Episode 4x10 / Jack is sick...
« on: April 25, 2008, 05:07:31 PM »
So, my initial thought was appendix problems...

The show starts off with Jack saying that he has a stomach bug and that he's taking antibiotics for it. Well, who knows what he was actually taking, but the very first symtom of appendicitis is stomach pains.

Jack later corners Farraday and asks him if they were ever going to take them off the island. When Farraday says no, Jack looks likes he is about to cry, and then doubles over in pain. As he walks away, he starts holding his right hip area, which is where it starts to hurt as the appendix gets bigger and bigger...

He's trying his best to downplay it because he knows there is nobody to do the operation...

Episode 4x04 / Locke, Miles and the Grenade
« on: February 22, 2008, 03:11:33 AM »
All I can say is holy crap!
I thought that it was bad when Jack pulled the trigger with the gun to Locke's head... but this is something else altogether! But he sure is on to something, it's quite a way to shut somebody up!  :-\

Episode 4x01 / Jack pulled the trigger on Locke
« on: February 02, 2008, 04:01:08 PM »
Well, I had one of my  :o  moments when Locke was lying on the ground with Jack leaning over him with a gun to his head. Granted, you probably shouldn't taunt a man who is pointing a gun at you, but STILL - I CAN NOT BELIEVE THAT JACK PULLED THE TRIGGER.
When Sawyer killed Tom in the last ep, I got all huffy and pissed off - this is why I hate Sawyer, cold blooded murderer, blah blah blah. But NOW - they (TPTB) shook my world!! Jack would have killed Locke, without a second thought... did he not think about the fact that "rescue" was on the way and he was just about to put a bullet through someone's head? Consequences much?

How do you face somebody that you literally tried to murder?
How did Locke know not to load his gun?

Episode 3x22 / "Well, obviously we're not dead"
« on: June 03, 2007, 10:07:20 PM »
So Naomi swoops in on the island from her unseen parachute where she jumped from an unseen helicopter which took off from a freighter 80 miles away - all sounds pretty suspect to begin with right? (Yes, I know they get a hold of 'Minkowski' on her satelite phone but he could be anywhere, true?)
But then she tosses in this information that their plane was found, bodies inside, in an ocean trench - memorials were held, new albums were released, blah blah blah.
Why do they believe her?

Misc. / question about locking boards
« on: January 30, 2007, 08:58:54 PM »
First off, I tried to put this under Q&A Sledgeweb Lost...Stuff - but once that page opens, there is no start new topic tab. So, I did my best to get this in the right place!
I know that when the boards are locked it is so that no one can post to that thread anymore - but is there any way to still read them? I would love to go over some of the episode discussions for seasons 1 and 2 but can't seem to open anything that isn't recent. Is there any way to view the boards from the earlier seasons?

LOST Talk / Kelvin finding Desmond...
« on: January 29, 2007, 05:10:26 PM »
How did Kelvin know when Desmond crashed his boat on the island? Was he simply lucky enough to find him on a walk or something?
It seems to me that Desmond must have been out for quite awhile - Kelvin had time to sail his boat around to another part of the island. And also, he was wearing his hazmat suit - I think that Kelvin had found him previously, went back to the hatch and put it on to convince Desmond about the 'sickness'. But if so, that adds on even more time that Desmond was unconscious. How did Kelvin know that Des wouldn't wake up before he got back? Drugged him? Kelvin started plotting the moment he saw that boat so he certainly wouldn't have wanted Des to wake up and see him sailing around the bend.
So was it just luck that he found him in the first place? Or did Kelvin (maybe) cause the crash himself? Something to do with the failsafe again? Maybe because his replacement wasn't coming?

Episode 3x06 / Ben having surgery on island
« on: January 23, 2007, 07:48:12 PM »
Hey everyone - there's a big question that I've been going over in my head for weeks now and i just wanted to know what you all think about it. Why would Ben decide to stay on the island to have his surgery done? Look at what happened with Colleen - they didn't even have a crash cart to try and revive her with. That obviously wouldn't boost your confidence in either the doctor or the facilities. So I'm thinking that there is absolutely no way off the island; they sent Michael and Walt on a wild goose chase when they sent them off following 325 on the compass. If it was possible to leave, don't you think that Ben would want to have this done in a real hospital? As oppose to having the man he is holding captive perform spinal surgery on him?
He said to Jack '2 days after I learned I had a fatal tumor on my spine, a spinal surgeon falls from the sky' - so he's known about this for over 2 months. That is plenty of time to arrange a visit to the nearest hospital - really, it can only be so far away. Unless you can't get there...
So, what do you think?
Does Ben actually trust Jack? He most likely knows about Jack's patient history - saving Sarah when she should have been paralyzed, maybe even about how he saved Charlie (after he was hanging). Does he believe that this random doctor is going to do everything in his power to save him?
Or is there no way to get off the island and Ben just knows it's either this surgery or a fairly quick death?

