I just had a nightmare about Lost. I better type it out before I forget because it terrified me in my sleep. Jack was wandering around, probably in the jungle and his dad appeared creepily out of nowhere. I can't remember exactly what he said to Jack, but I think he told him "you have to go home" only it was in a cryptic way. And then Christian turned around slowly and unnaturally and I could hear a high-pitch hum kind of like the sound of the flashes and I could barely make out Christian's eyes begin to cloud over like they were turning gray and filling with smoke and I was expecting another Smokey moment like Christian bursting into smoke and flying away, but nothing happened. I think he just kind of stepped out of sight into the jungle, but it still ratcheted up the intensity level. Next scene I remember, Jack is pounding on the door of a lighthouse. Not THE lighthouse. It was just a regular lighthouse and things start to get really weird. It's night out by this time and raining. Jack pounds on the door and Dwight Schrute from the Office answers the door and Jack demands he let him in. Dwight Schrute is his typical asshole self saying it's late and no one is allowed in but Jack forces himself in and goes into an office. Dwight says he can't go in there but he loses his glasses after Jack shoves him away. There's a quick shot of a gollum-looking zombie thing hissing. Dwight is feeling around for his glasses. Jack rummages through the office, searching through files, it seems looking for something in particular while Dwight touches the old wooden table that's kind of like a picnic table in the other room and feels around but his glasses fall to the floor. He goes to reach down to feel for them on the floor but his tie gets stuck between the boards of the table. Back to Jack, he seems to have found what he was looking for. I can't remember what he found or if it was even revealed in my dream, but I think it was some files and a photo. Back to Dwight, he's struggling to free his tie whne he hears the hissing and I see the zombie had come through the open door of the lighthouse out of the rain. Like I said, he's kind of small and kind of looks like a cross between a scary gollum and one of those natives from Skull Island in Peter Jackson's King Kong (wow both Peter Jackson movies. The zombie crawls onto the table and just when you think it's about to get Dwight, you hear a shotgun blast and the zombie flies back dead and you see a group of young children who apparently been sleeping and woke up from the commotion, one is wearing a nightgown and holding a shotgun.
So I'm watching this as an observer as a TV show and I'm freaking out and thinking wow, that was f'ed up. What is going on with Lost now? I immediately imagine that people will be complaining about how you see a burst of blood when the zombie gets shot and people will say that's unrealistic because zombies don't bleed since they're dead. So I jump on the message boards to see what everyone else is saying and the consensus seems to be that the episode was frightening and unexpected and Lost seems to be taking a different direction. Some even said they didn't think they could take the high-intensity scenes mixed with horrific images.
So in my dream, I went to bed and when I woke up from my nightmare, I had it in my head that I was dreaming about tonight's episode so it wasn't a dream at all. I even remember thinking so this is the direction the series is going to take now, and I envisioned more zombie encounters since one of the upcoming episodes is titled "Dead is Dead" or something like that. It's not often I get freaked out by a dream, or that I dream about Lost. And now I can get made fun of by sharing it on here. I just think it's funny how detailed and real some dreams can seem and they make perfect sense in your head when you have them. And I'm amused by all of the different elements I worked into it, like characters from other TV shows and people who don't exist, yet it all seemed like a natural fit in my head.
