ok ive watched each episode many many times... and now im rewatching from season 1.. im n season 2 now... wiht allof the knowledge since the 5th season... i came up with a theory that may work in some way... okay well AAron was supposed to be raised by Claire and Claire alone.. her goodness will be a great influence on the childs growth... but Kate brought him up. what if there is two timelines? one where Claires goodness influenced the growth of AAron, then the one with Kate... now since we know the same person cam occupy the same time space as their counterpart ... what if Jacob is AAron grown up under Claires goodness... and Esau ( the man in Black) is AAron raised by another.... ? he cant kill himself... so he has to find a loophole to corrupt someone to do the dirty work for him. liek highlander... there can be only one... valid? plausible? i know there care many holes in this theory but makes sense if you stretch a lil...

Very interesting, BR - good thinking.  Others have also speculated that Jacob and Man in Black may both be "Jacob" in some ways as they are like complements to each other.  And the fact that their vocal dialects were very 21st century American, the idea that they may be time travellers is plausible.

@E.S.B.  correct the ying and yang of ourselves.  We all have that good/bad running through.  Some have a balance and others weigh to much on one side or the other.

We also have a crackpot theory thread in LOST talk

i know we have a crackpot theory thread, but i wanted to be more specific with this one... so i can keep track better... yes alot of ppl think that jacob and the locke-alike are yin/yang ish... but anyone can agree that they might both be Aaron, grown up by either kate or Claire??

That is an interesting theory. That would bring the story almost full circle--back to season 1 and back to Aaron who was born on the island... maybe that is why the kids were all kidnapped from the airplane (they were looking for Aaron?) Claire was kidnapped too.....
However-- why would Aaron(s) have time traveled back to the black rock and how do they relate to all the Egyptian stuff?
it's a good theory to ponder this summer... did you sign up for the fantasy league?

What makes more sense is that Jacob fathered children through time. Ergo the question of Walt being in places where he wasn't suppose to be.

Just a thought.

I like it BR! I think I speak for many of us here when I say that Aaron is a lot more important that we've been shown so far. Thought it for a while but couldn't really put any evidence or a theory behind it. And now you have. Thank you, sir Smiley

Okay that just doesn't compute because Jacob and MN2 have been on the island long before Aaron.

So how does that make Aaron either one of them?  Am I missing something?  I mean the reality is that both of these men have been around for a long long time.

Is the insinuation that Aaron is one of these men because he was born on the island?  I am lost people someone explain this becaues it makes no sense

have you been watching the show and you think this makes no sense??? its like the compass or the well rope... Jacob/ aaron has just always been there.. no beginning, or end.. just in the loop.

BR we all perceive things differently, as we learn differently, so just because I am not seeing what you see doesn't make me "not watch the show" dang BR we have been through this before, cause I think you don't watch the show either Grin.

The compas points north, so all that is good points north right?  I never focused on the compas and as for Aaron I do not see the connection with Jacob.  Especially where he was not touched by Jacob, nor was Claire.

If in fact Claire warned Kate not to bring him back and not someone else, like the MN2 taking her body (cause we know she might really be dead) and coming off the island to warn her or if in fact Jacob warns Kate not to bring him back.

The only reason I will buy into the fact that Aaron is involved with Jacob is that his Grandmother is involved with off island activity (Carol).

But seriously I am not asking to be cheeky I am missing what you are trying to share and I am not a dim light bulb trust me. Wink

It sounds pretty logical....what Locke saw - the bright light and what we see - the black smoke......

Umm, I think he means Aaron could be Jacob because of time travel.  You know, Aaron grows up and travels to the Island's past, calls himself Jacob.  Makes sense to me, but I do not think it is true.