LOST Talk / Lost moments 6 and 7
« on: January 03, 2007, 12:31:37 AM »
Hey everyone - not too sure what's going on cuz Sledge's main page always had these up really quickly before. But anyways, since I don't know how to do anything fancy here, you can find Lost moment 6 and 7 on You Tube.
I think they're fricken fantastic and I just wanted everyone else to know (those who didn't anyways) that they're out there still. When I didn't see any new ones since 5, I kinda forgot about them but it seems that they are still coming! So enjoy - I sure did!  ;D

Forum Feedback / I can't open Locations Map
« on: December 16, 2006, 05:06:37 PM »
Hey guys, I'm still pretty new here so I didn't know who to ask about this or where to post it. Every time I try from the home page to get into the Locations Map, I get a popup from internet explorer saying operation aborted. I was able to get into there a while ago (like maybe a month?) but this last week it's won't open up. Is this a problem with the site or my computer? Can you let me know if it's happening to you too?

Episode 2x23 / Come back Walt!
« on: December 13, 2006, 12:10:41 AM »
Well guys, I only discovered this site recently so I missed all the fun discussion from seasons 1 and 2... if any of you are interested, here goes.

- when Ben says on the dock "we got more than we bargained for when Walt joined us" (or something like that) what is he talking about? Just what sorts of things can Walt do - besides some sort of weird astral projection -> on 2nd thought, that can't be it because Shannon wouldn't be able to see him if that was the case. The same type of bird he wanted his mom to look at in his book immediately flew into their glass door - it just blows my mind. What are his limits?

- when Walt showed up in Shannon's tent after her and Sayid, you know  ;), why did he appear to Shannon and not to Jack or Kate or ugh, even Sawyer? Why is he always wet? Does anybody know what he's saying other than "shhhh"? Is Walt trying to tell her something or warn her of something? And if so, why does he keep leaving so quickly?

- is Walt doing this appearing act without the others knowledge? Is it actually Walt that is talking to Michael on the computer or the others just trying to get him? Did he ever try to escape himself?

- then theres the obvious stuff, like what happened to the kids from season 1? It's so long ago, they're almost forgotten - does their being taken have anything to do with the lack of children on the island? In the others camp, the youngest people you see are Alex and Carl. They have a fertility doc so where are all the kids? Being experimented on like Walt?

- and of course, are Michael and Walt gonna end up back on fricken Monster Island? What's the significance of the direction 325 (which by the way is my B-day, March 25)? They make such a big deal of Walt in the first season and now he's just dropped off the face of the earth (island?).

Well, like I said, I missed all those fun discussions and just needed to vent some of my oldest lingering q's. Not expecting answers or anything but if anything from season 1 or 2 is still really tickling you, let me know. You'd think SOME things would be answered by now!

Episode 3x01 / Benry has all the power!
« on: December 10, 2006, 01:12:56 AM »
Ok, to start off with, I fricken LOVE Henry Gale. I think he is one of the most fantastic characters I have seen on any tv show in a really long time. Just the way that he is portrayed, so cold and manipulative... I can't get enough of it!
So with that out of the way, who else loves the fact that Benry has absolute power over ALL the others? Perhaps with the exception of Juliet, they all seem ready to drop their lives on a whim and do what he says. "Goodwin... you run, you can make that shore in an hour." "Ethan, get up there to that fuselage, there may actually be survivors - and your one of them." No questions asked, no ifs ands or buts. "Listen, learn but don't get involved. I want lists in 3 days. GO!" And so they go, fast as they can. Why is Henry the all mighty? And why does it seem like Juliet is the only one that it bothers? Ex-lovers? Sibling rivalry?
Also on this note, if he has people willing to do his every command, why do you suppose he was that far out in the jungle the day that Danielle captured him? I assume he knew at this point that Jack was a spinal surgeon (he says "2 days after I find out I have a tumor, a spinal surgeon falls out of the sky) and he was probably trying to lure Jack in to save his own life. But why did he go to find him by himself? Was Benry intentionally trying to get caught? Was he trying to find out more info about the losties? What info could he be looking for that he wouldn't already have? I mean, they have an entire folder on Jacks life... his dad's autopsy report for gosh sakes. What else could he have been looking for?

Episode 3x06 / Jack and Claire siblings?
« on: December 10, 2006, 12:07:42 AM »
Do you remember when Christian was in Austrailia with AnaLu and he went up to that little house - the woman who answered the door look a lot like Claire (long blonde hair, very thin). Christian can be heard shouting "She's my daughter too" and "I pay the mortgage on this place". Anybody else think that the daughter might be Claire? That would be pretty crazy if Jack and Claire are half-siblings - Aaron would have an uncle!
Any thoughts?
