Title: So who's Mr. Baskin?
Post by: RM on February 10, 2010, 05:25:13 PM
I was fully expecting there to be no such couple waiting to adobt Claire's baby.  I had thought that was all a trick by the psychic just to get Claire on a plane he knew was going to crash.

So there really was a Mrs. Baskin(sp?) waiting at that address.  Any guesses as to who her husband turns out to be, and why the sudden break-up with no warning to Claire that the adoption was off?

I KNOW!  I didn't like the direction they took that part of the story, b/c I think it trivializes the whole point of s1e10 "Raised By Another."

As for Mr. B?  Good question.

My guess, and this is totally random, but since we have the alternate time line I figure all bets are off...I am half expecting the husband to be...Ben.

I'm not expecting the flash-sideways to offer any answers to regular Lost continuity, because it's not the same reality.

Having said that, it's possible that some in the X Universe are aware of the other dimension.

So who's Mr. Baskin?

Josh's Dad?
Is that the sports kid that a random dad asked Miles to get in contact with, and ask if he knew that he loved him?  ???

Yeah, I too thought there was no such couple.  I thought she would knock on the door and the people would say, "what are you talking about, what baby?  We aren't adopting a baby."  The fact that there really was a couple totally threw me for a loop.

Who's Josh?

ive noticed alot that in the Bizzaro  LOST world the numbers hardly come up... the only one ive heard so far is when kate and sawyer are in the elevator with the security and the police code they said was 314 ... added up is 8 but  thats wht closest i have... maybe to jump between realities you need to change the numbers of the Valenzetti Equation....?

I don't know who he is, but he's lucky he didn't get hit by a bus.  BTW, I always thought of that episode as being Raised by An Other

Did this alternate Claire even go to the psychic?

Well Kate didn't kill her father in the off-island timeline, so maybe Claire actually went through an adoption agency. The impression I'm getting from these flash-sideways is that all the information about our characters' lives we (the viewers) got from the flashbacks in previous seasons is now all twisted. Nothing is the same, but everything is similar.

? What makes you so sure that Kate didn't killed her dad in the alternate timeline?
I'm pretty sure she did, like everything else happened to - except some important island thingies, e.g. Hurleys numbers / luck, Desmond, etc. I doubt Kates father plays a big role there.

If you want to know how I know she didn't kill her father, go to youtube and search for the comic-con footage that TPTB showed.
