LOST Talk / Contacts?
« on: June 07, 2010, 04:24:22 AM »
Hey Guys

I kind of have a favor to ask of anyone that may be able to help... I have a REALLY good idea for a "LOST Universe" novel or novel set. Kind of like the "Star Wars Expanded Universe." It would sort of be like fan fiction but I'd like to actually apply myself, write a book and mainstream it. I have some very good thoughts jotted down (sorry, I can't share them) And I was wondering if anyone here (like those folks I see posting that are "in the loop") knows who to contact and how to contact them to get permission to write literature using the character's names and likeness' from the show. Thanks in advance for any help you may be able to give me. If you'd like your help to be private, please feel free to message me on the boards and I'll give you my e-mail address if you'd like to chat there. Thanks again!

Episode 6x15 / Did Richard get Boba Fett-ed from LOST???!?!!
« on: May 18, 2010, 11:10:19 PM »
...If that's the end of Richard, I'm TOTALLY not impressed. He's like the coolest character on the show and BAM! in 2 seconds he's gone in a very uneventful, unfulfilling way. Boba Fett was killed on "accident" when Han Solo couldn't see... Richard deserves better than that.

There I feel better now that I vented lol

****AGAIN THIS IS A LONG READ, MY APOLOGIES****

I'm going to try my hand at a literary comparison. (you guys are way better at it than I am lol) Anyway, I used to watch the show "Supernatural" before I couldnt handle that show anymore because of some of the corniness... I once saw an episode with a wishing fountain and an ancient coin. The original wisher (used the ancient coin) to wish for the woman of his dreams who never gave him a second look. The coin worked and proceeded to give every wisher (no special coin needed) any wish they desired. The catch was that every wish eventually turned bad. The woman the original wisher got turned out to be over bearing to the point where she killed women for looking at "her man". One of the main characters on the show wished for a cheesesteak hoagie which he later threw up because of bad meat that tasted delicious... How does all of this relate, you ask?

I beleive it has everything to do with MIB and the alternate timeline... Let me set this up for you a little bit here:

Sayid- Wants Nadia to be alive and happy
Kate- Wants Claire and Aaron to be together
Claire- Same as kate
Hurley- Wants to not have bad luck
Ben- Wants a good relationship with his father
Jack- Wants to prove to himself he has "what it takes"
Sun and Jin- Want to be together, no matter what
Sawyer- Wants to avenge his parents
Desmond- Wants the approval of Charles Widmore

I left out a few people because in the island timeline, they're dead. I feel like their lives in the ALT are not going to have any bearing on this theory. This theory is based around the fact that in the ALT all of the losties who are alive in the island timeline will get what they want the most in the ALT, thanks to the MIB, but with a twist that keeps them from realizing it to the fullest potential.

Examples in ALT:

Sun and Jin are together, however they are not married and Mr. Paik wants no part of Jin being with his daughter. Also, she tells Jin she was pregnant after she is shot in the stomach, this means it is highly likely that Ji-yeon will "cease to be" as Widmore stated

Jack's dad still dies, but he now has a son. Through his interactions with his son, he realizes that his own father was completely wrong about everything negative he said about him. The irony here is that Jack always wanted his father to be proud of him... That never happened.

Sayid also got his wish, Nadia is alive and well in the ALT but Sayid doesn't get to have her... how cruel is that?

Kate and Claire sort of go together. Claire gets turned down by the expected adoptive parents of Aaron and then thinks she's in labor. Kate helps with all of that by bringing her to the hospital and making sure she's allright. The twist here? Kate is still a fugitive on the run. I haven't quite figured out the Claire twist...

Hurley still won the lottery, becomes a business owner and nothing bad ever happens to him... We've yet to see what may be a twist here because we haven't yet seen his ALT story. This week's "Everybody Loves Hugo" should shed some light on that.

Ben Finally has a relationship with his father... To boot, he has a great relationship with Alex. The only thing he had to give up was his power, the thing that means the most to him in the island timeline

Sawyer is kind of a tough one. He already avenged his parents death in the original timeline, but in the ALT he will do it as a cop, at which point, he would basically courtmarshalled if he just outright kills a man. In the original timeline, he gets away with it scot-free on the island.

Desmond is the linch pin here. He finally gets the approval of Widmore, but at the cost of Penny. When Desmond realizes this, he gets that glimpse into the original timeline that he wants to show everyone.

The point of all of this is that desmond will likely show everyone on the plane (that is still alive in the original timeline) what exactly they have given up in their "deal with the devil" or in this case the MIB. This will ultimately be the turning point and the defeat of the MIB

I would LOVE thoughts and rebuttals of this theory as it is my first elaborate, well thought out theory that I couldn't find any holes in myself. Thanks for reading and I apologize for the long read

Episode 6x08 / The Cork
« on: March 23, 2010, 11:29:48 PM »
Ok, I think I get it... (This is me asking for input to make sure I get it lol)

The island needs to be protected because the island is the only thing keeping "evil" away from the rest of the world. MIB (I think) wants to kill everyone and everything because they all corrupt anyway... right? It doesnt seem like MIB can be killed so the island has to serve as a "cork" to that bottle to keep him in so that he can't (in theory) bring an end to the world...? ...Right?

Let me know what you guys think...

Episode 6x03 / Is the cave being watched?
« on: March 16, 2010, 08:43:34 PM »
Hey guys. I was visiting a friend today who just watched the entire series in like, 2 weeks lol and he noticed something in "The Substitute" that I hadnt noticed and cant find ANYWHERE where it is being discussed.... so I'm going to post it here and in a few other places to see if anyone else has any ideas....

