Post by: Creflo on May 17, 2007, 12:01:04 AM
The one with the rifle looked like Sawyer's mark.

(Edit: I'm talking about Cassidy)

Annie? Why is everyone so obsessed with everyone new being Annie. First they go with Rousseau which is absolutely ridiculous, then this blonde chick in the hatch. First of all no way, unless she used some good hair dye, and it was obvious to me that she either died in the Purge or before the Purge she left the island. I doubt we'll see Annie again.

Agree, why would Ben so longingly have looked at the carved statue last week if he knew she was just under the water in the hatch.

That woman in the Looking Glass had red hair. Also, if Annie had died in the purge they would have shown Ben seeing her body or something. It would have been a lot more meaningful than Horace on the bench.

By the way, has anyone done an anagram on Horace Goodspeed?

Dude, I was just saying that like...oooo, that would be neat if it were her!!! It was a poster before me that was saying it.

BUT...Annie is not dead. Just my opinion. And you better stop doubting we'll see her again...lol

Maybe these 2 girls are original DI people that are stationed there just like the Pearl. They have to maintain something and never got relieved. I hope it's not pushing a button every 108 minutes.

OK TO CLEAR THINGS UP WITH EVERYONE!

Annie is just as dead as Christian is alive! And that's very dead!

Cindy was the girl in the back and that blonde girl (her hair looked red because of the lighting in the hatch) looks very much like Sawyers "mark" as she was called earlier (LOL).

I think the name gives it away. Through the Looking Glass, was when Alice stepped into a mirror to another dimension that was backwards/reversed. So would the sub go here to teleport to another timeline?

Well come on now, they skipped about 30 years in Ben's flashback! She could have left the island!

But whatever, just because before the Purge Ben almost cried from looking at the doll, I'm almost certain she died in the Purge.

5 bucks it is, she's dead.

Actually Through the Looking Glass is another story...Aice in Wonderland is a different. Both have to do with Alice though.
Title: Through The Looking Glass:
Post by: puff6962 on May 17, 2007, 01:07:21 AM
First published in 1872, this was Lewis Carroll's sequel to Alice's Adventures in Wonderland.  Nursery rhyme characters like Tweedledee and Tweedledum and Humpty Dumpty join Alice in a world where everything is reversed.  Not as good as the first work (he needed more drugs), but pertinent to our storyline.   It includes references to mirrored universes, time going backwards, and Humpty Dumpty.  I've had to try and explain it to the kids to no avail.  Maybe the teletubbies can act it out one day or we'll rent the video.  Anyway, didn't finish.....another reference to alternative realities and time.  Will the magic box make another appearance in the finale?

Is through the looking glass, a sequel, portending the sequel to Desmond's introjection into a past reality?  Did Charlie whacking him upon the head put Desmond back in Scotland in front of a beer with his favorite girl at his side?

Lou is a genius.

I think that Carrol needed the money with this work, but if the station's name is a reference to the storyline of Through the Looking Glass, then our most important question is "Who is Alice?"

I did think this. Also, I want a picture of the woman in the car when Ben's dad comes rushing out of the woods onto the highway when Ben's mom is dying. I think the blond in the Looking Glass may be her. I think these women might be Darmah and escaped the purge... I think Mikal was kept alive to send signals to those monitoring the initiative that everything was OK, hence food drops still happening, etc... now it seems like the true others are suffering for food, etc... hence Alex cooking rabbit.
Sorry this post is kind of scattered around a bit topic wise.

This could be due to the fact that they are mobile now, whereas before they were in what used to be the DI barracks.

This is from last episode.  When Ben walks into his house to see his dad passed out.  I don't see how this portrait could be the woman in the Looking Glass because the age is the same in both the portrait and then 30 years later...?  Nah.

That portrait is of the lady with the hamster from Ben's apartment.

Only, that was not a hamster....it was a baby rabbit sitting on the lap of his mother.

Has that been the consensus?  The portrait is of his dead mother?

Convinced that the blonde chick in the hatch is NOT the chick in the picture! The blonde is the gal who threw the bomb onto the raft at the end of season one. She was with them when they took Walt and shot Sawyer. IMHO

Note the change of location of the portrait.  When we first see it it is above the couch in a central theme surrounded by other photos.  When we see it it Ben's flashback it is off to the side.  Anywhooo.  Does that emphasize that the portrait is his mother?  She became more central in his life after his father died?  If it was a rabbit maybe that is why Ben is so derned obsessed.  The only thing that throws me off of the portrait=Ben's mom wagon is the scenery.  Very.... jungle like... as if it was painted on the island.  Though why Ben's dad would have a portrait of another woman....?
Title: Re: The woman in The Looking Glass

Someone painted her from a picture while Ben and his father were on the island.  Ben's new pet was painted upon her lap as a means of comforting poor Bennie through all of his trials and manipulations.  Trials and manipulations....I like that one.  Got to copyright it...hold on...
