Post by: LostinLock on October 19, 2008, 03:12:26 PM
(http://i240.photobucket.com/albums/ff142/lili_ahedo/Lili/5694005d.jpg)

Jess didn't want her own "topic" but you have one now along with all the other wild women of the West Coast.  Kasi, Q, Kokonut, Sweet Old Lady, Joy, Deb, GJ and if I have forgotten someone let me know and I will update this...

I just think you are all just remarkable giving and caring women so to you I hold my up my glass and toast to you all....

So join in and give them some love!

P.S. I reserve the right to modify the sentiments expressed in this opening comment

on a personal note...
Giving someone the gift of a personal thread is like giving them a plant.  It's a wonderful & heartfelt gift that is very appreciated & cherished, but it requires a certain amount of care on behalf of the recipient.

You should know about me that I have 5 plants right now that will probably be dead within the year.  One of those plants was a gift, & I'm already formulating an apology to the giver for not properly maintaining her gift to me. lol  I don't want a thread of my own, because I don't want to be responsible for yet another dead thread wasting valuable bandwidth.  I'm perfectly happy enjoying the community garden of the "Show Someone Some Love" thread.  By the way, Lakie- the thread you started wasn't axed.  It was simply merged into that one.  (In keeping with my analogy, that plant didn't die, it was only transplanted into the garden.) ;D
Title: Re: Wild Women of SWLS West Coast
Post by: LostinLock on October 23, 2008, 08:02:02 PM
Well, thanks for sharing PL and to date we are still here.  ;D

I understand your plant analogy in this instance, I believe what makes these threads flourish is the community garden philosophy. Because if someone is not there, someone will water, plant seed, help the plant along in tough times, fertilize, transplant if needed, weed also and sing if requested.  So if it be plant or thread you are not alone  ;D  Hug  you plant PL... ;) ooops maybe not it might not like being hugged.

Yeah I knew y'all had a couch but never sought it out cause I didn't want to stumble in and ruin your Lost time! ;)

I hope the five plants were not a metaphor for your children, cause that would be pretty sad, but see think of the plants like your children PL and guess what they soon will flourish.

We all have our strengths and seriously through reading your posts, I have learned a few things from you.  You are a woman of many talents and having a green thumb doesn't have to be one of them.  Because you  have a gift to make people grow ;)  ((((((((PL)))))))))))

Kasi I just heard.  Happy Anniversary sweetie! ;D
Drinks are on me.  Just charge it to the Underhills.

THANKS ASMO!!! WOW!

LIL I just found this thread tonight! I'm sorry! Where have I been!??!? Thanks for the youtube! That dude was hillbilly-ing it up LoL THANK YOU that is sweet to include me in this thread. I have never lived on the east coast or mid west or south. WA and OR are like my 2nd homes since birth and Cali in an out. I wish I would've tried out San Diego when I was in school.

I have visited all over the USA besides the east coast so I'll have to make it over there. One thing I learned about myself, is if I didn't live on the coast I would shoot myself in the face. I hate not having the ocean nearby. I pretty much cannot live without the ocean. I mean you can tie it in w/ being a Scorpio/water sign or whatever but I was born on the coast of India, raised on the coast of Alaska, and lived on the coast in Seattle... I can't live w/out the ocean. Not possible. I have some deep views about why that is, but lets save the weed talk for another night shall we?  :)

PL- I so wish you had a thread but understand why, all that plant talk made sense to me and I get it LoL. I just want to say...I don't like the guy that plays Edward in Twilight :( Do you? He doesn't look near as hot as the book described. He better be REAL good at acting! hehe also I can't read your blog on myspace :( Your page is all spread out so I can't scroll right! I really wanted to read it! Maybe msg it to me?

I love this new thread LiL! Rock on beautiful west coasters

Any part of NH is definitely West of me ;) The boundary between Maine and NH is basically vertical. The only people East of me are those in the DownEast area, or those in Europe. :D

Either Joy or some of her friends were saying the same thing! lol  Unfortunately, I saw the Twilight trailer before I started reading the books, so the only picture my mind could paint was Robert Pattinson. :-\  Don'tcha hate it when that happens?

Yeah, it was really hard excepting Pattinson as Edward, I'm over it tho...he is so into character that he even looks like Edward as of two days ago :D :P  Edward is so epic now that anyone playing him will have a hard time living up to our expectations...not Pattinson's fault tho.  Super excited about the movie!

Also, I have to go with Jess here...not my cup of tea either....

I have a couple real life buddies and we came up with a list of a few kids that we think would've done Edward justice. I just hate that we're possibly stuck w. Pattison :( I'm not over it yet...LoL.... but then again I still have a few chapters from the 1st book to finish :P When I get tired it literally hurts to read so I'm a slow book finisher.  :D :D :D Thank you, I'll take party pics tonight. Yes we got champagne, wine, and sparkling cider for the preggers in the house. I am crushing up pineapple and raspberries and putting it on the bottom of everyones wine glass and then pouring the champagne over it to make a tasty treat :) My meatballs in the crockpot smell sooo good right now. Isabel is napping and I'm getting ready.