I dont know how to get a screencap (nor can I find one) But at like, 36:20 in "The Substitute" while the camera is panning to go behind Sawyer when we see the names on the cave wall for the first time, there a camera. I doesnt look like a camera they would use to film with... it looks like a DHARMA camera, like we saw in the Pearl and Swan stations... Let me know what you guys find out... and anyone who can find/post a screencap it would be MUCH appreciated.

Episode 6x04 / Weird Coincidence
« on: February 24, 2010, 04:15:36 PM »
Ok, I posted this in the screen caps thread and havent had any responses yet so lets try it with its own thread...

The number 23 is appearing in Jack's ALT reality, but with an extra 3. It's weird. Take a look:

Jack's ex's (David's mom's) house is #233 on whatever street we dont know as seen here:

http://getlostpodcast.iimmgg.com/image/8a83ef27630851e9abbc21555296cf76

ALSO... When Jack's mom finds his dad's will, the address listed on the envelope is "233 Bastian Dr." as seen here:

Coincidence? or does it mean something?

Episode 6x04 / Direction?
« on: February 23, 2010, 11:54:30 PM »
Hey everyone. I'm not 100% sure about this but I'm going to try and make a case...

The numbers have a certain signifigance to everyone because of the lighthouse. I was Jacob's way of keeping an eye on eveyone who is a candidate. I beleive that these are COMPASS bearings. Think about it... do we see any names aligned with a number over 359 in caves? A compass only has 360 degrees... and "360" would be zero. The turntable in the lighthouse looked very much like a compass in the picture that Chukie provided to show us that Kate was #51.

Any thoughts or ideas on this? It also makes me think of the compass transition between Richard and Locke...

Episode 6x01 / The Flares
« on: February 03, 2010, 05:15:36 PM »
I've been seeing alot of chatter about the flares here but none of it is on what my first thoughts were... I thought the flare look VERY similar to the one that Sayid, Kate/Sawyer and Shannon set off in season 1 while trying to triangulate the singal for the transeiver. Did the others respond to those flares too? Did it cause the others to stir? Or did they just know what was up and blow it off.... It seemed to me the flares looked quite similar in the sky

Episode 6x01 / "Good to see you out of those chains"
« on: February 03, 2010, 12:07:37 AM »
...or something like that.

Richard was a prisoner/slave on the black rock... I'm calling that now (I hope no one else has). For some reason, Jacob took it upon himself to give him eternal life? Richard and the Man in Black seem to have a history together. I'm thinking that the Man in Black wants to go to the temple.... the real one. I think that's "home"...

LOST Talk / Something about Charlie that's bugging me
« on: August 10, 2009, 08:07:57 PM »
Hey everyone. People are still posting in this section, so I'll give it a try here.

In 1x05 White Rabbit, There's a woman that went out for a swim and is drowning. Now, we all know the outcome is that Boone is already out there to try and save her, but Jack saves him. This isn't my beef. My beef is that Charlie ran to get Jack and in the midst of everything he says, "I'd have gone out there myself, but, I don't swim". But then in 3x21 Greatest Hits, Charlie volunteers like its no thing, to go swiming down to the looking glass because he was "a junior swimming champion in Northern England." There's even a flashback in that episode (and on his "personal greatest hits") of dad teaching him to swim.  So which is it? does Charlie just not swim (except in hopes to save Claire) or is this maybe the M.I.B. trying to (and succeeding) kill the woman in the water? I wouldn't put anything past the writers at this point.

But of course, this could just be a production error and I'm reading WAY too much into it. Anyway, let me know what you guys think. Thanks

LOST Talk / Locke and Walt; Backgammon
« on: June 09, 2009, 08:39:05 PM »
All right, no one is talking about this (even on the DocArtz site as far as I can see) So I'm posting it here so it will get the most visibility. I hope the title isn't misleading because I'm not going where everyone else goes with this (black vs white). I rewatched the first 4 episodes of the series last night and couldn't help but watch Locke ALOT more closely. And in this scene where Walt asks Locke about backgammon, Locke just... KNOWS Walt's name. He didn't ask for his name, Walt didn't offer it. Granted, he could have heard Michael yelling for him (as we have come to loathe him for) but it just struck me as odd that Locke just kind of knew who Walt was. It really made me think that maybe this "man in black", "un-locke", "Esau" charcter was inhabiting/taking control of Locke from the very beginning...

I always love everyone's thoughts here so I definately want discussion on this and would like to hear what people think. If I'm wrong and Lcoke asks his name or Walt offers it, then I apologize and just mention that and feel free to lock this thread.

Thanks for reading my ramble, I look forward to everyone's thoughts.

Episode 5x16 / Richard telling Locke he had to die
« on: May 14, 2009, 12:39:37 AM »
We all saw last week when "Locke" told Richard to tell himself that he needed to die to bring everyone back. Richard did as he was told... But he got totally manipulated by that man in the black shirt at the beginning of tonight's episode. The general theory around in here (in the past half hour lol) is that the man in the black shirt has taken the persona of Locke. This man knew that his loophole had to come this way and used his new found "leadership" to tell Richard that Locke needed to die for the greater good. I'm afraid Locke was just a casualty of this fued between Jacob and the unnamed man and was used as a loophole for that man to kill Jacob through Ben. And we thought Ben was manipulative lol

Wow, I think I just confused myself lol OOOOHHHH my head hurts! But I love this show...
