well if MIB doesnt know the significance then jacob is pullin a fast one.  the reason i doubt this is MIB breaks it, a little more intense than just not wanting anything to drink

remember jacob giving MIB the wine and he breaks it? Remember how it was all dramatic and we didnt really know why? two things about this: 1) how will the candidate of the island become protector  AND 2) why did jacob give MIB the wine? i dont think he was trying to trick him into becoming the protector, but i think for some reason he wants MIB to choose to be protector. this obviously didnt appeal to MIB who wants to leave and he breaks it

You saw him right? Locke looks right at him, hes wearing a suit and hes got flowers. This scene is right after the Jin and Sun deaths, i think theyre trying to say there is still hope in the Alt timeline for sun and jin

Did he really say it is in their nature to sin?  Or is that a paraphrase?  I thought they come they fight they destroy  was his line or claim to fame.

And are we saying that MIB was Thomas Hobbes? 

course not. hobbes and locke are basically opposites, so its the black and white theme, and its ironic, its interesting

smokey= isabella in the black rock.  mib comes to "save" the day and play on his fear of hell by telling him the only way out, to kill the "devil"

oh ya definitely not. but MIB was playing on his fear of hell from when he killed the doctor. yet again weve got jacob and MIB screwin with everyones heads. who knows who the good guy really is?
