Title: Red dots?

Last episode there was a small white smudge in one of the frames.

I can't remember where I saw it, but it was kind of like those quick white dots you see in movies in the upper righthand corner when the reels are about to change...only these dots didn't appear in the upper righthand corner, they just appeared almost randomly, but just as quickly. I even remember thinking to myself "was that a 'change-the-reel' dot I just saw?".

Post by: tasi on February 25, 2007, 05:27:37 PM: Well I don't remember exactly when it happend in "Flashes before your eyes", but there was a white "smudge", and I even used the tivo to watch it in slow-mo, but I didn't see anything significant, so I assumed it was just my tivo/television.

Then I saw the red dots this week in "Stranger in a strange land", I believe it was in the cell, when Tom is telling Jack that they're moving him.

That's when I was pretty sure it couldn't have been a coincedence two weeks in a row.

Anyway, I hope someone else noticed them.

So it wasn't just me, I just downloaded the torrent and the red dot appears at about the 2min 46sec mark, right after Tom say's "See this glass house you're living in Jack", then again around the 2min 51sec mark while Tom is saying "how about I get you some stones".

Check it, now I know it's not just me!

The red dot flashes twice in the glass where tom knocks on. You can see it on the left of your screen at 2min 49 seconds when tom says how about i get you some stones

Post by: Creflo on February 26, 2007, 10:09:26 AM: FYI: The "cigarette burn" is, like WhatThe said, to indicate a change of the reels. In modern movies, they've started putting a pattern of red dots which flash on screen for a frame or so and they serve a different purpose.

Apparently, the pattern is unique to each movie house and can be used to determine where and when a bootlegging may have taken place. Now, in addition to the cig burn, you'll have another distracting thing to notice at the movie theater.

I can't stop seeing either one of these anymore when I'm at the movies!

(BTW, I saw it at "the number 23"...which was not too terrible.)

Dots seems to be big acording to the depth of field, since the focus is on the first plan.

But I'm pretty sure it is a security cam, there are lots of them arround Hydra.