This morning Rane and I slept in as Isabel went to grandmas for the night. Then we ate at this adorable lil cabin coffee shop called Veronica's I so badly wanted to get a picture. I had this cashew chicken sammy w/ a bowl of tasty soup. Picked up Isabel who threw a fit and screamed all the way home.... to her bed and nap time O.o I have friends so excited about tonight they are calling me haha

So now I better get my waldorf salad, taco salad, and spaghetti casserole ready. I love blessing people on my birthday, that is awesome to make food and serve everyone! I am a blessed person and shed a tear today b/c of it. I hope you guys have a great day too!

Bloody connection, twice tonight it has close me out of things.

Kasi - you are like me I made all the food for my party too!  Hey you two had some more alone time that is wonderful.  I love hearing about your little coffee shops!  We would have way to much fun on the little jaunts I take, with or without someone along.  Guess you(meaning me) learn to do things on your own ;)

Yes, pics are always good and you enjoy taking them.  All of your food sounds wonderful and champagne ummm.  We get a nice bottle at the office every year and I always save it for my birthday.  Never for New Years, I buy a small split and have a glass or two.

If you were closer I would have cooked for you! So who is brining the cake?  Is there cake?  Or chocolate dipping fountain?

((((Kasi)))) Happiest of days glad you are enjoying and you are blessed and bless us with your engaging personality!

 :-* :-*

PS tears of joy are always good! :'( ;) 8)

Hi Ya lady! Well no, actually everyone is bringing a main dish and/or dessert, I just like to go crazy and make more then enough food... the guys are men and eat like men hehe. Well besides champagne for dessert I'm making individual little choc pudding pies :) No birthday candles, and cake is a little too much for me. I am thinking my husband has something planned and will probably do the toast. Lots of little ones joining us too, maybe 5-8 kiddos? I need to call my shy friends now, later tator!

i'm an overcooker & overpreparer myself.  i usually cook enough to feed everyone at our potlucks.  that's why i'm the "organizer" of all the church meals.  no one will go hungry!

i wish i could be there!!

speaking of meatballs, i have the BEST recipe for pineapple meatballs.  they are to die for.  and i am not a pineapple & meat person.  delish.  we serve them at our luau every spring.

I got gifts cards for the movies, Cold Stone, WoW, and coffee, coffee stuff, chocolate, lots of yummy candles, flowers, and just some great stuff altogether. But my fav was Rane put an envelope in my flowers and told me not to open it until everyone was there  ??? When I opened it up there were 2 tix to see The Roots this weekend in Anchorage! He planned a mini vacay w/ my fav band!!! I was so excited :o ;D

Hey you!!! Kasi, Kas, Kashi, Kasmina... have fun with it! Whatever you'd like! What is your name btw? I know it but can't remember it :/ Sawry! Well she has kicked it up a notch for age 3 for sure. I think people forget how quickly they change and how your attention span is completel different month to month... so I feel bad, but she is my priority. Luckily most of my gals have kiddos too so they get it! But I still feel bad disappearing in my house for a day or two at a time. We spend lots of time at grandma's though or her little friends come over  :D It is pretty great. I have my moments though where I want to leave her at a hotdog stand...!!!  :-\ :D

Yes, when you have a child it's amazing how your priorities all change and pretty much everything takes a back seat to your kids!!! My daughter is also my main focal point. Then there's the dog, and that man I live with...oh yah! The hubby!!! LOL!!!  Naw, he's my bff so it works out just fine.  He puts up with three "women" (dog is a girl) so he's a good guy!

Kathy! It is awesome to know a bit more about you :) You are so much fun. I bet you're the "fun aunt" or "fun mom"... artsy much? We try but my level of creativity has grown, oh... since it's been -25 degrees here... yeah you get creative fast or you go stir cray-zay!

Wow I love the age difference in your kids. My girl is 3 and I'm ok with a gap until our next one (someday, somehow, somewhere). I'm adopted so my bro's are like 38 and 45. I am close to my lil nephews n nieces though. I am getting ancy for the season to start up again! Gaha!!! Yes my hubs n I are very much bff's too... we loved each other in high school, hated each other before college, were just bff in college, and got married b/c we were tired of pretending to be bffs... (long story, um, short?)

Where do u live Kathy?

Oops sweetie, I only have one child. I meant she was 8 going on 15!!! She acts like a teenager. She is constantly telling me, "I'm BORED", "I'm HUNGRY". The child eats like a bottomless pit but she is built like a string with spaghetti arms.  Kid has a FAST metabolism, I tell you!!!!!!!  Her dad and I were like that too. Now I have to EXERCISE like a mad woman to keep in shape.   She's got so much energy that sometimes just watching her bounce around the house poops me out!

