Not a spoiler since I am making this up. I want to be on record for getting this one right!
The bomb went off, the Losties wake up on the plane and land in LAX. All of them remember what happened (except for the fact that it did not happen). People that died on the island may or may not remember what happened (Boone, Shannon, Ana Lucia, etc) Locke died off the island, so he remembers. Michael died on the boat, so he remembers.
There are now a couple of factions among the Losties.
“Returners” want to go back
Kate: because it beats jail/death row.
Rose and Bernard: since Rose will be sick and die off Island.
Jack: because he remembers he loves Kate and she is in jail/death row
Locke: because he wants to walk and be the Leader and save his people from the nuke.
Claire: She now loves Aaron, and find that the adoption is no longer a good idea, possibly because the parents are Dharma!
“Stayers” want the Island to have never happened
Michael and Walt: Michael died off island, wants to live and make things right with Walt
Jin and Sun: Want to be together, both speak English now and can stay in USA
Sayid: Now knows where Nadia lives, wants to just disappear with her.
Sawyer and Juliet: Juliet wants to stay off island. Sawyer wants to stay with Juliet.
All dead people: Do not want to go back.
“Unclear” Could go either way
Hurley: I can see him being either way.
They fight, Returners win.
The Returners in 2004 find the Lamppost again, though it is not run by Miss Hawking (she dies in the nuke in 1970). What is left of the Dharma initiative are the people that were off island during the nuke. They have no clue what the hell happened back then. When the “Returners” say they can go back and fix it so it never happened, they are happy to help. Richard Alpert is one of them in 2004 that can help.
The Returners, plus Richard Alpert are sent back to the Island (though it is the First the Alpert has been there). They land on the island in 1600 right as the Black Rock is landing (maybe on the Black Rock!). They somehow cause a weird anomaly that causes the Black Rock to end up way inland. People that come back in time to the Island do not age. Thus Richard Alpert of 2004 does not age from 1600 or so. The Returners have a LONG time to wait until they can help change things back. The Returners have been on the Island all this time, staying hidden in the jungle (in the caves?) until such time as Dharma returns. They are the Other “Others” . We will see many “Richard Alpert in the Jungle” scenes from another perspective where the Returners are actually there, but hidden.
The Returners have one goal: Make the bomb unusable so that it does not go off and everything we saw on the show DOES happen. That is why the bomb did not go off when it was dropped (In the season finale, we saw the revised version of the timeline where the Returners broke the bomb!) The Returners have plenty of time to break the bomb once it arrives. The Returners breaking the bomb is the reason that the casing was leaking in the first place!
I am not sure what else happens, but I think these are the major story arcs.
-Ideas?
