Episode 6x16 / Re: last thoughts, goodbyes, annoyances, and stuff :)
« on: June 06, 2010, 05:10:14 AM »
I personally couldn't give a sh!t less what I_AM_JACOB thinks or types.  He rants on and on.

I thought the ending sucked, and I've faithfully watched the show since the first airing of the first episode.  That is my personal opinion and if  you don't like it, so what?

<the end>

Episode 6x16 / Re: Why was the island underwater in the Alt.?
« on: May 24, 2010, 05:10:40 PM »
In the end, it was all bullsh!t, plain and simple.  Jack was a coward who died a lonely coward's death.  I guess he didn't Live Together" with anyone, so he died alone--except for Vincent, who you know went Donner Party after about 10 hours of staring at Dead Jack.

The show is over and Kelvin is still dead.  ;D

I win!
Yes, Gary, you win!  You are now officially in purgatory :)

Episode 6x16 / The Dharma Shark
« on: May 24, 2010, 04:50:38 PM »
I swear I saw the Dharma shark hurl itself out of the ocean to gobble up Kelvin in the background behind Locke lying like a rag doll after being SHOT by Kate, who amazingly, couldn't really hit the broad side of a barn yet somehow managed to shoot her way through 6 seasons of LOST.

Talk about jumping the shark....

Episode 6x16 / Re: My musings on the finale (and I didn't like it)
« on: May 24, 2010, 03:04:20 PM »
Side rant:  Jacob brought people to the island 1:  to replace him and 2:  for "the game."  It seems to be if he hadn't done #2, he wouldn't need #1.

Not true.  He would always need a replacement, because he'd eventually want to move on himself.  The "game" was, in my opinion, more of a product of Mother's doing than Jacob's.
Good point.  I totally agree about "The Game"

I will say that I liked it that the rules that were in place when Jacob was the keeper of the Island were all subject to change--as we found out when Hurley took over.  That was a nice little surprise.

Episode 6x16 / Re: Target Ads

The Target ads were cute the first 3 times they showed each...but the Verizon ads....  It was very whorish and a waste of time.

Thanks, Sledge, and the rest of the gang for six years of reading my crappy theories and letting me read your crappy theories!

It's finally over!

Many cheers and blessings to you all

Better yet, let's pretend they were all in a Target or a Verizon commercial, really living in purgatory the whole time ;)

Episode 6x16 / Re: Dan, Penny and Lipidas...???
« on: May 24, 2010, 02:38:28 PM »
Desmond told Eloise that he wasn't going to take Daniel with them.  I guess Daniel wasn't ready to move on, and you can say that for anyone else who wasn't there.  Penny didn't die within the show.  And neither did Sawyer, Hurley, or anyone.  They all died at different points in their lives.  You don't really know what happened to any of them.  Hurley and Ben hinted that they'd protected the island for a long time.  Jack's dad kind of explains it.
Nice.

Episode 6x16 / Re: Not Happy......
« on: May 24, 2010, 02:36:52 PM »

Jack's mullet kid... Although I am perfectly capable of understanding that the entire show was really JACK'S test and HIS moving on, not about anyone else, and it was exclusively told from HIS PERSPECTIVE, it was still a crock of ....

I didn't wait six flipping seasons to find out that DrDrunk really wasn't as bad as Jack thought he was, and how in the heck was Bernard more important in Jack's life than, say, his FIRST wife?  What about his mother?  You know she must be dead by now.  She looked half dead the last time we saw her--

The bottom line is:  the writers got carried away with their red herrings and DIDN'T TELL THE STORY AND GET OUT.... They got high on their horses and thought the show would last much longer until ABC pulled the plug and told them to shove the entire story into the last 2 seasons, which left them with no choice but to cram it all into the last 2.5 hours.  Poor planning, writing, and execution.

Sorry ya hated it, and apparently didn't get it Des. This was not all about Jack. They all crossed over with each other. With the most important people in their lives. Jack crossed over with the people that helped him come to grips with his pre-island life. He had no relationship with his first wife. The Losties meant more to him than she ever could have hoped too. His father was THE most important person in his life. Hence him flashing after he touched the coffin.

As for your assertion that ABC made the call for them to wrap it up, that is plain not true. The Writers stated their own end date. This was ended exactly the way they wanted it to end, and it was perfect.
Sorry, darling.  ABC told the writers to wrap it up.  The ratings were so far down, the costs were still enormous.  They didn't end the show the way they wanted to, either.  Just do a Lexis Nexis search and see what the writers had to say when the show began, and how their attitude started changing over the years.  You, my friend, are wrong.

As for Jack's perspective and the show being HIS redemption?  It is absolutely correct.  Matthew Fox was on Kimmel last night and talked about it.  So before you start burning off stupid responses, you should know what you're talking about.

Nice try, tho.  The show still was not the original story the writers had intended to tell.  They got sidetracked with their own celebrite'.

Episode 6x16 / Re: Richard and Frank
« on: May 24, 2010, 02:33:23 PM »
I couldn't care less about Lapidus, but I really was kind of melancholy for Richard.  Yes, he wanted to live... but he spent hundreds of years wishing he was dead with his wife.  What kind of life will he have now?  It's not like he's going out to some strip joint when that plane crashes in Guam or Haiti....

Nonetheless, I'm glad he at least will have the opportunity to get out and live a little.

I thought it was bullsht.  The smoke monster getting pushed off a cliff after Kate shot him.  How stupid was *that*?

They could've easily told this story in 3 seasons or less.  to drag it out this long was absurd.