I'm an only child, my hubby is an only child and Faith is an only child too! But according to Faith's friends, I am "cool" mommy.  I used to be SUPER creative, but my creativity flew out the window. I belong to this fantasy art web site called Elfwood. I used to draw up a storm and do Photoshop art.  But these days, I'm so exhausted from work that I rarely draw anymore. Plus most of the stuff I do at work is design things for the company magazine and stuff, so when I get home it's like...I don't wanna go on Photoshop!! BLARGH.

I live in So. California. It's been cold here, but not as cold as where you are!!!!  We get snow in the mountains and we went up a couple weekends ago, but unfortunately, everybody and their mother had the same idea so we hit all this traffic and I got car sick and so did Faith and then I had to go to the bathroom and there were no bathrooms and well...let's just say, we had to call our little adventure short. Plus none of us dressed right and when we finally got to where there was snow, we froze out little butts off!!! LOL!!!!

I am heading out tonight but that is awesome. I felt like an "only" b/c of the age difference LoL. Faith is a beautiful name :) I use GIMP a lot, it's like photoshop but not as fancy shmancy hehe. Did you go to school or did you just acquire a fun photo hobby?  I went to the Art Institute of Seattle and did visual merchandising... it was fun. Being artsy can drain you, huh?! I'm finding myself in the mood though luckily. So Cal is beautiful and I really want to visit San Diego for a week! You must live kinda near Joy!

Well talk to you soon lady!!! Thanks for the quick chatty patty time :)

Well I can see this is where the beautiful ladies hang out so I sure hope the thread stays alive!!!  ;)

How're you all doing? I'm doing pretty good. Just spending a lot of time with great people, including my busy 3 yr old. She is always my world, second to one coo coo hubs. Other then that I am recouping from the crazy Christmas season! Hope everyone's doing great!!! Wild woman indeed!!! ;D

((((Cassssssss))))))) or is it ((((((kasssss))))))) (I always get peeps names wrong!)

Anyhoo!  Awww your baby girl is three??? I remember that age! Mine is 8 going on 15. It's sometimes frightening how fast these little ones grow up and even scarier when they are wise.  Enjoy your baby at this age. They are so sweet and innocent!  Mine was going thru her terrible twos all the way up to almost 4. I was like...child...please stop!  But now I MISS those days!!!!

HORAY for LOST Season 5!  I can hardly wait either!!!!!!!!
mine is 8 (going on 15) as well.  doesn't it drive you a little bonkers?  but oh, how i miss the toddler days.  although sam still loves to snuggle with me and be my "baby."

Oh yes girlfriend! It does drive me bonkers!!!  But Faith has her sweet moments like your Sam and will snuggle too. But it's gotta be when SHE wants to snuggle.  If I try to give her a hug when she isn't in the mood she gets very TEENAGERISH. "Mommy! No! I don't want a hug. Geesh!"  Ah yes, they grow up too soon LB...too soon.

mine still lets me get in bed with her in the morning and snuggle.  that's how i wake her up.

well, that's how i TRY to wake her up.  i usually end up actually waking her up by turning on the lights, pulling the covers off of her and saying, "GET UP NOW!  YOU HAVE 15 MINUTES OR YOU'RE GOING TO SCHOOL LIKE THAT!"

ROFL!!!! Oh LB that sounds like me!!!!!  My girl is NOT a morning person. Once I get her up she shuffles around the house, bleary eyed, hair standing on end and growling at her dad and I.  It's really funny.  And her dad is a morning person, he's so cheerful it's almost annoying. He always chimes, "Good morning sweetie" and Faith just glowers at him and makes this kittenish sort of growly noise.  Ahhhh, just like her mommy before coffee.

When I was younger I hated getting up, but I am a morning person now.  I only growl when I have a headache and even then it is more like a snarl, nice snarl.

Oh God Bless you Love! :)

Finally watched the DVR tonight. I didn't go on the boards today because I didn't watch LOST until tonight. Was EXCELLENT!!! I fast-forwarded thru commercials like a mad woman!!! And when the final episode ended I was screaming, "Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I want MORE!!!!!"

Wow, first whole episode with Sawyer without a shirt! Mama mia! I admit, I loved his messy hair!!! He just looks so good...messy. LOL!!!!!!

It was so cool to see Anna Lucia again! I was blown away!!!!  And why is Ginger (the redhaired girl) getting those nosebleeds??? I'm sorry I'm posting this all here, but just so many questions!!!!

Wow, Sun is a vigilante! She wants Ben dead! Holy cow!  And Aaron is soooooo adorable!!! Was also glad to see Jack clean shaven again.  LOL!

This is gonna be a great season!!! I suspected all along it was gonna be all time travel!!! I love how they are doing this!!! How the island keeps jumping back and forth!!! Was crazzzzy!!!!!

Okay, I go to other posts now!!! Huggles to all my wild girls!

We are going ready............to my house for dinner.  Where else, when you are a half way decent cook.  A friend has hurt his back was out of work for a few weeks.  So I offered to make dinner.

