"Galaga"?
« on: May 15, 2009, 07:39:58 PM »
When they were in the submarine, the closed-captioning showed the commander saying something like, "This is Galaga to home base, ...", like it was the code name for the sub.

What does "Galaga" mean?

Galaga is the name of the sub. We saw the name on it a season or so ago.
It was also a great video game.

I get that it's the name of the sub, but what does the word "galaga" mean?

"The TV series Lost included a submarine named Galaga, in honor of the arcade game. Writers of the series would often play the game between writing sessions.[5]"

The game seems so ancient compared to today's standards, but that game was in EVERY SINGLE ARCADE. Even if somewhere only had 1 arcade game, it would be Galaga.

Also, I'm fairly jealous they had a Galaga machine at their work. As if writing for LOST wasn't cool enough they get.
