not act like he's already won.

Sylar was the only saving grace this past season.  And, now, he's gone until he remembers he's Sylar and not Nathan.  I never liked Nathan.. and, I disliked Angela even more.  Even Suresh and all his drama bores the hell out of me.  Like Razzle, Peter still being able to only have one power at a time has gone on way too long.  I loved it when Peter kept adding to his arsenal, becoming the ultimate fighting machine.  The only cool thing I saw in this episode was finding out that it was Peter disguised as the president.  That was it.