Roasted chicken with lemon, lavender, rosemary, proscuitto and garlic all finely chopped under the skin of the chicken breast, topped with sea salt and ground pepper, lemon juice, olive oil and sits on a rosemary, and lemons.  I have a long grain rice cooking, spinach and some carrots in brown butter.

For desert a kiss from the cook!  Just joking!   ;D

No no no, just a friend.  My smoking friend, yuch no kisses to or from.  He brings Febreeze and sprays it on outside before coming to the house.  He is delayed, but dinner is holding.

Oh if you lived closer I would share!!!!!!!!!!

I love having company and people coming in and out while the stove top is filled with fun things cooking and the over is baking something!   Pull up a chair fix yourself a beverage and make yourself at home.  Even though I like to entertain and dress up, good old fun is what it is all about!
I remember this one place I lived at people were in and out and someone was always chipping in the kitchen.  Constant flow of folks fun, wine, coffee, tea omg it was hysterical.  The couple downstairs, well she hated to cook, so her husband would come up the back way and fix himself a plate eat it and then head back down and come round through the front callling for her and asking where his dinner was.  She said you just ate it here goofy! ;D ;D  I like to experiment and try new things.  LB says I am fancy, she is a wonderful cook and so is PL and Joy they are amazing

Oh dang I must have been drinking that Veetavitavegamin again!  Pooping by to say Hi!!  It is a typical New England phrase passed down from our forefathers.  While travel by horse and buggy, even coach back in the day as they say, our common day rest stops were not many.  Therefore if a home was passed on the way one would stop and use the outside facilities and then knock on the door to share that the had just stopped by to poop in.

Also providing fair warning to the next vistor of the outhouse.  So really the misspelling was on I am popping in cause all along it was pooping in.   ::) ;D

Another little known  historical fact from Lil  (see what happens when one is away from the keyboard and reads) ;D ;D

Hiya ladies...I'm in L.A....I sometimes spend my weekends driving around, trying to find the church that is built over the LampPost station...  :P

Are any west-coasters on the live chat during new episodes? I've jumped in a few times, but it doesn't seem like anyone in this time zone is on.  :-\

Welcome Hatch when I created this I do not believe you were around so this is for all of the Wild Women of the West Coast.  Thought they needed a place to call their own!

Only a few stop in, but have fun ;D

I would completely appreciate it the rest of your West Coasters got onto the chat after LOST.

I hate it when I'm done watching it and everyone else is gone.  SO SAD!

Meet me there next Wednesday?

I'll try to be there Hatch!!! I know exactly how you feel!!!!

Okay ladies, I might miss Lost tonight....I know, I know, we made plans to be on the live chat together, but my friend got us tickets to see Jimmy Kimmel tonight and Nathan Fillion is going to be on, so...I chose proximity to my favorite non-main-Lost-character actor to watching Lost.

BUT!!! They start taping at 6pm, it can't be more than an hour, so...I might make Lost, yet!! We'll just have to see.  :-\

Ooooo that sounds like fun Mrs. A!!! Well, we'll look for you in the chat. I have to use my old Mac Notebook and the connection is slooooowwwww so hopefully I will be able to chat while I watch. I've never done that before, and I have a feeling my hubby is going to think I'm nuts!  (Well, he already does, so n/m!)

See you all tonight...Mrs. Alpert--you should yell out "I love Sledgeweb's Lost Stuff!" while they are filming....
Ok...don't...that would be crazy....

Yeah, ok, do it.

Hey girls, I don't want to get on the chat during the show because I don't want to see the spoilers---I had to avert my eyes from the home page so not to see anything I don't want to see.

I'll be on immediately after the show.  See ya there!

I'm here! I'm here! I made it!

And I didn't scream out about SWLS, I was too busy watching Nathan's mouth move...and Jimmy is pretty attractive in real life, too! It's going to be a great episode (of Kimmel...probably of Lost too, of course), and I'm in the 2nd row on the floor, all the way on the...um, if you're in the audience, I'm all the way on the right, next to a Chinese girl, that's my friend... woot! Aw I'm soooooo excited.... what a great day.

(Thankfully) my mouth stopped working because my brain shut down, so my eyes could drink in everything Fillion, lol! I basically sat on the edge of my super-close-to-the-stage chair the whole show, mouth agape. I must have looked like an idiot.

MRS. A!!!!! (((HUGGLES))))
How are you girl! Omg I am soooo tired and my stupid contact lens is freaking out in my left eye!  But otherwise I'm fine. Still recovering from the nausea of Juliette and Sawyer. I read the thread and saw you and Hatchie posted there. You guys are the only ones besides me who don't like this union!!!  Everybody else is all ga-ga over it????  I don't know why I feel so pissy about all this, but whatever!!!

Smoochies!!!

