Title: What time is the island in right now?
Post by: trodge on February 10, 2010, 12:27:14 PM
I may be reading too much into this or maybe I've missed something.

But I ask, what time is the island in right now?

Everytime the other was about to mention something about time, the douchebag other stopped him...I find that quite strange...

But then I think we must be in 2007 because when they launched the firework from the temple, they saw it at the foot statue.

Yes, the island time would seem to be 2007.  Aldo had said to kate that THREE years ago she staged a prison break (I believe that is the Room 23 episode).

He also said Rousseau had been dead for three years inferring that it could not be her traps as they would not have lasted long.

It's 2007 IF (big if) the Ajira flight folks that didn't zap into 1977 didn't also zap into a different time. We don't know for sure.

I don't know how to do links, but there's a thread called "What Years Are Both Timelines In?" under the "LA X" episode threads...  some thoughts there...

We still havn't seen a reference to the real world since the Ajira crash landing. It's still theoretically possible that Richard, the Others, and the Island itself all flashed to a different time when Locke, Sawyer, Julet, Miles, etc. were flashing through time. Remember, when the Ajira flight crash landed, they were flying at night, there was a white flash, then all of a sudden it is day.

I'm keeping this theory in my pocket until I see some connection to the real world.

No I guess we do not know for sure but I for one am pretty confident that they did not jump. only the ones who had moved thru time previuosly are teh ones who moved into what we see is 2007.  we can agree whatever the year is they are in the same timline.

the Ajira time is 2007
there were many times last season when an episode would jump back and forth between Dharma / LeFleur days and the Ajira survivor days and the episode would always put up "30 years later" or "30 years earlier"
and this was not a bubble episode, but a regular one

When the plane took off it was 2007.

I never was a fan of that 30 years later and earlier nonsense...

You know, thats a really great point. I was kind of waiting for some confirmation of the time from the real world, but the "30 years later" lines pretty much do that for us.

Well, according to what Aldo said, it has been three years since Kate, Sawyer, and Alex busted CUH-CUH-CUH-Carl out of the brainwashing room, and Claire's sonogram had the date 10-22-2004 on it. Since we know that the Room 23 incident happened in 2004, that makes the current On-island timeline 2007, and the off-island timeline 2004.

i'd say current time (their time) which would be when ajira flight landed 2007
i got lost in time
but yeah they are now where Sun and the Lapidus are (timeline wise)
i cant seem to shake off the two parallel universes though

so in one the island is sunk and on the other its future ok im getting confused here
link me a thread to where this is discussed xD
kiddin'
