Episode 5x16 / Re: Swan Station Orientation Film
« on: May 18, 2009, 03:08:56 PM »
Also - maybe Changs arm was crushed or ripped off in the incident - but not this time because Miles was there to lift the crane off it - again, changing the future

Episode 5x16 / Re: Radzinsky & Phil
« on: May 18, 2009, 03:03:05 PM »
Radzinsky had to remain alive... he ends up working in the Swan statiomn (hatch) with Kelvin.

unless they have changed things from 'whatever happened, happened' I thought Radzinsky was dead - I need to re-watch

Did Radzinsky die at the swan site after his jeep flipped? because if he did then history must have changed because he wouldn't be able to blow his head off inside the swan. I'm thinking the bomb will have gone off but it will have changed a lot of things for all the losties

Episode 5x16 / Re: he "watched them die"
« on: May 18, 2009, 02:37:46 PM »
I've always found Richard a confusing character. He has always seemed good and reasonable - in comparison to everyone else - but he hasn't always been good, remember Juliettes husband. I'm not sure he would openly lie but I don't think he saw them die either. If Jacob is white and the other guy is black then Richard is grey to me - I can't work out what side he would be on

Episode 5x16 / Re: Hurley's Guitar case.....????
« on: May 18, 2009, 02:21:34 PM »
I think it's a guitar in there - I was wondering if it was the same as Charlies, now I wonder if it is Charlies actual guitar which Jacob brought back from the island and left with Hurley

Episode 5x16 / Re: You found your loophole
« on: May 18, 2009, 02:16:35 PM »
I don't know WHY this is happening, but I'm convinced I know WHAT is happening.

The graying character sitting with Jacob in the beginning (far in the past, played by Titus Welliver of Deadwood fame) can somehow not only travel in time (like Jacob can) but also can make people think he is someone else, but only dead people.

He not only appeared as the dead Locke, but has been appearing as other dead people -- Christian, Charlie, Libby. His goal has been to find a way to kill Jacob all along (for what reason, we will find out in season 6), and he has been traveling around in time and taking on the appearance of dead people in order to try to get Jacob killed.

It does seem as if the loophole was to find someone willing to kill Jacob. So until now he had been appearing as the wrong dead person, and appearing to the wrong dead people. He got closer by appearing to Ben as Alex, but that wasn't quite enough. As Alex, he told Ben to listen to Locke ... and then appeared to Ben as Locke too, in order to tell him to kill Jacob.

Why would Jacob tell Hurley that talking to dead people is a blessing?

OK, I got a bit muddled reading all the theories here but I think I get the gist - so - if #2 has taken on dead peoples forms maybe this is why Jacob told Hurley he was blessed because he knew that meant Hurley was one of the good guys so to speak. In being able to see and speak to dead people he couldn't be fooled by #2 like other people, he would see through it and follow his own feelings rather than be led by someone. Fake-Locke had everyone else fooled that he was real Locke, even Richard, and it has been said many times before that Hurley is special.

Episode 5x11 / Re: Am I The Only One Who Likes The "New" Jack?
« on: April 04, 2009, 03:54:13 PM »
I never liked Jack but he grew on me a bit last night. I always hated his control freak nature so the laid back Jack is a welcome change for me. Let's just see how long it lasts.

Episode 5x06 / Re: Suspension of disbelief is one thing, but...

You don't know that anyone didn't recognise them, I don't think I would freak out, I would probably just whisper something to the person I was with. The could just be my british reservism coming through though :D

Episode 5x06 / Re: Jin? Dharma?
« on: February 21, 2009, 01:17:59 PM »
I think they all work for the DI now.
Every. Single. One of them.

Totally agree. I think the flashes stopped when Locke pushed the wheel and they were stuck in that time period. I wonder if they found the Dharma registration place and their names got called out as if they had just arrived like Ben's dad. As if they knew they would be arriving and treat them like recruits (does that make sense).
My other theory is that some of the 'hostiles' (and I'm including sawyer, juliette, miles, jin and Daniel) crossed over to Dharma.

I think island time must have passed around the same as normal time from when the flashes stopped - I guess we'll know more after next episode depending on when Locke arrives on normal world.

Episode 5x06 / Re: That guy that spoke to Jack in the airport...
« on: February 21, 2009, 08:21:26 AM »
I was wondering if someone spoke to Jack like that in the pilot episode but I can't remember and not had chance to re-watch yet, maybe someone else can remember. If they did maybe his the substitute for that but it is interesting that they switched the order of the episodes. I also wondered if it was a grown up Walt who had skipped back from the future but that's a loooong shot :D

I agree with gjohnson too - Sayid is probably being extradited for one of his crimes, after all, that's why Kate was on 815. I also thought that is how Hurley got out, Sayid has maybe confessed so Hurley was released - Happened very quickly though.

And I always thought of smokey as a she :D

I've been rewatching old episodes too and I keep noticing things like this.

I'm like Shakey and would love to think it was planned this way but part of me still thinks they were making it up as they went along - at least for the first 2 seasons ;D

Episode 5x05 / Nosebleeds
« on: February 17, 2009, 10:02:44 AM »
I just re-watched 'The man behind the curtain' and noticed that everyone who died in the purge had blood coming out of their noses.
The people in the purge were gassed but I wonder if it's connected to the people getting nosebleeds now.

Probably just grasping at straws here but it was a really interesting episode to re-watch - what's your thoughts?
