Episode 6x13 / Re: Bernard
« on: May 05, 2010, 07:34:30 PM »
It also occurred to me that Bernard and Rose were the only two who seemed to 'get it' (whatever it specifically is that Jacob brings people to the island for) in 1977 - and were not interested in killing each other or anyone else, or leaving the island or fighting about anything.

MIB said it always 'ends the same' - but it seems Bernard and Rose are two people who don't fall into that category, 'got' what Jacob is trying to convey, and now Bernard has all this wisdom in the alt timeline.. (just throwing it out there)

Episode 6x13 / Where is Widmore?
« on: May 05, 2010, 12:50:03 PM »
He wasn't on the sub and didn't appear to be in the station where the cages were.  Most of his people seem to be dead.  Any thoughts as to where he is - or is that who MIB went after to 'finish' things?

Episode 6x08 / "who claims to be the protector of the island"
« on: April 29, 2010, 12:12:02 PM »
When I watched the enhanced version this statement re: Jacob and the one about the 'direct or indirectly' responsible for people's deaths were my two biggest questions with !! behind them.  Someone else has already posted about the directly/indirectly question.

Is the word "claims" important?  Or is this a diversionary tactic?  Get us to still wonder if MIB is good and Jacob is evil.

The other thing that I wondered about was the fact that Ilana had previously stated that Lapidus was a 'candidate' - was that a mistake on her part? Or is no longer a candidate? Or has that been addressed and I missed it.

Also, the enhanced version stated that Jacob's analogy of the island with the wine bottle and the cork is correct.  So it seems that the island is holding back the evil that is MIB?  Sometimes I end up more confused than ever after watching these episodes :)

Episode 6x08 / Re: What's with the names? Ricardo -> Ricardus???
« on: March 24, 2010, 05:58:05 PM »
Maybe I'm missing something, but how did the guy who in 1864 is being called Ricardo end up in 2007 being called Ricardus by Jacob and Ilana?  Why the name change?

I seem to remember Juliet saying at one point that if you were an "Other" you had to be able to speak Latin.. so Jacob uses the Latin version? One of those unsolved questions that may not be answered perhaps.

Episode 6x07 / Re: Flash sideways argument
« on: March 17, 2010, 05:26:12 PM »
So, My cousin and I are in a debate about my little theory here.  What do you all think?  A lot of people are sick of the flash sideways because it seems not to be connected...but maybe it is..

I like this,  :) It makes sense to me, and I think I would be happy with the finale if that was the correct theory.  For the past few weeks I've been arguing with myself that I didn't like what I was seeing this season, I wasn't happy with the way the ending was headed and I was going to be disappointed when the season finale played out.

Somewhere a few seasons back (can't remember when exactly) I remember reading that they had planned the ending from the first season, and our proof would be in the finale. Some rumors even came out that it had to do with a scene filmed with Walt and Jack when Walt was still small.  This would make sense to me, finally.  Right or wrong, I like it, and I'm stickin' to it now :)  Thanks!

A random thought came to my mind as I was looking at all of these awesome screencaps... Jin up close and the bassinette.  Sun has the Driveshaft ring that Charlie left for Claire in their old camp... wonder if that find will somehow be instrumental in a few episodes in saving Jin from Claire, or even in pulling her back to reality a bit.

Episode 6x03 / Re: Other names on the wall:
« on: February 18, 2010, 09:55:49 PM »
What about Lapidus?  He was mentioned at the end of last season and I think he mentioned it himself this season that he was a 'candidate'.. I didn't see his name there.  Also, since Lapidus was supposed to be the original pilot, but switched at the last minute.. was Flocke looking for him when he yanked the pilot out and killed him in Season 1?

Episode 5x16 / Re: Walt
« on: July 30, 2009, 12:51:21 AM »
JamesL Walt did have powers and though they had these earlier in the series go to ABC.com to watch these what we have on here mobisodes.

They wanted Walt gone for a reason, he had some abilities.  Chances are it was not him but it was a person that Locke would relate to.  As hurley to Charlie as Claire to Christian and so on.