(((((((KOKO)))))))

I know it...maybe it's woman's intuition that we don't like Juliet. There's just something off about her, and Sawyer deserves better than that. I don't like that he's JIM with her, either, he was on the right track being James with Kate... Juliet just weasled her way into his heart because he's hot and is good with firearms. (but oh wouldn't we all??)

Actually that's a good point...he's hot, she can trust him, he's a support system...she's fairly attractive, he THINKS he can trust her, and she's his support system...and yet, still, it doesn't add up to me.

Sorry about your eyeball, and your stomach. You need some Clear Eyes and Pepto??

I couldn't sleep for the 4 hours I tried...I kept dreaming that I was posting things on here, LOL! So here I am, a dream come true I guess.  :-\

LOL!!!!  I agree with you completely Mrs. A. Something is up.  I think that Juliette is rebound girl.  I mean, who else is he gonna go for anyway?  For a very brief moment, I thought he was going to go after Charlotte but that took on a whole different route. But it just looked so...BIZARRE to see them together. She's too freakin' serious and strange.  I personally thought she and Jack were perfect for each other. They looked great together, they ground each other and they have this understanding. Same with Sawyer and Kate. It's like THEY have this unspoken connection and they are so much alike, and KATE is the one who made him sensitive to begin with!!! Dammit! This all just makes me nuts!

Actually it's a really long story, so I wrote a blog about it on myspace.  :-\ So many terrible things happened on the flight and leading up to it that I had to make it an entire story. If I had to sum it up in one sentence, I guess it would be, "I thought the guy looking like Quasimodo was rolling up on me, but really he just wanted to lay across his aisle seat and the empty middle seat and put his head on my lap, so I told him that if he didn't stop bothering me I'd get his information from Northwest Airlines and sue his a**."

Or thereabouts.  :-[

Yes Mrs A, you can add me via myspace (myspace.com/kasigirl)! I don't like adding guys I don't know so sadly enough (for them) I deleted all them. BUT I am a sucker for ladies. Your plane ride sounds crazy!!!! If my hubs wasn't w/ me to protect me I would've passed some serious gas. And coughed really loud on him while spitting everywhere without covering my mouth. The whole time smiling at him. I like being the happy obnoxious type to take of creeps. And every time I'd tell a joke I'd smack his arm as hard as I could yelling, "GET IT!?!?!? YOU KNOW!???? *smack smack* Like a BANANA!? B-A-N-A-N-A!?!? BANANA!!??? *smack* LIKE THE FRUIT!!!!!! GAhhhhahahahaha. Oh man I think I peed a little. Or a lot. Hmm..." Ofcourse I'd probably not do any of those, but I like being creative in awkward situations. I like giving the full time double chin. It's just not very approachable. I just look scared and nervous. I wrote too much already *sighhh*

Wow! Thanks Lil! The sunshine will always wait for you here on the West Coast...it reminds me of The Little Prince, how he saw 44 sunsets in one day just by moving his chair a few feet every now and then.

I have a key chain with the prince, my Mom read it to us in French, we had no clue what she was saying.  The version she had was in French, so we couldn't even read it.

I just read it like, a week ago, for the first time. I was crying at the end. I put it down, thought about it for a bit, then picked it back up and started over again. It's just one big gem of the most precious life lessons. And also totally cute.

American Girls is a doll company. They started out with three dolls, from three different time periods, and all the accessories, clothes, and even furniture for the dolls for their respective time periods. Then they got up to...I think 5 or 6 different dolls.... then they started a new line of them, where you can make your own doll to look like you, and they have modern accessories for them like roller blades and bunk beds and whatnot, lol. These are the dolls that girls have tea parties with, if you've heard about that sort of thing.

I had Kirsten, the Swedish doll, when I was younger and I have all her accessories (I'm a huge geek, I know). When I finished I got a second doll, and that was Addy. Now, personally, I dislike the company because at least the original dolls taught kids about historical periods, you know? It's nice that kids can make dolls that look like themselves and have tea parties with them, but they're not learning anything now.  :-\

wow I can't believe I just ranted about dolls...  :-[  Sorry!! lol

LOL! Wow! Excellent source of info there Mrs. A!!! Nope, Faith has never had a doll like that.  She isn't into dolls much.  She prefers stuffed animals.

She reminds me of another Coconut!  (Is your daughter into American Girls, KoKo?)

What is American Girls, Jess? I don't think I've ever heard of it?
KoKo stuffed animals are better. A few of the folks at work have daugthers who have these dolls about $125.00 a pop and if you go to one of the store you can have a salon day, with the doll, daughter and Mom.  It is not inexpensive, the little dog that looks like Piper is not cheap, I think Piper will be cheaper in the long run.

It is nice if you want to spend the money but omg....sorry, maybe I am old fashioned but baby doll wearing your baby clothes with a pram is nice.

I fell for these dolls too!!!!!!!! ;D  No I do not own one.

American Girl books were super fun to read. I read them allll until they kept creating new ones and eventually I got to old to read em  ;) Cute idea though. Each one to her own era... very educational in a personal and fun way!

