Community Lounge / Be counted...
« on: July 30, 2006, 08:22:39 AM »
So I'm curious with all the DHARMAs and now VIPs... How much time do we actually spend here?

For instance, I registered July 22, 2006. To achieve my meager 73 (now 74) post count, I have logged 1 day, 2 hours and 34 minutes of time with an average of 10.425 posts per day.

How much time did it take you to reach your current status?

Theories & Speculation / What's the deal with Sayid?
« on: July 27, 2006, 09:24:03 PM »
We got Sayid on the island. He has several ties to several of the other survivors and islanders... Kelvin, Kate through her dad, Locke through Nadia, so on...

He wasn't even supposed to be on that plane. The CIA and the ASIA originally gave him a ticket for the day before 815's flight. He was only on 815 because he demanded a change so that he could stay to claim his friend's body. There doesn't seem to be any plan to have brought him there.

Theories & Speculation / Eko and Fenry
« on: July 23, 2006, 03:03:59 PM »
Sorry if this has been discussed, but I haven't found it anywhere yet...

I think Eko understands more than we know. I wonder what was revealed to him in his encounter with Smokie. His first night on the island, he's attacked and kills his attackers. He goes on his 40 day vow of silence because of it... That's not an unheard of concept, and that all makes sense. Though he never went silent after killing the two men he bought the heroin from...

The thing that I'm curious about is not why he wanted to speak to Fenry... if he believed that Fenry might be there because he was an "other" then obviously having been attacked, he would want to talk to him... It's what he spoke about. It was so very important to Eko to tell Fenry that he was truly sorry for what he had done and to make certain that Fenry (of all people) knew that he was back on a righteous path... Why? Did he perhaps learn something about the others on the island when he was staring into the smoke? There seems to be something more to it than just a guilty conscience... especially when you consider the others' search for "the good ones" in the group.