When I re-watched "Three Minutes" I paid more attention to Ms. Klugh asking Michael about any special abilities, and specifically about Walt appearing where he was not supposed to be:

MICHAEL: What? No! I don't -- I wasn't there. He was half way around the world. Why are you asking me all these questions?
MS. KLUGH: Did Walt ever appear in a place he wasn't supposed to be? You say he was half way around the world -- did you see him?

I think this is why people kept seeing Walt when he was supposed to be somewhere else...  Conciously or not he was - for lack of a better word - "projecting".

LOST Talk / Re: reWATCHING LOST
« on: June 07, 2009, 08:49:56 PM »
I'm kind of lost (no pun intended  ;) ) regarding the re-watch.  Will the articles/discussion be here? Or at the DocArzt site? Or both?  Someone mentioned a section just for the re-watch here, I think.. or maybe it was there.. anyway I'm confused.  I tend to get a bit disoriented at that site because I am not familiar with it enough to know where to go.  So... has anyone heard anything or can anyone direct me if there is an area here for it?  I have happily been re-watching and I am noticing some things that are making me go HMMMMMmmmmMMM.

Thanks!  ::)

Episode 5x16 / Re: Do you know how badly I want to kill you?
« on: May 15, 2009, 11:23:35 PM »
Dead IS dead.  And the "other guy" (Esau) is appearing as Locke.  Locke IS dead and therefore, Ben is STILL the leader.  Therefore, the leader "killed" Jacob.

Reading this thread I found myself thinking how funny it would be (and typical of Ben - although of course hardly likely) if in the Season 6 opener, Ben turns around to 'Un'Locke and says, 'and I'm sick and tired of your ** too,'  and then stabs him to death (again).   :D

Episode 5x16 / Locke's Body - Eloise Hawking - Loophole Locke
« on: May 14, 2009, 06:02:46 PM »
Isn't the only reason Locke's body was on the flight is because Eloise Hawking insisted it was necessary for them to get back?  And as a result... Loophole Locke is now running around on the island. Coincidence? Or part of her plan?

*corrected, sorry, I just think of her as Ellie actually.

I don't think that was ever Jacob's cabin. I think it was Esau's jail all along.

I'm starting to think that more and more, but why bring Locke's dead body there? And what was on that piece of fabric she ripped off the wall?

Episode 5x16 / Re: Smokey and Esau
« on: May 14, 2009, 12:02:34 PM »
Then, once Jacob was free, Smokey started taking on the form of other people in order to try and convince one of them to kill Jacob for him. This would explain why The others were so protective of Jacob.

Maybe this is why it is so important that the dead bodies be buried? Keeps him from assuming familiar forms and infiltrating the various areas to recruit followers - the Others' Camps or whoever the current 'visitors' are that Jacob has allowed on the island to re-test his theories of good vs evil, freewill vs fate? (Black Rock, US Army, DI, Losties..)

Well she was looking for Ricardus. So I'm assuming thats actually Richard's cabin? Or at least where she thought she would find RIchard.

Perhaps, after posting I kept reading and realized there is a whole thread on this on page 3... pretty much everything I was questioning.  Richard isn't mentioned though.  I still find it all confusing..  :-\

I'm guessing its been him the whole time. Its seems like each one has their own "lair". Jacob is in the statue and Esau was down in the caves under the temple. So I'm guessing he is Smokey. Also may explain why Ben was able to summon him when he needed.

Who was in the cabin?  Ilana went there first to show someone Locke's dead body they found in the plane.  When that person was not there - due to the ring of ash being disturbed - they headed for the statue.  They were upset about the ash being disturbed and burned the cabin first.  It seems significant, but, it's confusing.

Since Ilana and crew were there to help Jacob, and he has always been in "the shadow of the statue".. who were they looking for?  And why bring Locke's body there to begin with and not head straight for Jacob?  Was this ever really "Jacob's" cabin.. or did it belong to someone else ("Esau") held captive there by that ring of ash?