My niece loved the books and they do have a purpose.

Does your daughter have a specific doll, toy or animal she is hooked to?  Besides Dora  ;D   A work colleague's son loves pirates and star wars he is four I believe but it is funny ;D

I have 5 large plastic storage containers filled to the brim with my child's stuffed animals.  This was because she is allergic to dust and therefore because she adamantly refused to give them to Goodwill, I had to find a new residence for them all. Her main concern was her stuffed animals couldn't breathe with the lids on the containers.

She has definitely adopted my bizarre and mildly smart-assy humor.  She also knows how to cock one eyebrow up like her mommy which is hysterical to see when she's skepitcal about something.

Everyone says she looks like me but I think she looks more like her dad.  See, I'm Eurasian and her dad is Mr. Whitebread so she adopted all his coloring...light hair and blue eyes. I love her eyes cuz they are slightly almond shaped but blue.  I'm crazy about my nutty kid!

I have almond shaped eyes, but hazel/green when a little girl strawberry blonde hair.

Your daughter sounds beautiful, but Koko between you and your husband she is beautiful.  Don't take your looks out, I understand she has more of his qualities.

I laugh cause someone saw the matatoe and said she looked like me and I was thinking well, not really.  But my brothers daughter is a blonde hair blue eyed knock out and she could be my daughter ;D

How are you ladies doing?  I am blech today.  Majorly bllleechhh.  Eyeballs have gone on strike and got the bad news that I may have to have corneal surgery now.  So that has me completely down.  Ug.  Not gonna happen any time soon, but either way, I am pensive and depressed about that.

Well baby dolls, I am supposed to call and make appt with surgeon to look at my stupid balls in June.  From there they will decide if I need to have a transplant. UGH.   That scares me like nothing else.

Anybody see the movie, THE EYE??? Yeahhhh... Girlfriend got somebody else's corneas and suddenly she seeing dead people!!!!!

Don't be scared by that movie. They turn everything into scary things. The Fly? Yeah, what's so scary about a fly, huh? Well, they'll show you. Popcorn? Who's scared of popcorn? Oh, if you've ever seen Killer Clowns from Outer Space, you'd know what's so scary about popcorn!

Plus, if you start seeing dead people, it would make ghost hunting a LOT easier.  ;)

KoKo her hair is such a unique gorgeous honey color!!! It's very pretty against her light, but dark toned skin. She is a goober :D Like mine  ;) When they ham it up it's perfect picture time... hard to imagine kids any other way! LiL loves the kids, I bet she is excellent with them.

I got pretty good news, the first baby appt went really well! Things are looking up for mahself and une bebe. Gestational diabetes sucked w/ Is, but uhh.. have you ever been on a diabetic diet!? If you can nail how to cook, which I have fun with, it's good food and healthy = a pretty sharp looking pregnant person ;) :D I gained a total of 10 pounds throughout my entire pregnancy, but everyone was healthy and grew just fine. Isabel was a little early so she was 6lb 10oz. I'm hoping I can skip month 9 like last time. It's just turned month 4 and things are looking pretty identical.

PL if you're reading this... I have so many questions for you! ;D Mostly about all your pregnancies and if you think age (yours, no offense) has much to do with anything? Was your first easier then your last? How old were you for the first baby? I'd ask my mil, but her last one is 14 yrs old and clearly she's forgotten a lot hehe. I just have lots of curiosities! I'm 25 and thinking a lot about that kind of stuff this time around.

Kasi - children come to me, like old people and animals what can I say.  though some children steer clear when they know that I will not let them get away with things.

Kasi - I found recipes for you, seriously I think my sister had the same thing with her first child.  She had three and did well.

I keep prayers for you!

As I have said before we have a bevy of beauties on this forum and some great looking men also.  So no wonder your children are also good looking.

Trust me, if we were near by I would baby sit for you folks so you could have fun!  I have to make the blanket, pillow and little mattress for the matatoes doll pram so I can finally give it to her.  I will take a picture.

I AM reading this!  (2 weeks later... ::) lol)  I'm so glad to hear things are going well for you!  Even if you face some of the same challenges this time around, you're equipped to deal with them, so it ain't no thang. :)

Thankfully, I was blessed with very average & uncomplicated pregnancies.  I was 20 with my 1st, then 22, 25, 28, 29, & now 31.  The only symptom that has become increasingly difficult with consecutive pregnancies is the exhaustion, but I think that that difference can be attributed more to my workload than my age or health!  You know how you're super-tired during the 1st trimester, but then you get some energy back into the 2nd?  Yeah.....that doesn't happen so much when you have a boatload of other younglings to care for. lol

I gained about the same amount of weight with each of my babies (25-30 lbs.), & my activity level has remained the same (if not increased!).  I'm still able to exercise, go hiking, carry kiddos, scrub floors, climb around in the gross human hamster mazes @ Burger King, etc. lol

As far as labor & delivery, usually women experience shorter labors with less pushing in subsequent pregnancies.  While I didn't need to push for the 90 minutes that I did with my 1st (closer to 10 with each of the others), my labors were still all around 12 hours each......until Olivia's that is.  So there we were completely surprised by a 6 hour labor on baby #5.  I will say that involution contractions have been WAY more painful with each child. :-\  I've found myself needing to do Lamaze breathing during breastfeeding!  My pukey tendencies & disdain for feeling out of control (I don't even take Benadryl!) prevent me from taking anything stronger than 800 mg Motrin, but if you can handle it & they give it- take the Percocet or Vicodin!

