Episode 6x16 / Help need with the church scene
« on: May 25, 2010, 07:40:27 PM »
I get most of it, I really do, but I'm having trouble wrapping my head around this whole scene. It raises more questions than it answers.

The big one is why was Aaron a baby in the church?
Following the show's logic from Christian Shepherd, he died 'sometime' (we saw him up to 3 years old when they got off the island and Kate was his mom). So he grew up? Lived his life? Died and gets to be a baby again for all eternity?

I also have trouble with who was there and who wasn't.
Penny was, although she'd never been to the island. (and where's their kid?)
Frank Lapidis and Miles weren't, but probably should have, they were there long enough and helped them out enough. Miles was all over the sideways stuff as Sawyer's partner.
Desmond didn't "take" Daniel Faraday/Whidmore with him - why not? The actors were available to play the roles.
Ben didn't go in even though he was "actualized" -- so he was included with the 815ers. (so why weren't Lapidis and Miles?)

And wouldn't it have been cool if Jin met his daughter there too?

I guess I'm confused as to what the "rules" are for this "place".

Any theories or suggestions to understand this are very welcome.

LOST Talk / Which Kwon was candidate #42?
« on: May 14, 2010, 08:05:55 PM »
I know there's stuff we're not going to get answers on - like the name of Jacob's brother and other detaily things, but this is one thing I really hoped the producers would have resolved and now that they are dead, well, I just don't think we'll ever find out.

What do you guys think? Which one was it? Why?

I think it was Jin, my biggest reason is because Sun wasn't 'transported back in time' from the Aljira flight like the other candidates were and because he was born Kwon.

Episode 6x11 / Libby
« on: April 14, 2010, 10:46:29 PM »
So great to see her and Hurley finally go on their date.

Odd though, how she didn't mention being on the 815 flight in the alt storyline. Sure, her name isn't on the wall of the cave, but other "non list" characters like Rose, Bernard and Arzt were still on the plane in the alt storyline. That's also something unresolved by the writers: she is shown in the airport in one flashback episode with Eko and Charlotte, but why she was in Australia and on 815 has never been explained.

Cool twist: Libby recognized Hurley in the alt timeline, but Hurley was the one who first recognized her when they were on the island. From Lostpedia: He didn't realize who she was when they met on the Island, but Hurley indicated that he recognized her from somewhere, most likely from their time together at Santa Rosa.

Episode 2x23 / Why did Oceanic 815 crash??
« on: May 29, 2006, 09:18:05 PM »
Right now it seems that Desmond not pushing the button is why Oceanic 815 crashed. The electronmagnet got too strong and 'pulled' the plane apart. I'm a little confused just how that could happen when comparing the two accounts of what happens when you don't push the button; 1. Desmond after he killed Kelvin, running back but able to reset the code, and 2. Locke's takeover of the button refusing to push it.

Would you agree that the effects of not pushing the button were worse with Locke than it was the first time with Desmond alone?  I think so on account of the metal bending in on the countdown clock and all the other damage. All the metal was being pulled toward that part of the hatch. In comparison, I didn't see this with the Desmond alone situation, yet Desmond's was the one that supposedly "pulled" 815 apart.  So then why, when the force was much stronger with Locke, simple things like metal around camp and the Other's guns (made of metal) weren't drawn to the hatch too???

How could one appear stronger and not attract small metal objects like guns and the one that is not as strong pulls a plane apart???

Maybe it has something to do with where and how the build up is released?

Theories & Speculation / "Connections" map from another site
« on: May 28, 2006, 03:19:53 PM »
I posted about this in the Henry Gale investigation thread and since I can't post new threads in Sledge's "Connections" forum, I'm posting it here.

Got this site from a friend.

http://pop.wizbangblog.com/images/2006/05/lostx.php

Here are the connections that I don't get that warrant this being in the spoiler section:

They have:
The real Henry Gale as Rose's brother.
Jack and Claire are half siblings.
Bernard IS Hanso.
Rose is Walt's Grandmother
Desmond's girlfriend (Penny) to adopt Aaron
Real Henry knew Hurley from Mr. Cluck's
Fenry is Aaron's Grandad (which doesn't make sense to me if Jack's dad is supposed to be Claire's dad, that makes Jack's dad the grandad, unless Fenry must be the grandad on the baby's father's side? ?)

All the other connections seem right. And they only have a color code for "family connection" and "other connection" but not one for "speculative connection", which if you're coloring coding, you might as well add if it is speculative - just sayin'  ;)

So I'm wondering if this is all just speculation or if I missed clues somewhere to make any of this stuff true.
Anyone?

Episode 2x23 / The Others Reaction to the White Light/Noise
« on: May 28, 2006, 02:59:30 PM »
I just rewatched this part to see if they showed the Others reacting to it and they did show some. Mostly they were all covering their ears, I felt bad that Hurley, Jack, Sawyer and Kate couldn't cover them on account of being tied up, Anyway....

Fenry looked really angry as he covered his ears and looked up at the sky, but the next time we see them on the dock, there is no mention of what just happened with the light and noise. Like it never happened.

So, my question is, do you think he knows what just happened with Desmond and the Key? He didn't verbalize any anger about it, like "oh crap, now we're all in trouble". I thought it was odd that the Others really didn't comment on it at all. They didn't seem worried about it either. It wasn't like all of a sudden a group of them went off to investigate what just happened.

So maybe it's happened before and that was the 'incident' that Dr. Candle spoke of??

Episode 2x23 / "We're the good guys" - Fenry
« on: May 26, 2006, 08:42:02 PM »
So what do you think this means?
I'm thinking a lot about author's point of view. I mean so far we're hearing the story of the island through the people on the airplane (and Desmond).
Is there a bigger story out there that the Others really are the good guys and the losties are getting in the way of something very important that they're doing?

You can't believe Fenry though, he lied to Locke that he didn't push the button during the Lockdown.
Cus we all know he did. Or else all magnetic hell would have broken loose like the finale.

Anyway, I'd like to hear people's thoughts on this statement he made.
