okay after tonights finale can anyone disagree that Rose and Bernard are in fact adam and eve?
Yes. I can. Because they are living out in the woods, not the caves. Right, but that doesn't mean they won't go the caves for some reason. Right, that is a POSSIBILITY, but there was absolutely nothing in what was presented in the episode that automatically means that Rose and Bernard are "Adam and Eve" except for the fact that Rose and Bernard are a man and a woman living in seclusion. You're totally right. There was nothing in the episode to suggest that Rose and Bernard are Adam and Eve. I want to be clear that I know that I am making a leap of faith in making that theory. I'm not saying this episode proves that at all.

I know you're not, but Bad Robot is, and I know this sounds so snotty or what have you, but I absolutely hate it when someone (not just you BR) says that we now have total proof that ________________________________, when we have virtually zero proof of said blank line.

I agree with Bob... what we know for sure is that Rose, Bernard, and Vincent aren't dead, but have been living in the woods for three years. But now Kate, Jack, etc. are in the jungle too, so it could still be any one of them.

I'm not saying this episode proves that at all. Oh, I wouldn't say that. I thought there was plenty in this finale episode to suggest that Rose and Bernard might be A&E. All that bit about never leaving each other and just wanting to be together forever? And not really caring if they die or not? Somehow, I can totally see them fitting into my earlier speculation that A&E might be the people who end up being left behind to "turn the switch" or whatever it is that ends up ending the series, and thus they'd be the ones who sacrifice themselves. It seems sort of crude and not the sort of thing TPTB would knock us over the head with, but there are the stones, too... white (Bernard) and black (Rose). Not real subtle, but it's possible. I don't think this episode proves anything for sure, though. It just gives us more to jaw about. While we wait. And wait. And wait some more... sigh...

I don't know but Jack said when they were in the caves the clothes were from an earlier time even earlier than the 1970's.
If this show has taught us anything it what we think is going somewhere it switches.
Locke dead Jacob - a person unto himself Kate - back on the island
I could go on thse are just a few thoughts, but the point it there is no imperical evidence pointing to either direction!
Think on this is good

Well, if the clothes were from the 70's, then it wasn't Rose and Bernard, because all of their clothes were from 2004.

OK, this is totally weird, and I'm very sleep-deprived today, so forgive me, but someone posted somewhere calling Jacob and Man No. 2 "Mr. White" and "Mr. Black" (because of their shirts.) Which made me think, if we're going to assume (as some posters have) that Mr. Black and/or Mr. White can "take on" the appearance of (or take over the bodies of... whichever you prefer) other people (some dead, some not), then what's to say that one of them might not take over the body of a female some day? And since some have made (very good) speculations that the two of them are playing some sort of backgammon-ish game with mankind, is it a huge leap to think that maybe the two of them will end up being Adam and Eve in the caves, clutching the black and white gamepieces in their skeletal little hands? Ooooooo!
