loop.
« on: August 30, 2009, 08:35:21 PM »
HURLEY: Well, that would, like, assume that anyone actually tells me anything. Maybe if I were in the loop I could be more helpful.

JACK: There is no loop, Hurley.

CLAIRE [entering with Aaron]: Excuse me, Jack. He's been really hot and fussy. Do you mind having a look at him?

JACK: Yeah, sure, sure.

HURLEY [exiting]: Loop, dude, loop.

I have not seen evidence that it is a time loop yet.

I am not saying that they are not in a time loop. We just don't know that yet.

I think they are not, that they will get another chance to change what they did and this time it will be correct, but what do I know!

All of my previous theories have basically been thrown out the window if they got sent back in time... Mostly because nothing would have mattered, and they still have a whole season of filming left. Right now, no matter the outcome, I'm basically dumbfounded on what's going to happen next...

But I don't think they're in a timeloop of any sort... Of course, I've been wrong before. Once or twice.

This show is about people who were lost in their lives and then became lost on an island, and then some of them became lost in time, so we lost our ability to guess what's going to happen next.

Whoa. That was really profound, Gary. And also spot-on!

Course Correction Mrs. Hawkings said it.  No matter how many times they do something to make things change eventually it will be course corrected.

Hmmm the watches, Jack getting his Grandfathers. Jin having to deliver one!

in the 70's there are 2 of everyone. the ones that time traveled the ones that are children. so even if the time traveling ones died the children could still grow up to do exactly what they've always done, land on the island and eventually time travel.. therefore a loop.

To be argumentative, the two versions of the same person never meet, and they aren't repeating anything. No loop.

Time flows linearly for every person.

what?..

person a is born and then goes to island. time travels to the 1970's.

in the 1970's person a is born and then goes to island, time travels to the 1970's.

in the 1970's person a is born and then goes to island, time travels to the 1970's.

over and over and over. they dont need to meet for the situation to continue the way it does.