Hope this helps!

PL this is your thread too!  You can chat LOST season finale away here!  Mrs. H's place has been a good non end of season place too!  There is a lot to cover, but you have a good nine months ! Oh I can't see how much longer you have!   ;) ;D
I'll make it into the LOST threads eventually.  I've just been talking to so many people IRL & on IM about it that I haven't been super-motivated to wade through all the board muck this time!  LOL

Thank you LiL! I am well! I just popped in here but only read the last page to the threads I check out. I'm kinda of blah about the forum in general, but miss you, QG, Koke, PL, etc. (a few others that are entertaining hehe). We are done fund raising! Woooo! $8,000 in 3 months, garage sales, car washes, kids raising money on their own whew. Anyways summer is going really great and super busy... it's been more beautiful then last year so we really take advantage of that!

PL, holy chow girl! Hit me up on myspace as I am there constantly. Thank you for your input! After some iron supplements and insulin/diet control I am feeling that normal energetic feeling again! I just hit 17 weeks. Things are good. Used to needles again  :P

Will let you lovely ladies know when I find out gender!  :-* ;D

Nope, I'm not a CA native but after living here for most of my life, I guess technically I am now.  My daughter is though and so is the hubby.  But he would LOVE to live back east.  He wants to live in North Carolina. He looks up this website called (I think) oldhomes.com which is a site where there are all these beautiful historical homes for sale that cost next to nothing.  Only thing is...are there jobs near these places???

We were gonna move to Virginia at one time, but finding work out there was excruitiating.  We ended back in California again.  I would have missed my parents too much tho. So for the time being, we have our roots here!  ;D

Hi friends! I don't care enough to post anywhere else really... this thread is cozy enough  ;) :-*

How are you ladies? I am doing good. I am 20 weeks along which is half way through pregnancy, and gender is still unknown. Things are pretty great, but I have gestational diabetes again so it's been a lot of maintaining! Life has been super busy. From the little things like the carnival, halibut fishing (deep sea), visiting out of own friends, and get togethers (birthdays, potlucks, etc.) to bigger things like doctor's appointments and dietitian appointments... getting ready for Texas next month and being a youth leader to a bunch of teens and mom to my sweetie pie... life is just busy. But really great! It's summer time! Anyways love you guys and hope you're enjoying the swagger of summer also!!!!!! Big fishy kisses!

Thanks for catching us up on your goings on Kasi!!!  Sorry to hear about the gestational diabetes!!! Gads, that sounds scary. I got very high blood pressure when I was preggers. What in the world is going on with our bodies?!?!? But sounds like you have so many fun things planned for the summer!!! Horayyy!!! Can hardly wait to hear if you are going to have a boy or a girl!

Eww, it's still raining where you are Jackii?  Girl, it got HOT over here.  Oh and apparently we had a 3.0 earthquake last night, but it was over in Corona area so I didn't feel a thing.  Bet you don't miss that kind of baloney, huh?  Didn't you say you were going back to NZ???  Ohhhhh, hug a koala bear for me will you??? Better yet, when you do go back, take a picture of yourself huggling  a koala and post it here for me!

Leesey, where the heck are you woman?  you ALWAYS pop on when I'm am not here!!!  That is soooo frustrating!! Are you pulling a Joy on me now??!?!?!

Yeah, still raining. It was gorgeous and sunny two days ago, I went to the beach. I guess this is payment for that beautiful day.  :-\ That's okay. Actually my washing machine here is so powerful it makes everything shake, so we named it Earthquake. It reminds me of L.A. lol

Nah, I can't go to NZ again for a while. My friend from NZ came to visit me, but that's it. And whenever he gets married, I'll go down to visit him again, unless they go to Vegas, in which case... I don't know when I'll go back.  :( But if I see any koalas in the meantime, I'll tackle them like I'm trained to do and make someone take a picture.  ;D

Jackii- that is HILARIOUS about your washing machine!!! I laughed out loud when I read that!  OMG our washing machine has been acting up something scary. It leaks too. But who has the money to repair the damn thing? UGH!  So like... it leaks a little everyday. So it's like the washing machine has incontinence issues.  I may have to buy a boatload of Depends for it.  :D    I'm sad you don't get to go back to NZ.  Tell your buddy to hurry up and get married already. So you can go back!!! Geesh.   >:(

Leesey- it figures I went offline and you went back on. I'm telling you, it's a conspiracy.  Cuz I'm here for a LONG time. In fact...NONE of you have been online when I am online. What gives around here?!!??!?!?!

