Des stopped wearing the suit when Mr Krabbs died(forgot his name, the guy who trained Sayid to torture) right. So if Des is wearing a suit to protect him self from the quarantined island, then his partner is still around. If he was in the hatch wouldn't he ask who was at the back door? So he must be out fixing Des' boat. Will we see him running around the island later?
-
Maybe Kelvin was out mapping the island when Daniel and crew showed up, so he was wearing it because he hadn't discovered that Kelvin was lying to him yet.
-
I would say Kelvin was dead already (when Des forgot to press the button and Flight 815 crash because of him). When the time skipped the little Plane was in the trees, and when it skipped back it was on the ground upside down (Because of Boone)
So Kelvin was never alive when survivors of flight 815 was on the island
-
Maybe he was hoping it was his replacement, Kelvin was dead, and he figured if it was his replacement he would give the same story as kelvin about contamination/sickness and then sneak away later.

Right, I totally missed that. The first thing Desmond asks Daniel is, "Are you him?? Are you my replacement??" Never put it together that Kelvin was already dead for that.
Then maybe Desmond wore it as a general precaution.

Except during this time frame, we never saw the plane. I'm not sure when it was, but I'm saying before O815 crashed.

Although this is also an excellent idea.

Soooooo.....not to belabor the point....does this mean.....Kelvin.....is........ALIVE!!!!!
no...he's still dead.
-
so basically they were somewhere in between Deus Ex Machina and Exodus

I know you're the weird guy around here Stagger, but don't. Just don't. LOL But seriously, don't.

until the island jumps to a time when he is still alive.....
-
Yep, that was my point, Jun' Ott....that's all...he is dead in the real time, now...or yesterday...or then....(paraphrasing PL here, hehehehe) When ever, he is dead...unless/until "until the island jumps to a time when he is still alive....."
but he is something....will not bring it up again....
-
If they show him alive again, then it will have to be before Desmond killed him, which as far as I'm concerned, doesn't make him alive.
-
Perfectly stated.
-
And right with the theory that things can't be changed. Although I feel like they are on thin ice with that. Hasn't time already changed with Daniel giving Desmond the memory of meeting him and sending him to Mom in Oxford? I don't get how the record spins - but I sure do like it. :)
-
Yay...my constant is here..... ;)
-
When I saw your green light, my nose instantly stopped bleeding. :D
((((((((((((((((((((((Stagger!))))))))))))))))))

Dan Faraday knows what one snowman says to the other snowman.

I don't think he does, because when Des asked if he was his replacement, he said he wasn't. And I think we're all assuming that the replacement knows what one SM said to the other.
-
"if I pull this carrot out of my nose will it bleed?"

lol nice one!

Even though, he(Des) saw Kelvin take off the suit, and knew something was up, he still asked Locke how many have been infected when he first entered the Swan..so, this doesnt clear anything up...or narrow the time to Kelvin is dead or alive...Des still thought there was some type of infection...

Probably because of the injections, he thought that him and Kelvin were vaccinated (or something) against the sickness.
-
that sickness is another loose end...
brb - i'm gonna get me some knitting needles and start tying these all together

The sickness is something that I'm not conviced is even real. I'm just saying that as far as Desmond was concerned, there MIGHT have been a sickness in the air, so even though he was vaccinated, he put on the bio-suit, just in case.

Dizz, that is actually a fantastic Idea :o !!!! we should compose a list of questions big or small that we still have from all the seasons so we can check em off as they get answered! after all "they" say this is the season where we start getting more answers then questions. Then we can see how many things get left unanswered too . Oh that list would be sooooo long we would need to start a thread so everyone can help and add to it. What does everyone think?!

I'm down, the only problem I see forth coming with this is the same thing being asked over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over...again. And before anyone asks, yes, that was completely necessary
-
lol, funny
I thought of that. we could just weed those repeated questions out somehow. (maybe someone has an idea) the list could be printed and the repeats could be crossed out. I don't know. But it's just that There are so many unanswered questions at this point that it's so hard to keep track. and we put so much thought into it all it would almost be an injustice not to have that feeling of closer on these questions we have been debating so long and hard about.
