Episode 4x09 / Re: Ben's Hurt Arm in Halliwax's Coat in tunisia
« on: April 27, 2008, 09:37:03 PM »
This isn't about the jacket exactly, but where in the world did those two men in the desert come from? Ben stood up and scanned the horizon, I didn't see any city in the distance or anything... something tells me it's pretty unlikely that you would just happen to stumble upon somebody in the middle of the Sahara, especially someone who just teleported there... if that's what happened...

Were they expecting him? They didn't seem very surprised to happen upon a man in the middle of the desert wearing a winter coat... you know, they rounded the corner almost as if they were looking for him.  ???

Episode 4x09 / Re: Thoughts on the Doctor?
« on: April 27, 2008, 08:53:10 PM »
I still think it has to do with the Orchid experiments and the two bunnies....even though the Doc wasn't at the Orchid as far as we know...it is possible they are replicating experiments...but this is all speculation...but if it is true...you heard it here first!!! You can all thank me and bow down to me later...;D

But where could they be replicating the experiments? Unless the doctor has been off the boat, to the island, replicated and then back to the freighter... I dunno, where else would they be doing it?

I want to think that it's just the boaties lying but there's a couple of sticky points that I can't get past...

Farraday wouldn't send a message to the boat, asking what happened to the doctor, unless he had a reason too.

The people on the boat don't realize that the doctor's body has washed onto shore but they do have Farraday asking about him - they don't know the reason Farraday is asking about the doctor, but he IS asking...

So why would the people on the boat lie sooo blatantly? They get clued into the fact that something has happened on the island to worry people about the doctor, but that's all they know.

IF the doctor on board is dead, then they know that Farraday must have a reason to ask about him, so why make such a blatant lie as - what are you talking about, the doctor's ok?

I've been waiting for some more information on Annie too, PL - any age at all... young Annie, adult Annie... that storyline was dropped so suddenly...

Our promo after the show for next time on Lost certainly didn't say anything about appendicitis...
I thought I was being all insightful! lol  :D

lol - I didn't know that!

Umm that is why they moved the thread to this coming weeks show!  Hey did you time travel to this thread or where you teleported? ;)

I made that reply before the thread was moved...

And sheesh, I didn't know that they had mentioned appendix problems when I made the post, or obviously I wouldn't have said it in the first place...   :-[

Yes, the island is full of good looking people..odd isn't it? LOL  Obviously her story has not run its course since we know what happens in the future.  Apparently people think they are going to kill Sawyer next and that will piss me off!

I love it when they kill off characters that we like. It is so unexpected. I was exstatic when Eko died. Not because I didn't like him, in fact, he quickly became one of my favorites, but because it came out of no where. I thought it was great.

I agree you with totally - I love the unexpected!

The only character I couldn't live without is Ben, and I don't think he's gonna die anytime soon... lol

I wonder if Charlotte's story line will have anything to do with the 4 toed statue... I mean, they're going to have to get to that at some point, right?

Episode 4x10 / Jack is sick...
« on: April 25, 2008, 05:07:31 PM »
So, my initial thought was appendix problems...

The show starts off with Jack saying that he has a stomach bug and that he's taking antibiotics for it. Well, who knows what he was actually taking, but the very first symtom of appendicitis is stomach pains.

Jack later corners Farraday and asks him if they were ever going to take them off the island. When Farraday says no, Jack looks likes he is about to cry, and then doubles over in pain. As he walks away, he starts holding his right hip area, which is where it starts to hurt as the appendix gets bigger and bigger...

He's trying his best to downplay it because he knows there is nobody to do the operation...

Episode 4x09 / Re: Sawyer sweet on Claire?
« on: April 25, 2008, 04:35:24 PM »
My take on it all, is that Claire just lost Charlie and has a brand new baby to take care of by herself - if I was Sawyer, I'm be more concerned about her than Kate too... Kate can look after herself... Claire tends to get herself kidnapped and almost blown up. In a small way, Sawyer can redeem himself by looking after her.

And on a side note, I was just trying to think about things that have happened to Claire in this show in 4 seasons... she's got to be the most boring character on the entire show, imho of course. Yeah, back in season 1 she got kidnapped and had all the drama with Ethan, but since then, booooring! lol
Yeah, you're right. Give me more Claire action!

HAHA, I was thinking more along the lines of getting rid of her! lol  :D

Where are you people getting the idea that he time traveled or teleported.  It looked to me like any other flash forward.  I saw no evidence of time travel in this episode.  The only thing we don't know is how he got in the middle of the desert but we don't have any evidence of time travel yet.  You all just seem so sure that this episode proved time travel but I didn't see that proven.  I'm not trying to start a debate and I'm not anti time travel either, I'm just wondering what is suddenly making everyone so sure.  It just looked like a flash forward.

Why would Ben ask what YEAR it was if there was not time  travel. I"m pretty sure that is  what the writers are indicating by that statement.

I think he asked her "2005?" when she told him the date.  To me, this means he did not know what year he had teleported to.

I see way too many holes in this whole time travel theory. I think that there is some form of teleportation going on, but absolutely not time travel. Just think about it... if your time travel 'machine' (whatever it is, at the Orchid, who knows? whatever it is) is soooo inaccurate that a) you don't know where you're going to end up and b) you don't know when you're going to get there, who in their right mind would use it? You're basically using it to get you to an unknown place at an unknown time... whats the point? That's not going to accomplish anything.

I believe that Ben dropped that line about 2005 simply to clue us, the viewers, in. Yes, we know it's after they got off the island, and yes we find out that it's right before Sayid started to work for Ben... but other than the line about 2005, we have NO time reference. Not even in the Sayid episode (4-4, The Economist) there isn't really a time frame given. It could have been 10 years from now, for all we know. The girl in it (name?) even mentions how her boss is a little old fashioned, or something to that extent, which explained the out of date pager that she used...

So, I'm still on the anti-time travel wagon, it's going to take something a LOT more solid than that to convince me.

I've never played Risk myself, and so for that reason alone, I took it to mean that Austrailia is key to LOST, not just the game they were playing at the moment... seems like a funny comment to drop for no reason (no Lost related reason I mean, Risk is hardly Lost related! lol)
