Episode 6x16 / Re: Jack didn't bless Hurley's water?
« on: May 24, 2010, 04:51:54 PM »
I'm going with "Jack's the Candidate, they're his rules now."  And Jack, being a rather non-spiritual person, chose not to bless the water.  Quick and dirty, get the job done, enough with the mumbo-jumbo for Jack.  Or something.  LOL

Kind of like Hurley or Ben said that Jacob did things a certain way, but now that Jack was in charge, he could do them his way?

Or was Jack the one who said that?  Sorry, my brain is so fried!

LOST Talk / Re: TPTB's plan to make even more money

There are still 3 hours of show. There is still time to have a keystone answer that helps us to other answers after we get it.  I am not cutting bait and assuming we are all going to be left out in the cold on our important answers.

Technically, 3.5 hours left, since next week is 1 hr and the finale is 2.5 hours.  I am still unsure of what they will be able to answer in that timeframe, however, especially with all the new questions they created last night. :(

Episode 6x14 / Re: Anyone else starting to get nervous
« on: May 12, 2010, 12:30:29 PM »
I'll just point out something you probably all noticed watching the show... Jacob's "Mom" summed up the entire LOST experience very aptly when she said (to Jacob's real mom), in effect, "Answering any question you could possibly ask will only raise more questions.  You should rest."  I think the writers were summing up the show in that one line.

I got the very same impression when I saw that clip on abc.com's sneak peeks.  It was like the were speaking directly to us, warning us that we are NOT going to get all the answers.  AND, they actually said this IRL. :)

The Ben / Widmore scene in Widmore's bedroom and of course Hurley, Jin, Sawyer, Roger "Workman, The VW BUs and of course Dharma Beer.
Taken out of context, that is so wrong!  Can you imagine taking that same scene, dropping the dialogue, and adding romantic music?  Classic Lost!  The real love story that we know nothing about.
But if lovin' LOST is wrong I don't wanna be right. Who's the girl girl in the relationship? Uh, forget that because I already know... Ben because everytime we see him run he looks like a girl.

Lovin' lost is NEVER wrong!  LOL

Episode 6x15 / Re: What "They" Died For... Speculation?
« on: May 10, 2010, 01:34:18 AM »
As far as major spoilers go, I find that I am VERY disappointed when I go looking for them.  I mean, it takes away the excitement of the moment when you are watching when you know what's going to happen ahead of time.  I don't mind title names and I LOVE the sneak peeks that abc.com puts out, but that's as far as I'll go.  It's hard to NOT go searching for them, but I just don't want to ruin the anticipation!

Episode 6x13 / Re: Smoke on the Water...
« on: May 05, 2010, 01:10:21 PM »
When Smoky killed the pilot it was raining very hard.
We saw him in smokefrom in the rain a lot of times I think.

Opie, we've got to stop agreeing like this, people will talk!   ;)

I wasn't really let down by Locke in the water, because I wasn't expecting Locke to do anything special once he was in there. We have seen MiB (in the form of Locke) in the water several times, so I wasn't too shocked. I just found it interesting that Sawyer says, "Just get him in the water, and I'll take care of the rest." And then Jack got Locke in the water, and Sawyer didn't do anything.

Exactly what I was thinking Sawyer just kind of...watched.

I saw it that Sawyer's part was to take over the sub and be ready to kick off as soon as Jack got MIB in the water.  I don't think being 'wet' is what keeps him from becoming Smokie (see Opie's comment above), I think he just needs to be on solid (island) ground.  It's been suggested that he is somehow 'tethered' to the island, so being in the water keeps him from changing somehow.

Yeah that could have een the "Rest" Sawyer was talking about. Kind of lopsided tasks.

SAWYER : I'll take care of the two slacking old dudes in the sub, you take care of the beast they call The Desolate One and knock him into the water. Do it quick though because he may turn into a pillar of black smoke and slam you into some solid mass until you are dead. He Might be a good guy though. We don't know yet.

JACK : Whatever you say.

Could it be possible that Sawyer was in on Smokie's plan?  I know this makes absolutely NO sense, but...he WAS the one who pulled the wires that made the bomb go off.  He also told Jack to get Smokie in the water and he'd take care of everything else, then was not there to do so.

Ideas?  Or am I way off base?

But what about alt timeline Locke?  He can fly as well...although the flight with him and his father obviously did not go well.  What about the theories out there that somehow, alt-Locke merges with island-Flocke?  Can that work?

This is not seeming plausible as I type.  Is there anyone out there who can make more sense of it?

I think Jack is the only one with flying experience. He said he took lessons, but I don't think he meant a jet!

Really makes you wonder what side Widmore is on, he says that MIB is coming and then disappears for his men to be killed.

Is it possible that Locke flies them off-island?  We found out last night that Locke had flying experience, which is how his father got in the condition he is in Alt timeline.  There have been theories that somehow alt Locke will be reincarnated into Flocke...

Okay, this really makes no sense to me as I write it.  Can anyone take this somewhere plausible, or am I just reaching too hard?

If I'm not mistaken, everything we saw in the 'scenes from next week' was in fact from previous episodes...

I am pretty sure that you are correct on this assumption.  I will not know for sure until I can rewatch.

They literally can't answer everything, but I think the majority of big questions will be put to rest.

What I want to know is, in tonight's episode, did Sawyer remember how to get a fish biscuit?

I totally agree with your statement, but as far as not giving us answers, I got the impression that they were going to intentionally CREATE more questions in the finale.  I could be wrong...or they could be messing with us. ;)

So we have Sun, Jin, Sayid and Lapidus all dead correct.
Why did they ever have lapidus on this show. he had some good lines but he served no purpose at all.

Maybe as a kind of red herring to make us believe that he was there to get them off the island on the plane?
Or...he's not really dead yet?  And he will get them off on the plane?  The plane isn't blown up (yet), and they did not show Lapidus dead.
