Episode 6x08 / Re: Battle for the Soul...
« on: March 29, 2010, 12:59:56 PM »
VL exactly and back in those times lives were more religious and tended to be superstitious.

Even when the boat is about to crash they cry the island is protected by the devil.  The "priest" was a shady character but would  not bestow forgiveness on a dying man.  Sorry this does not follow what I learned if you ask for forgiveness you are granted.

I am sorry but I am not buying into the hell/purgatory bull and I think it was another way for the writers to flesh out what we have been saying.

Remember something MIB/Smokey knew Richards fears and played them with the entire devil theme.

Great thought and writing but I think it is a bit to deep for ABC

LiL, I trust your expertise and you sound a bit upset about last night's outcome. If so, what do you think is going on?
And YES the priest was shady as!
What outcome?  Expertise ::)  not really the audience has been calling it purgetory hell and when that came onto the screen I laughed cause they played right into our speculations.   I just do not see ABC delving into the heaven/hell/purgatory theme.  Now with that said, I can buy into using this as a way to tell a story, but that is far as it goes.  My point that is typically lost  ;)  is that MIB used what Richard had in his head to weave his tale of woe.  Jacob made is clear that he was not dead nor that this was hell.

so...everyone is lying, and where or when does it leave us?
either way, it's great storytelling, and that is why we keep coming back to the "island" every week...

NJ I have not missed an episode in 6 years and have bought most of the stuff they throw at us.  I am the one who keeps faith when some things just do not add up.  I do not believe they are all lying to us either.  :)

This particular episode used Richard's faith in God/Christ to created a scenario in his mind that MIB used to manipulate him to go and kill Jacob. Nothing more nothing less.
I saw MIB use what he found in Richards mind to do his dirty work.  MIB would be a great used car sales person.
MIB has preyed on the weakness of all, hmmm in some ways Jacob has too.

I believe that MIB and Jacob are from an ancient time, based on the statue, the temple and other things.  I think the biblical references are more
anecdotical.  As through out time there is good/bad , black white etc.  Maybe I am the only person who sees this but right along they have mapped out things to a certain degree.  From season one they had Locke with the black and white theme cooking.  Knives, boars and here we are again 6 seasons later Locke is MIB.  MIB is still manipulating people to get them on his side.  Ergo the giving of white rock to him.  Jacobs way of saying I have this one fellow.  The other thing is this island - it is there for a reason it has

Jacob and MIB are embroiled in a eternal battle one of which has yet to be explained.  We all have are theories and how we perceive what is going on in the show, but there are scenes and dialogue that state and explain where this is going.  Albeit we all, inlcuding myself want to brign it in a different diretion.  ;)

I think my biggest frustration with this past episode was the Black Rock story and how it knocked over the statue and survived.  As I said before this is just two weeks in row that they are now stretching my imagination.  I do believe that smoke monsters exist - I work with a few ;) ;D

The boat didn't survive, it has a massive hole in the hull where it crashed into the statue's head. That's where everyone goes in and out to access the stores of TNT that never run out. I'm not sure what you expect the boat to do when hitting essentially a bunch of rocks stacked in a column... It wouldn't break into a million pieces on the spot

Episode 6x02 / Re: The Three Heads Of Cerberus???
« on: February 11, 2010, 11:42:30 PM »

Because, if she died when the house got hit by the rocket, and then became reanimated, there was no time for her to be taken to the spring before she started walking around again... - the house gets hit by the rocket, then Sawyer picks up her body and forces his way into the house where Ben, Hurley, Miles and Locke are holed up.  Claire comes to, and Miles strongly hints she may be dead.

Can someone refresh my memory of what exactly happened when "the rocket blew up the house"? Somehow I am forgetting this whole sequence of events. I thought that I didn't miss any episodes, and it could be that I'm wrong but I am drawing a total blank on Claire getting blown up in a house. Perhaps an episode name too?

Episode 5x16 / Re: The Incident
« on: May 14, 2009, 04:29:10 PM »
I really think that this entire thing has always happened in the Lost timeline - "What happened, happened."  I think that Pierre Chang's hand getting caught in the debris was a key hint to that fact, as his hand was injured in the Swan video, right?

Episode 5x16 / Re: Hahahahahahahaha! That ending was so awesome!

I thought this was way too similar to when Desmond turned the key in the Swan station.  Perhaps the first time around the key actually detonated the bomb, but now that the Losties have changed things the bomb did actually detonate.  Ha, maybe we'll even see some of the Losties running around naked like Desmond!

Episode 5x16 / Re: What are we going to call Jacob's "nemesis"?

Might want to add "Bad Twin"

Um, how about "Bad Twin"???

Episode 4x12 / Re: So, Aaron's "mom" is really Kate . . . . .
« on: May 18, 2008, 08:32:33 PM »
I don't think the point of the reporter's question was to cast doubt on Kate being the mother, I think it was more to break the news that she had been arrested right before the plane ride.  It's probably safe to assume that wasn't common knowledge yet, otherwise why wouldn't Kate have been immediately arrested upon getting off the plane?

Episode 4x12 / Re: How do you think the Oceanic 6 come together?

Most likely, the "XM Radio receiver" on Keamy's arm is for the explosives, IMO.

Episode 3x18 / Re: Did Juliet Blow Her Cover?
« on: April 26, 2007, 06:44:57 PM »
Interesting.  As I think about this, how did Jack just take this at face value?  I'd be asking questions about what if this happens again and we run out of Juliet's magic injection??

Theories & Speculation / Re: Is Kate Pregnant???
« on: April 26, 2007, 11:33:38 AM »
I was thinking that Kate's pregnancy might have been orchestrated too, but something tells me it wasn't really intended by the Others.

I think they are trying to solve the problem, but don't really care about anyone but their own group and have no problem using other people as their guinea pigs.

Episode 3x18 / Re: What if Juliet lied to Sun?
« on: April 26, 2007, 11:29:11 AM »
I have to disagree with you.  Why would Juliet lie?  If she were lying, that means she also lied to Ben on the recording, when she didn't have the guts to say "I hate you" until after she turned the tape recorder off.  Not a chance.

Theories & Speculation / Re: Is Kate Pregnant???
« on: April 26, 2007, 11:21:45 AM »
Juliet mentioned on her recording to Ben something about getting a sample from Austin, probably having something to do with fertility, or possibly even . . . PREGNANCY!?!?!???

Kate and Sawyer have done the deed twice, so it's certainly possible.

I also think that the Others suspect this as well, and Juliet's "mission" is to study any pregnant women from 815, suspected to at least include Sun and potentially Kate.

Next episode: Rose is pregnant

Or maybe because it was part of the DHARMA.  The only one of the Others who seemed to want to be at the Dharma stations was Mikhail.  Maybe the rest of the Others just think that DHARMA was a bad...?  Of course, they use DHARMA stuff, but maybe they are "creeped out" by all of the original DHARMA purpose(s).

Episode 3x10 / Re: Why no motivation?
« on: March 02, 2007, 11:01:54 AM »
Locke: "You're wrong."
Kate: "Oh, really?! Then why didn't you come after--"
Locke: "Not about the motivation, just about knowin' where to look."

That's what my ears hear. So it seems that Locke did admit that he has no motivation to find Jack.

I just had a bit of a revelation that makes this all make much more sense.  Locke said (or at least this is what he meant) "[it's] not about the motivation, [it's] about knowing where to look."