Hallo ladies! Wow this place is really alive. I think what happened besides being busy is when the site was tweaking out I gave up. Also I'm an avid (but private, srry) facebooker! So I spend any online time there  :-\

MrsA, my busy things are really goofy things in life haha. Like tonight my hubs teen bro and cuz are spending the night and they will geek it up (LAN party) and be in my way, while I hide in my room and Netflix it up. There is a local church I enjoy and might go to their conference tonight if I'm not too tired and also all the new movies are in the theater now! Tomorrow is a local festival called Midnight Sun (Alaskan thing) that my daughter loves so that will be fun. I also enjoy taking her swimming. I think I keep busy so Isabel and I won't get bored, and rarely do anything that costs money (playground, beaches, playdate/coffee time w/ girlfriends). Sometimes I've seen people have kids and get lonely or depressed :-[ So summer time is like EPIC for us that are in the house like 8 months straight LoL  ;) :D

So yes you lovely ladies, I'm enjoying the summer!  :-* But how about you all? OH KoKo! I forgot to tell you just in case, but this isn't the 1st time I've bee diabetic! So my body has always been like this hehe... I am fine and doing well. The harm level is real low b/c I do everything I should and am insulin savvy. There is no real danger for now & I think the word -diabetes- freaks people out b/c they're not aware of it or they don't realize everyone is SO different when it comes to that (LoL I am thinking of my mom when I write this). But it'snot easy and I'm most def praying it goes away after this chalupa is born!

OH Isabel calls the baby 'sunshine' and gets kindof defensive when someone asks if it's a boy or girl. She shrugs and says, "It's just sunshine,"

Awe Sunshine that is absolutely adorable!   She is growing up like the Matatoe!
The festival sounds like it is going to be fun!  I know it is officially summer today or is it tomorrow none the less yeah!!!!!!!!!

As for the diabetes yes, people do not understand and becoming educated on these topics benefits folks in general.

Glad you are healthy

Hi KoKo --- I will look for the thread.  Hmmm How are you?

Hee hee hee!! I finally got a quote from you for the in bed thread!!!Hee hee hee hee!!! ((((((((LEESEY))))))))  :-*

Oh nooooooooooooooooooooooooo

I am sure there are so many more I could use, since yours and my mind techinically set up real estate in the gutter!  But at least I will never be wonely!!! Hee hee hee!  I am in a very weird mood today. Had a bit of a crap weekend, so I am all weirdly cranky-goofy.  Does that make any sense???

You are so good to me Leesey.  I am sooo happy you are actually here and I am not responding to your "ghost". Cuz I hate that I see you were just on and then you're not.  It's soooo frustrating!!!!  Like balancing your check book. Talk about FRUSTRATING.  It is $18 in my favor...but I have this bad feeling that somewhere I have possibly spent this and I don't remember, which means that for some reason I might overdraw myself thinking that that extra money is there when in actuality it is not.   Yeah. So much for "long story short".  BAH!!!

Oddbodkins.  I had posted a ginormous emoticon with it's tongue hanging out in a drooling type fashion to show my appreciation for the Joshy picture and that bizarre seventh heavan thing shows up. Although when I think of Josh I AM in seventh heavan so go figure???  Am I spelling heavan wrong. Is it with an "a" or an "e" at the end?

OMG my stupid ball is buggin. It keeps gooping up and when I blink it seems to get worse. I want to hurt someone!!!! GRRRRRRR  >:(

Where is Alaskas and did she have a wee one yet?

I bet she did and that's why she hasn't been here in a while cuz when one of my BFF's had her baby, she didn't come online for at least a few months later!

She did and she has a real life and I just miss her and her wacky ways like you!

Hey youuuu guys! Missed you  :-* I'm so glad I popped in!!! How are you guys!? I'm doing good. I've been keeping busy with life (mm hmm) and noticed in season 6 is about to start soon and thought I'd see how excited everyone was about it haha! Is there a "freaking out about season 6" thread?? The baby keeps me busy, but so does a 4 yr old. And a house. And a hubs. Just life in general. Killian is great, he is a little sweetie pie and has been smiling a lot lately. He's 2 1/2 months now and my little bubberpants. I will hopefully make it on here more! Especially once the season starts!!! Are you guys freaking out?!?!

I've got a local group of friends that is going to hash it out with me! We all agree with each other on most everything. In fact, I'd say we're all barely holding on right now as fans and are just putting a lot of faith that this season will end decently (to be honest, whihc is not easy on a site like this with diehard fans!)

We can be assured that it does end that is the most we can guess.  I am sure  you will have fun with the local group.  We keep things moving along here!
Looking forward to the folks returning that where here when I became "active"
