Title: Locke's Line
Post by: this is some crazy stuff on March 29, 2007, 10:35:35 AM
I just remembered this line over the night.

Locke says to Paulo when he is trying to bury the diamonds on the beach,  "That things dont stay burried on the island."  Maybe a foreshadow of Paulo and Nikki, some how not staying burried on the island.

this show had alot of lines that could have hinted something.  that were mentioned before.

Hurley talks about season 4 of epose they show the Cobra.  Hinting to maybe we will see Jacob.

But i took that i remember when they were filming expose` Nikki says you were the Cobra all along.

Maybe Jacob is someone we know, we just dont know it yet.  (Christian anybody)

Then Nikki says that even a doctor wouldnt even be able to tell if you were alive or dead.

(Jack couldnt tell if Christian was alive or dead.)

I said the same thing last night in the chat.
I agree 100%.

I just remember all of the joke lines, like calling Paulo the Brazilian Wolfgang Puck, when the actual actor has been referred to as the Brazilian Tom Cruise.

I caught that too Maxor, made me chuckle a little.

I think that you are right about Locke's comment, "things don't stay buried on this island."  He pauses a moment and substitutes the explanation about spring tides and beach erosion.

Locke is referring figuratively to the issues that the losties brought with them to the island and, possibly, physically to the dead bodies.

I guess we'll know the answer when we see Christian or Nikki (who's Nikki) walking around.

Absolutely agree Crazy Stuff. Between Locke's line and the conversation with her director/"boyfriend" at the beginning in Nikki's flashback about coming back from the dead the enxt season, I guarantee we havent seen the last of these two...

Eko's miracle chick ,the psychic's daughter, was supposed to be dead but woke up on the autopsy table. Maybe she got bit by a spider too.

I liked the line about her character getting killed off in Expose..."That's what happens to guest stars."

I thought that the guest star joke was funny too!
The whole episode I was expecting them both to be alive at the end of it, and then, OMG, those few shots of dirt coming down on top of you - freaked the hell outta me... it was just so disturbing, being buried alive.
SCARY!

Hmm, I wonder if these 'things' will stay buried... I think they will.

I really think that at least Niki will resurface.  If these 2 were suppose
to be "iconic", I'd like to see that definition!  If this is it for them I think it was a complete waste of a story line, unless the walkie talkie is the reason Paulo & Niki were even introduced.  That seemed to be the biggest thing they added to the story.  And I'm sure in the future there will be a link to the diamonds or Expose or the russian resting dolls, but right now I feel gyped of a story line and an episode if they don't dig themselves out!

I agree Jilly.
Other than the funny "insider" lines I thought it was a poor episode.  I was waiting for a lot more.

Why Paulo used the rest room was not one of the more pressing mysteries to me.

I had not even thought about the girl coming back to life on the autopsy table!

Spiders, spiders, everywhere.

I completely agree with the Cobra hint. They ARE trying to tell us that Jacob is someone we've already seen. However, I do (want to) believe that, as with the Cobra, it will be someone unlikely, someone that appeared to be a good guy.
Only time will tell..

Agree with all the above.  Hurley reads the Expose script and exclaims...wow, all along Mr. La Shad was the Cobra.  Yet, that is foreshadow.  Someone who all along seemed like the good guy was the very person he was always trying to catch.  So, who is trying to catch somebody?  Nobody yet, except Locke does appear to be a self-appointed evangelist for the island.  Also, who have the Others not met (seemingly, they would know the great man if they saw him?  They've held Jack, Sawyer, Locke, Hurley, and Kate.  They tried to take Echo (plus he's dead, for whatever that means).  Desmond, however, has had no contact with any of the others except for Ben.  In addition, Desmond is the only one who has been told that he will never be great unless he goes to the island.  Finally, Desmond is the only one shown so far who has a clear gift for precognition and the ability to travel in time/reality.

So, who is the real Desmond?  Why did he end up in prison?  Did Penny's dad tick him off on purpose, knowing that he would inadvertently produce a great man?

Further, Desmond appears to be the only person in the flashbacks who doesn't have a completely messed up (was going to use the f word) life.

ya, but he's a good man, not angry, not fearful, not deceitful.  desmond is solid in the flashback.  he hasn't done anything terrible except broken penny's heart.  maybe that is enough for him to be included in the messed up club....but it's weak.

another desmond flashback comin brotha?
